      I’m an ENTP. I’m a mix of not following through because of ADHD and committed to following through if nothing else just to prove I can. Eating Taco Bell for week though is NOT a challenge or a dare, I’ll eat Taco Bell all week just because. 😏 Don’t tell me I’m incapable of something. I will prove you wrong! I do argue for both novelty and to prove facts correct when it’s important. If your opinion is Madonna is the queen of popular music . I won’t argue with you but if you want to know my opinion I’ll say Madonna maybe the queen but Dolly is the Goddess of all music. We don’t have to agree but let’s not argue about it.

      Great point! We tend to lean on different aspects of our personalities depending on the situation. This is especially true for 7 and 8, as they can be wings of each other, and therefore they have access to each other's patterns more readily. Thank you for sharing! 🤗

    Wahhh so interestinggg
    I often don't relate when many stereotype said that entps loves debate & hurt people by that, because I hate such debate but enjoying exploring what ifs when brainstorming (which isn't considerably as debate, I think), or joining an open discussion where we share our perspectives but still respecting one another
    But the most accurate is about seeking for happiness, highly2 true! Even I can resign because of boredness & don't feel happy anymore (but sure after got the new one that looks more interesting)
    Yet I think there are parts in 8 which relates w/ me, like I don't talk too much but still friendly, which made several people said I have such charisma for them to respect but still not being afraid. Andd I don't like to be controlled, but my chosen for now will still led me to not being tied & able to choose based on my mood
    So intestesting to watch this videoo!

      @TrueYouSystems  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Nice! That totally happens! Often we will have one type that is dominant, frequently with elements of the adjacent types, which get referred to as "wings", as in 8 with a wing in 7, or 8w7. But sometimes it can be hard to pin down which type is the dominant type. For that, I recommend thinking about the underlying motivation more than the patterns of behavior. Thank you for this great comment! 🤗

    ENTP 5w4 here and I respectfully disagree with your argument that ENTPs can only be 7's or 8's. I'd posit that any MBTI can pair with any Enneagram. This is because MBTI defines personality type...ie HOW one thinks. Enneagram on the other hand defines motivating factors...ie: WHY one does what they do.

    • @TrueYouSystems
      @TrueYouSystems  28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      This is a great point! You're right, ENTPs can indeed be other Enneagram types, and I touch on that briefly at the end of the video (I mention ENTP 3s as an example, but other types can be ENTPs, too). You're also totally right that the MBTI and Enneagram look at different aspects of personality, and this is something people overlook all the time, so I'm so glad you bring it up! What I would add to that point is that while MBTI and Enneagram look at different aspects of personality, they are not totally independent variables, and we do see correlations between the two. In other words, some Enneagram type will be more common among certain MBTI types and vice versa -- like, you're going to see more Enneagram 2s who are ENFJs than INTJs, for example.
      I get into all this in my "Why the MBTI doesn't work for everything" video, which you might find interesting: th-cam.com/video/K_efTVWeaoM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=UdBha1bud2xJeX9I
      Also, if you're curious about how Enneagram 5s can present in a more extroverted way, you might like this video: th-cam.com/video/0WuE-Meyh1s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OjyybkeGscPWLp3B In it, I discuss the three subtypes on Enneagram 5, and I should note that while I use INTJ 5s as a jumping off point, it really applies to 5s in general.

    • @TrueYouSystems
      @TrueYouSystems  19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Interesting! There are a few reasons why this might be happening. For one, tests for the Enneagram are notoriously not accurate, and ultimately what matters most is whether you relate to the main motivation of the type. I go into this in detail this video, and you might find it helpful: th-cam.com/video/3AowGOXFP9Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ybSvDxTLg02kw31O
      While it's true that 4s tend toward F on the MBTI, they can score T on the test, though this is often close to the 50% mark as opposed to overwhelmingly T.
      Also, your Tritype may influence how Type 4 presents, as can your instinct stacking (aka subtype). For example, Self Preservation-dominant Fours can seem to have more T on the MBTI.
      Thanks so much for sharing and adding depth and nuance to the conversation! 🤗

    Hmm, I'm an ENTP 5w4. I debate for the sake of discussion, or to find the truth, or simply for fun. Can also sometimes turn around what someone said back at them as part of making my own point, or to point out irregularity. But I can also be a comedic goofball, or even wholesome comforter with people. Kind of ambivert. Can shift between gregarious or rhetorical, and laidback or distant. From philosophical to dirty minded humour.
    I don't feel a need to prove anything, and I don't like drama. People who gets offended destroys the discussion. So I prefer to mingle with smaller groups.
    So my point I'm making is that there are more than just two types of ENTP:s. 5w4 makes sense, because 5 is a a thinking enneagram, and 4 is individualistic free spirited.

    • @TrueYouSystems
      @TrueYouSystems  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great points and examples! While 5s tend to lean towards introversion, they can score E in some cases on the MBTI, though it tends to be closer to the 50% mark as in your case. If you haven't already, you might want to check out my video about the 3 subtypes of 5s using instinct stacking (if this is unfamiliar jargon, don't worry, it's all explained!): th-cam.com/video/0WuE-Meyh1s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=PoIShSUkgtnufHri I use INTJ 5s as the jumping off point, but really it applies to all 5s. I'll be curious to hear your thoughts on that one, too! Thanks for adding to the conversation here! 🤗

    • @caligulawellington3171
      @caligulawellington3171 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TrueYouSystems Sure. I could do that. INTJ:s are the shadow type to ENTP, and I have been through enough crisis's to develop a "switch", which kicks in when I need to use things like Te and Fi instead of Ti and Fe. Usually when my Si fails.

    • @TrueYouSystems
      @TrueYouSystems  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great point! While 5s tend to be more introverted, there are certainly 5s who get E on the MBTI (though usually it's close to the middle as opposed to strongly E). Some of this connects with instinct stacking, and if for more on that for 5s specifically, I'd recommend checking out my video about the three varieties of INTJ 5, which really applies to 5s in general: th-cam.com/video/0WuE-Meyh1s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jIERVInOY-BN5Zv3 I'd love to hear your thoughts on that, too! Now i got it. Usually ENTPs annoy me. I Think they are the most annoying especially that I am an INTJ. But i had a friend in high school who i am sure is ENTP and he was one of my best friends. Very smart, charismatic, achiever, likes to debate serious intellectual stuff, still funny most of the time, a dentist now he is.......i think he is type 8 and i think i get along with those people. another guy on youtube, a scientist, as smart and charismatic as my friend. i typed him ENTP too. and by the way, both provoke me and i used to be little angry sometimes but as a mature INTJ i think i am now, i discovered that those people with there open-to-all-possibilities Ne dominant function charges my enthusiasm & curiosity even more to learn and debate new stuff. and as an INTJ, i can easily say that i win most of the time but still i owe them the catalyst to debate something new. sometimes, INTJs fall in their Ni-Fi loop for a long period and people such as ENTPs can intrigue, provoke, or challenge us. as usual, thank you Ayla for your beautiful videos and beautiful appearance.

    • @TrueYouSystems

      Interesting! It's possible you have both in your Tritype, which refers to your main type for each Center of Intelligence (2,3,4 for Heart, 5,6,7 for Head, and 8,9,1 for Gut/Instinct). So you might have 8 and 7 in your Tritype along with either 2, 3 or 4. Types 8 and 7, along with Type 3, are part of what is sometimes called the "go-getter" triad, and they have in common a high level of energy, confidence, and audacity. These traits in common can also make it a little hard to pull apart which is your dominant type, which ultimately comes down to underlying motivation. This short video I made a while back summarizes the driving motivation for each type: th-cam.com/video/eZBi1Mlh2f0/w-d-xo.html Thanks for sharing here and adding to the conversation! 🤗

      Sexual 8s have so much raw power and charisma. It's an inspiring thing and something I admire! 🤗 But society doesn't always understand that and may interpret that intensity as being "controlling," "aggressive" reactive or "too much" and that can be hard for 8s who just want to get things done in the way they see as just and fair. This framework can sometimes be helpful for 8s to keep in mind when dealing with other people and their responses🙂 Thanks so much for sharing your experience🤗 I hope this is helpful!

    • @TrueYouSystems
      @TrueYouSystems  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm so glad you asked this! One of the big reasons why I love the Enneagram is that it helps me better connect with and understand people, create relationships, and have a better ability to not put my own filter onto other people. I find it a helpful tool for building compassion towards others, since otherwise I might not understand why someone is doing something, and might just apply my own biases instead. And, of course, the MBTI and Enneagram don't explain everything about everyone -- we're far more complex! Thanks so much for helping expand the conversation! 🤗

      @TrueYouSystems that's really sweet. For me, the mbti is an interesting and helpful shift in perspective. I'm not sure it helps me to understand others much better. I think I understand others rather well anyway - especially when it comes to practical interactions.
      To me, it is more about understanding myself and affirming a set of abilities and weaknesses that I'm comfortable identifying with. Part of it is unburdening me from the desire to be good at everything and fit in every role. I now know better who I want to be and what qualities I don't have to develop.

      Interesting! I love that you're using insight from personality systems for helpful strategies in your life, that's awesome! What you describe sounds a lot like Type 8, and sometimes 8s (and other types) who happen to be particularly intellectual can get test results that skew towards 5. On the other hand, 5s can have a strong independent streak. Ultimately, it's the main underlying motivation that determines a person's dominant type; so, for example, is that independent streak about not letting others have power over you (8s), or is it about not letting them put demands on your time and resources (5s)? I'm of the opinion that your own educated assessment of yourself is a better measure than a test, especially for the Enneagram -- for more on why, I made this video: th-cam.com/video/3AowGOXFP9Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=N7BM03Xw1lnnuisw I'd love to hear more of your thoughts, thank you for sharing here! 🤗

    Funny you mentioned that we 7s like to debate for fun with a smile on our face conveyiing playful banter and yet some more serious types get deeply offended. I wish those serious types could see the genuinnes of why we do what we do and not to cause discord. We are just as much of unifyers as ESFJs. It breaks my heart that the more serious types can only see the forest only for each individual tree and not the whole. This was definitely an interesting take but there were many things I disagreed with. The very assumption that ENTPs are 7 or 8 has no basis. She could have just made the video about contrasting 7 and 8 not sure why ENTP is there. She had many good points about how they could be different however she presents very limited understanding of the Enneagram’s dynamics. 7s are this 8s are that is not a correct way of describing and contrasting types. Overall I enjoyed watching it and it was entertaining. Thank you.

    • @TrueYouSystems
      @TrueYouSystems  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'm so glad you brought this up! It's true ENTPs can be many different enneagram types; these are just the two most common that tend to be reported, but certainly not the only. And of course there are many different MBTI types that can be either 7 or 8. The systems measure and look at different things, so though they may correlate they don't have a one-to-one match. I go into this more in depth in this video which you may find interesting: th-cam.com/video/K_efTVWeaoM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=xPQA0P-UMsxjPT3b 🙂. And I agree with you that contrasting 7 and 8 is not an in depth and comprehensive way to look at these types. But in this video I wanted to narrow down how 7 and 8s differ based on their internal motivation in general, but also specifically for this MBTI type that is common for both 7s and 8s, which also provides a case study for how the two systems overlay. While it's true that much of what I discuss in the video applies to 7s and 8s of any MBTI type, I did lean towards 7 and 8 type patterns that are especially prevalent in ENTPs. For a look at 7s that are a different MBTI type, ENFPs specifically, you might be interested in this video: th-cam.com/video/YxgeHbt_56U/w-d-xo.htmlsi=WK0sXQp_XCRhZijf (I also have one about ENTJ 8s). Disagree. ENTPs are ADHD E7-users on account of dom-Ne. They then use their tertiary-Fe for either 3w2 or 2w3, and have any one of the body types last, most often defaulting to E8 for either the Triple-Extraverted 728 Free-Spirit, or Triple-Assertive 738 Mover-Shaker.
    8w7 is ESTP, probably 863, 862, 836, 837, 827 or 826.
    8w9 is ENTJ, 854, 853, 835 or 837

    • @TrueYouSystems
      @TrueYouSystems  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You bring up some good points about how our tritypes can influence how our MBTI presents! I agree that many ENTPs may be 728 or 738 as you mention. In general, 2s tend to be F-dominant, rather than T-dominant. This is because 2s, when making decisions, are fixated on the feelings of others. So, they lean heavily towards F over T and they don't tend to be ENTPs for this reason. I agree that ENTPs can definitely be 3s, as you suggest, though I didn't focus on that in this video. The Enneagram and MBTI interact in interesting ways and obviously don't line up 1-to-1. You might be interested in my "Why the MBTI doesn't work for everything" video, which gets into the different limitations of both systems and why and how they work together: th-cam.com/video/K_efTVWeaoM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=8M4H3gxftRGEXJn8 I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on it!
