    very useful, but please consider changing your screen resolution before recording, because it seems u r using a 4k monitor, that makes the text and icons really small and hard to read or see. (and I am watching the video on a 24 inch FHD monitor)

    Using the tile mapping "Center" mode, is possible to create a pixelated led screen effect. Tried here and worked. Just use a tile map with a small tile size, like 5mm for example, and whatever image you want. To make it more fancy, after the TileMap you can mix with a another black and white dot texture to simulate a round pixel. The point is that dot texture has to be the same size as the tile size (the pixel size, we can say). With the "Center" mode in the TileMap, we can make each pixel have only one single color.

      Not really - it has other functionality and abilities, and being built-in is much easier to set up and use. Also, it actually works (Bercontile, as you say being many years old, will not work on my system no matter what I try :) ). Tom

    Is there any way to have the map distribute a desired amount of rows based on an object's height? (Especially for when you don't know what dimension you would need to achieve the number of rows you want). For example, if one were using the tile map for brick, is it possible to have it distribute X number of rows/courses over the wall's height dimension; say 18 rows/courses on a 4' tall wall, versus having to play with UV mapping/eyeballing? Just a thought for further enhancement of the map in the future.

    • @romullus3d
      @romullus3d 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, that's possible. First you need to make sure that your object is uvw mapped in 0-1 texture space and its faces are filling UV from 0 to 1 (that's how 3ds Max box and plane primitives are mapped by default if real-world map size is unticked). Then you need to enter 1/n as tiles width or height, where n is number of desired rows, or tiles per row. In case of 18 rows, you would need to enter 1/18=0,056 as tile height. Also don't forget to accommodate for the gap width, as it's always added to the tiles dimensions in Corona Tiles map. Alternatively you can have tiles width and height as 1 and reduce size multiplier to 1/18. This setup will let you have 18 tiles per row and 18 rows independent of object size. If you have more questions about tiles map, i invite you to come to Corona forum and ask friendly Corona community for help.

      Would it also be possible to incorporate a way to have alternating rows/columns be a set color? One thing that is very hard to do with the native tile maps is to create an alternating projected coursing where one needs bump and displacement to be very specific to the coursing/pattern. I haven't been on the forum btw for a good while, so perhaps I'll compile a list off suggestions to post there. My biggest concern is that normally tile maps don't consider a lot of situations/design aspects that architects use/encounter, so we need a very versatile map sans having to model actual geometry to achieve what we need. @@romullus3d

    • @romullus3d
      @romullus3d 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@steyin I think it's possible to do something like rows with alternating colours in non procedural way, but if you want more universal and flexible solution, then you should request Corona team to add more functionality to the map. I fully agree with you that the map, while it's already nice and quite functional, could greatly benefit from some unique features that would make it stand out from similar tools that are already there in the market. So go to the forum post your list as a feature request and maybe someday in the future we will have really powerful and indispensable tool for archviz artist.

    Hi, I´m facing a Render animation flicker!
    UHD cache, animation is enabled (flicker-free), any tips?

    • @ChaosCorona
      @ChaosCorona  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately the TH-cam comments section is not a good place to diagnose issues, as we need to see example renders, and probably need a bit of back-and-forth conversation. Fortunately, we have two ways that DO allow such things - one is to submit a ticket at support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new , or head on over to the I Need Help sections of the forums forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?board=29.0. As noted, it would be best to share an animation that shows the flicker so we have some idea where to begin diagnosing it. Thanks! Tom

    Why Triplanar Mapping doeswork on scaled objects but this doesnt?

    • @romullus3d
      @romullus3d 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Because triplanar map does not need object's UVs, it creates its own UV mapping. On the other hand tiles map needs UVs in order to work and since UVW coordinates scales with mesh in 3ds Max, you always need to take this into consideration. If you don't want or can't to use xform on your object, you can always correct the scale in Tiles map itself by adjusting its size multiplier.

    how to randomize hue\saturation\gamma per tile?

    • @ChaosCorona
      @ChaosCorona  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Use a CoronaMultiMap, which offers randomization by Tile ID. BTW if you had asked over on the forums at forum.corona-renderer.com/ then we'd have been able to share a screen grab of such a set up ;) Hope this helps! Tom

    You mean the grass at the end of the video is just texture+displacement? Not some 3D mesh of grass?

    • @romullus3d

      Grass in that scene is 3D mesh scattered with Chaos scatter. It should be possible to make grass just with displacement, but it will never look as good as scattered models, especially in close-up views.

    • @ChaosCorona
      @ChaosCorona  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! Sorry to hear you are having problems - unfortunately TH-cam is not a good place to resolve those, as we'd really need to see things like images or animations showing the results you are getting (with the problems), screen grabs of scene set ups, and a back-and-forth conversation so we can rule out possible causes. May I ask you to either open a ticket via support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new, or post on the forums at forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?board=29.0 ? In both of those, it's possible to share images, scenes, etc.
      Right now two possibilities I can think of is something related to displacement for the flicker (depending on whether you have World or Screen mode in use) but this depends on whether the camera is being animated or not, and for the "lights exploding" I am not sure and would need to see what is meant, and know whether e.g. bloom and glare is used. But if you could post in either of those two places, we can dive in in more detail and figure out what is going wrong! Thanks! Tom

    Как одновременно использовать бмп и норм на швах и плитке?

      @ChaosCorona  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! Sorry, I don't understand the question (it translated as "How to simultaneously use BMP and norms on joints and tiles?" in case it's an error in translation). Could you post over on the forums please? That would allow things such as you sharing an image that shows the kind of effect you want to achieve, and that way we can better understand what you are looking to do. forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?board=29.0 would be the board for that. Thanks! Tom

      @@ChaosCorona Hello, thanks for the reply. I'm having difficulty with bump when using real world scale size 3DS MAX. If you check this box, then bump almost does not work (I use corona bump converter), you have to unscrew the bump value to the maximum. It is also unclear why bump only works when using the default output corona tiles map? If bump is output via output 1 or 2, then bump simply does not work (unlike Normal map). Thank you.

    • @ChaosCorona
      @ChaosCorona  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! Definitely sounds like something to post over on the forums, just in case there is a bug (as you mention it only working with the default output - though for me, it has worked fine in other outputs). Seeing some screen shots of your material set up, or better yet, having a copy of the scene, would be the best way we could move forward with answering the question - which is simply not possible here on the YT channel (not to mention the support team can't monitor comments here). So if you are able to do so, posting on the forums at the link given above would be the way for us to help you, or opening a ticket at support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new if you don't want to head to the forums, of course. Sorry I can't be of more immediate help here! Tom

      @@AndreiTheBadger Yes, it has nothing to do with the ACES color space, as that had to be supported within the native 3D applications (which it is now with the latest versions of Max and C4D, so support for that is coming in Corona 12).
