Nice one, thanks! Most of the visuals here are from the Final Chapter of the 2015 Trilogy held at Yokohama arena in December 2015. It was the song's live premiere. The MV has the studio audio, tho. Those are fox heads shaped as sphinx, probably as a tribute to Iron Maiden's Powerslave album cover. "The ONE" is considered a love letter to their fans, also known as The ONE. They were so amazed after their first world tour in 2014 by the overseas fans learning their Japanese lyrics to sing along that they wanted to do this one half in English and half in Japanese. And there is another version fully in English. It's a very progressive rock/metal ballad and it's supposed to be a sort of a spinoff from another song called "Tales of the Destinies". What do you mean this is the first time you've heard Su-metal actually singing aside of chanting? This is your ninth BABYMETAL reaction! 🤣 Here is more of her "actually" singing: "Akatsuki" (Live at Budokan Black Night): th-cam.com/video/g2372C5PJLM/w-d-xo.html hehe... 🤘🦊
You are also The One, we are all The One together, it's Babymetal and their fans all together are The One. Babymetal is the biggest Japanese act outside of Japan, but they keep working hard to make Babymetal bigger and it's working.
"She really is good at singing" - understatement of all time 😀 Seriously thanks for the reaction. Su is an absolutely top tier vocalist. Babymetal was basically put together around her vocal capabilities. She is frequently mentioned as a/the top female metal vocalist. They really have blown up around the world. They are in the middle of their second sold out US tour in the last two years. In the same time frame they have done two European tours, two Asian tours, a South/Central American tour, a festival tour, 6? big Japan shows and have a European arena tour (large capacity arenas all over Europe) next year. Plus a US #1 single on Billboard Rock chart this last summer.
Epic is a good description for this song and performance, great reaction.🦊The One' was the last song on the second album in 2016 (following straight on from 'Tales of the Destinies' which is their homage to Dream Theater's 'Dance of Eternity' - this song started life as part of that song but was separated quite early in the writing process). This was the version from the Japanese edition of the album, so it is the half and half English - Japanese version. The international edition has the full English version that the girls had challenged themselves to do as a mark of respect and appreciation to the foreign fans who they noticed had been learning Japanese to sing along with them as they toured the world. This is effectively their love letter to the fans (who they also named "THE ONE").❤ Being the official video this had the studio audio and of course you couldn't hear the crowd all singing along as you would in a live version. On The First Take when Momometal was revealed as the official third member last year, as part of that reveal they released an "unfinished" version ie it is stripped back with piano and strings only (also it is very much shortened having just the first verse). Legend S is possibly the best unfinished start going into the full version, Tokyo Dome had the extended full English version, Stairway to Living Legend probably the most emotional 'unfinished' version (a longer version of what they did on The First Take).
⚡ 💀 💕 /🔺 They had those three enormous statues behind them for the two nights at Yokohama Arena. Even though they were inspired by ancient Egypt (and the Iron Maiden Powerslave album cover), they were foxes, not cats. One cool thing they did was to light up all three foxes for most of the songs with Su, Yui and Moa, light up just one for Su's solo, and light up two for Yui and Moa performing as Black BABYMETAL without Su. When their producer Koba asked the BABYMETAL members what kinds of things they wanted to do on stage, Su said that she would like to fly. So they came up with the floating pyramid idea. Apparently, none of the members are afraid of heights. They said the most difficult thing was to stick to the choreography, when they really wanted to wave to the fans below. : )
I think they also said: we want to be closer to the fans. That was also incorporated. 🙂 Suzuka had some 5 years before went on a roller coaster and got scared and didn't want to go on an elevator anymore for a while. So she had a moment in a life when it was that different.
Great reaction! This is an amazing tribute song to all Babymetal fans, collectively known as, "The ONE". Also, you've never heard Su-metal's vocals being highlighted?? We gotta remedy that ASAP: *Akatsuki (Budokan 2014):* Su-metal solo + dueling guitars *Rondo of Nightmare (Budokan 2014):* Su-metal solo + Kami Band intro *Amore (Wembley 2016):* Su-metal solo, use "Babymetal Reactors Resource" for a logo version vs Copyright issues. *Monochrome (1st Take Version):* Stripped down, piano + strings, and Su-metal's incredible vocals. *Monochrome (Pia Arena MM):* The full version. 🤘🦊
Great reaction to a great performance. The footage from this show always blows my mind. The logistics of creating a pyramid carrying Babymetal over the heads of thousands of fans. Who does that...I mean other than Babymetal. You were so correct in calling this homage to BM's fans epic. The huge concerts like this are only-to date-held in Japan. I can hardly imagine the logistics of hauling this kind of stage setting on a world tour. Which by the way Babymetal are current'y on their seventh world tour.
Nice reaction! This song is a tribute to the fans. They also recorded and English version becasue they were touched by all the international fans who learned the Japanese lyrics to their songs. And I may be mistaken, but I think this is their only song that fades out.
Great reaction! Go Viking!! Those girls always look badass but you can also see in their eyes the love and appreciation they have for their fans. You can always be sure they will never take their fans for granted and will always give every effort. The lyrics for some Babymetal songs do get a little simple but I don't mind that. I don't need a lot of wordiness, unless the song specifically tells a story. Like Gimme 3 Steps by Lynyrd Skynyrd for example. Especially with The One, the message is that we are the one. Over explaining that with a lot of words only dilutes the message. :)
You mentioned the WWE, it just so happens that the song"Ratatata" that they did with Electric Callboy was chosen as the official theme song for WWE's" Bash in Berlin" held this past August. As well back in 2016" Karate"was was one of the theme songs for WWE's "NXT Takeover: The End."
Love watching your reactions, thank you! This is a perfect example of Su-Metal vocals when she is not in the middle of an olympic workout routine while singing.
Well they just announced their first European and UK Arena Tour. In May 2025 they will Tour for three weekd through European Arenas and in zhe O2 Arena they will probably Film a new Bluray.
This was rwally one Video: the one. When they rented the heavy lift equipment of their location. And this song had originally an even bigger Intro. Tales of Destiny. That was played only one time. It was their Demonstration that zhey can play prog Metal. This was their song for their Fans while they flott 2 Metern above zheir heads.
You can give Babymetal the very impressive beautiful made word ( Epic. ) Another famous Jpop heavy metal bands!!✨ Owns the next very totally awesome word!✨ ( Epicness! ) Passcode for epicness or passcode band. Their Fans are considered "The One". This a song for their fans... and because of so many over sea's fans they perform it in English for their English speaking fans.
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 BM and BM's fanbase accept anyone for who they are. This song is a kind of symbol of the unity. Some people says this song is a shade bit too repetitive. But in their live performance you feel as if the length of this song were only 30 seconds and want to listen to it forever. I witnessed it total 13 times at venues. Whenever they performed this song, I saw ethereal beauty and heard angelic voices. This 2015 version is amazing by Su's voice with juvenile beauty but her matured and richer voice in recent shows sounds like her embracing us all. As Grington300 commented below, there is a full English version of this song. If you do search in TH-cam with keywords "babymetal 2019 one Philadelphia" you will find a beautiful video.
There is so much lore surrounding Babymetal. If you haven't already, I suggest you watch a Babymetal guide video. So much to know about to fully understand what's going on. You could read the graphic novel "Apocrypha: The Legend of Babymetal"... But a guide video is so much easier. Try "th-cam.com/video/gDne0xwniTg/w-d-xo.html"
Thank you for watching, check out more of my Babymetal reactions next---------->th-cam.com/play/PLRlrK5dYLJwzVhncujKINl1ThabvStaHU.html
