It's not cringy at all, it just goes to show how simple a love song can be and that something as usual as playing a video game with your partner works just fine as a theme - it's the feeling that counts. We, as an audience, have just grown to hate love songs, because they're everywhere in pop music, and since we're talking about popular creators, you can never tell if their feelings are genuine or written down by someone else.

It really annoys me that almost all of the comments are just ‘oh well too bad they broke up’. If Joel came back to this video immediately after the break up, considering how sad he was, you’d definitely think that he wouldn’t want to be reminded by the comments that they’re not together anymore. And for the more recent comments, it’s just super irrelevant now. Overall, I’m just trying to say that Joel did such a nice thing and he shouldn’t have to be reminded about them not being together anymore.
