- A compilation of all the cutscenes of Tomb Raider 1, rendered in True HD 1080p, with the correct aspect ratio, along with all the FMVs, nicely upscaled and remastered into 1080p aswell. Hope you like it!
Back in 1996, this stuff was pretty damn good and impressive
And I'd go as far as to say, especially for the FMVs - the cinematic direction bests Anniversary's reimagining, ESPECIALLY the vision Lara sees when piecing the two pieces of the Scions together. That is one beautiful timeless cinematic masterpieces. With no dialogue, we get a sense of wonder and chills with the beautiful score.

Classic Lara had boatloads of personality. She actually only became a big tropefest with no real personality as Crystal Dynamics got their hands on her.
Like, say what you want about the 2018 movie, I could actually see Alicia Vikander's more emotional Lara as a character that becomes the hardened Tomb Raider of the classic games. Even after Shadow, I still can't see that from Survivor Lara.
Also she seemed so exhausted that pretty much she didn't have a choice.

Tomb Raider 1 was my very first game that I played on the PlayStation 1 back in 1996. I love Lara Croft and Tomb Raider. The classics five games on PS1 will always be the best.
TR1 is so much more intense than Anniversary... The level designs and details on the walls, floors, and other things -- despite being made with limitations in 1996 -- are superior in many other ways compared to modern engines. A lot of detail was lost in Anniversary's levels. I also think Lara's original voice was better, it has more character to it. Many of the wall murals throughout Peru, Greece, and Egypt are accurate. In Anniversary most of it is dull stone. The music is much more charming in the original TR and more intense, like when you would find something it'd give you music that made you feel you rediscovered the wonders of the ancient world. It was surreal and fascinating. Much of the time I'd take my time exploring all of the levels and looking at the work put into the architecture and wall, ceiling, and floor details. I'd read the legible text above doors. I love history and I love how Core went into great detail.

I do agree on most things but not everything! I think the way they told the story in anniversary was better and felt better to me. And I do like the new voice more because it sounds more unique but on the other parts I agree
Sander Los Agree, the story and acting was better in Anniversary. The game however wasn’t as fleshed out and detailed because Crystal Dynamics rushed through development
@@Sander_los The original tomb raider developers Core Design were originally going to remake the original game as Tomb Raider Anniversary Edition which I have seen pictures and videos of all over the internet and it looked more faithful to the original game than Tomb Raider Anniversary by Crystal Dynamics. Both versions must have been made at the same time but Core Design was being sold to another company called Rebellion and so Core Design's version was therefore cancelled has a result. Check out www.tomb-of-ash.com to find out more about the cancelled remake where you can see artwork and character models which were going to be in the game. Ash is trying to get Crystal Dynamics's permission to release Core's cancelled game.

I wish TH-cam would continue to monetize gameplay videos. I like it when it’s like this and you can enjoy someone playing the game compared to some geek blabbering over the game. It’s nice when you need that info but sometimes I want to just enjoy the experience. I hope they are able to work something out and thanks.

I know it's not relevant, but when i played this as an 8 year old i always thought how the wolves get in there. Not the bats they get in everywhere. Then lost valleys ok everything is off the table lets just play.
Before anyone translates, subtitle errors as follows: it should be "A little late for the prize-giving...", "tough end of the wishbone" and "...bump off me and my brood...". Loved this game back in the day, but I'd almost forgot how awful everyone's dialogue and acting was, except for Lara.
It’s “duff end of a wishbone”. You’re right, the dialogue and acting isn’t always the best (although I LOVE Natla’s final line read in her trial scene).

Chris you need to download TombATI, you can google it. And then on core design website you can find the remastered FMVs :)

I'm sure these looked good back then, but man these FMVs didn't age quite well.
They looked great back then but they aged quickly.
