    For experiment 9a Past paper question part (iv), shouldn't the line drawn be more towards the right? Meaning the reaction ends later, as the new concentration is less... so the reaction would be slower.. even the marking scheme shown in 15:41 says so.. I just want to make sure..
    Other than the confusion, I have found your videos really helpful.. Thanks a lot :)

    The line at 13:55 goes up with less negative gradient

    Thanks for the video :) I have a question 5:05, How did we know that the catalyst and the propanone is a first order reactants is it because we repeated the experiment several times and we used the initial rate table and their different concentrations in every experiment to determine their order or what?

    • @MissNatalieChemistry
      @MissNatalieChemistry  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes when you repeat the experiment several times and use different amounts of each substance you can work out the order with respect to this reactant. Please see the Topic 11 video for more explanation and examples on how to do this.

    At 13:25, the line drawn on the graph should actually be less steep and above the original line.

    9b experiment had a few mistakes:
    1. The equation only had H2O2, where did that S2O8^2- come from?
    2. Isnt 1/T frequency? And isnt rate is moldm-3s-1?
    3. In the graph, where did conc come from? I thought only volume was required to be distilled to 25cm3?

    Thank you for this video! but ill have to ask you please at 25:28 why did we plot ln(rate) not ln k against 1/t . because you said at 25:06 its ln k

    Hello miss, you keep mentioning multiple times in the video that core practical 9A appears in unit 3 and core practical 9B and 10 appear in unit 2. i am confused. isnt this unit 4 and/or unit 6 content?

    • @MissNatalieChemistry
      @MissNatalieChemistry  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Core practicals 9/10 appear in Unit 4 content and Unit 6 paper.

    Hi, Miss. At 4:00, why is there ethanoic acid being used? Is it supposed to be propanone?
    Also, I've relied on your content for my unit 4 and 5, these have been immensely helpful. Thank you a lot :D

      I believe its a mistake as it should be : CH3COCH3 + I2 -> CH3COCH2I + H^+ + I^-

    what is the purpose of the sodium peroxodisulfate in CP 9B????????? I don't see it in any equation?! We also don't add hydrogen peroxide in the CP 9B so where the heck does it come from in the equation? Edexcel is so freaking annoying, without explaining any thing in the book they just start listing shit out like we're supposed to already know!

    • @masumarahman2613
      @masumarahman2613 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Update: I figured it out from another video. If any other kid suffered like me, here's the explanation: the edexcel lab book uses Peroxodisulfate to release the iodine from the KI so it can react with the Thiosulfate. Alternately, instead of peroxodisulfate, you can also use H2O2 to release iodine. In this video, Miss Natalie uses the H2O2 equation which was confusing for me because in the edexcel practical they use Peroxodisulfate, so I was like where tf did H2O2 come from
