  • Another part of the series in the overall gameplay guide/tutorial.
    I will be introducing new techniques and tricks to learn throughout the year.
    Level: Advanced
    Simple and straightforward to the mechanic, we will learn how to switch between two weapons effectively but, for the main purpose, this tutorial will demonstrate how to establish a playstyle when using both different weapon and understanding how weapon switching can bring the gameplay to a different level.

    I have not seen this channel before, but i really liked the video! I am fairly good at doing the basic weapon switch attack, or flux. Many of the techniques i saw you do were really fast! You may benefit from doing some slow motion so viewers can really see the differences!

    Damn I just found your channel and I’m learning so much from just this one video! I just started using both weapons more often in combat thanks to Benzaitens Grace and the synergy that you mentioned of weapons covering each other’s weaknesses can be really powerful.
    Thanks for the video, definitely subscribing and looking forward to your other videos.

    Great video! One thing though, the hatchets can be used to mgflux2 weapon switch, even with timely guard, but they can’t guard weapon switch while idle, unlike the other 3 which suffer from both problems. I don’t blame you for the mistake though, the glitch is weird enough as is, and it is even weirder that it half affects the hatchet.

    • @LasttoLoad
      @LasttoLoad  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey you are right! I must have tested it in a weird way. What I did is only flux from low to mid when I was a mid, and I thought that would be the same for other weapons. Thats probably where I got mixed up but, then again, this problem is pretty weird. 😅

    I'm still seething that TN decided to make tonfa have the least compatible set of scaling stats of any weapon type...not being able to effectively run them with kusarigama anymore makes zero sense.

    • @LasttoLoad
      @LasttoLoad  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tonfa/kusa is still playable though. its ok not to have dedicated stat to scale both weapon as long as you can play effectively with those two weapons.

    • @ryujijitei
      @ryujijitei 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LasttoLoad Of course, I could still use it, but the nonsensical change to their scaling compatibility was a huge turn-off for me. Thankfully, I gave hatchets a shot and I actually like them more. Also loving splitstaff, since it's a sansetsukon (the weapon I'd been praying would get added sometime) on crack and at least shares Courage scaling.

    Awsome video, well done breaking down how ist works. I usually did the flash attack switch, Love to switch between high stance skills with the dual blades to low stance with the katana. But in the heat of a boss battle the flash attack sometimes left me open for attacks, with the flux-animation-skip I can avoid being, just great. Really well done Video 👍

    • @LasttoLoad
      @LasttoLoad  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Flash attack can be powerful, can be risky to use in the heat of battle so it is best to use when you feel safe to do so (like when they are out of ki or staggered).

    Thank you sir for the great video!
    I'm trying to practice fast Iai quickdraw and now I'm struggling to choose which style I should use.
    Switching weapon is fast and easy but we lose the buff we apply to the weapon and we need both weapons to be swords;
    Stepping forward (moving left analog stick) is also fast after evasion especially combining with evasion cancel, but I couldn't perform it consistently during the battle as it requires really precise input timing;
    I also just learned from your old videos that after dashing/evading we can press R1 and O twice quickly to do the sheath attack, but it still has a very short animation of sheathing making it just a little bit slower.
    Would love to hear your opinions on all of these choices!

    • @LasttoLoad
      @LasttoLoad  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can try to aim with your bow to automatically sheath your weapon and perform sheath attack that way. Camera can be janky but its one way to do it.
      The sheathing cancel between standing still (going forward) and R1+ O twice after evasion have the same animation speed. They are both equally fast to perform sheath attack.
      Another alternative is doing running attack first then R1+O. No evasion, but its fast and consistent.
      I personally do Running attack for sheathing attack or Evasion R1+O twice, but you can choose which method fits your playstyle the most.

    Currently using dual sword and katana. I'm struggling to do two things.
    1) weapon switch following certain active skills (such as the god of wind III combo). I try to flux following it and try to weapon swap (canceling flux with L1)
    2) flux II into weapon switch.
    Is the first one possible?
    What tips can you give for number 2?

    • @LasttoLoad
      @LasttoLoad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1) Yes you can. You can either switch with R1+O > switch weapon or Flux >switch weapon.
      2) flux ll is also possible. I suggest to do the input slow first before doing it fast so that you get the idea what you are doing. Also, you might be doing way faster than what the game allow you to so you may want to let the input register properly.

      Thanks for the response...I dont know why but I do better when actually fighting enemies.
      After combos such as god of wind I'll make a better effort to r1+O after the combos.

    Another great video in the series 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
    Regarding what you called "unbalanced state" on the enemy after doing spear flourish: This is one of those deep nioh mechanics that I think a lot of new players miss. In my mind I always categorized attacks into three different categories of stun on human enemies:
    Tier 1: Regular attacks that do regular hitstun
    Tier 2: Attacks that knock enemy off balance for longer (spear flourish, god of wind 3, etc.)
    Tier 3: Charge attacks that can knock some enemies on their ass ( Focused Strike, Twisting Spear)
    Would like to hear your thoughts sir sacredforce 🙏🏻

    • @LasttoLoad
      @LasttoLoad  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What I can tell you for sure is that, in Tier 1, there are 4 kind of hitstun from every different attack. There are Low, Mid, High and Back hitstun, and they each have their own recovery animation!

    • @bonhomme2867
      @bonhomme2867 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are also back attacks, which in Nioh 1 were between tier 1 and 2 (for example with several weapons you could do a whole mid stance light or heavy chain into a human's back, guaranteed), but those now seem less consistent, at least against certain human bosses e.g.Toshimitsu. Also worth noting that multi-hit attacks often seem to cut short tier 1 hitstun.

    • @LasttoLoad
      @LasttoLoad  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bonhomme2867 I did mention Back hitstun as Back attack (but we have different term to name it!)

      @@LasttoLoad ah yes I didn't see your comment, we must have replied at the same time. It's such a shame that the tier 2 stun was removed from some attacks, like Tornado's first hit and Tiger bite. oh well

    Is there anyway I could restart my game to change my weapons or do I have to push through and find new ones because my weapons are weak and I’m struggling

    • @LasttoLoad
      @LasttoLoad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you can usually find a better weapon on the way so i dont think you need to restart your game. you definitely need to update your gear if you are struggling (by equipping a weapon with high atk dmg).
