I have tested the gimbal with the S22 ultra for the last week. A couple of pointers and work around: For me the tracking of myself works by turning the camera around, so I am facing the back of the camera and then pulling the trigger. It then focuses on me and tracks me. Also, if you first start the 360 app and then open up the “normal” camera app of the phone with the insta app running in the background, you can use all video resolution settings, including 8k. Furthermore, you can even use the professional video mode, where you can set everything manually. The gimbal will work in that mode in terms of panning with the joystick, turning the camera around… what does not work is zooming or start or stop recording. You have to do this by pressing the record button on the screen. Finally, for zooming within the insta 360 app: instead of turning the wheel, if you quickly flick the wheel it jumps from one lens to the next.
Thank you for your experience with the Samsung S22 smartphone. I didn't understand one thing. Are you saying that even using the Insta360 app you can't zero/stop the recording and drive the zoom using the scroll wheel?
@@federicorossi903 This only refers to if you are using the video app from the phone which enables you to use the professional video settings. Very few creators are using 60fps in their uploads. I wouldnt avoid the buy because of it especially since you can just switch to the built in camera and get your 60fps with basic gimbal stabilization functionality.
There are downsides to 60fps too like worse low light quality.
Can you adjust the ISO and fps with insta360 flow using adnroid phone? Coz with OM6 there is no manual setting.
it worked on my google pixel 6 pro. just got it yesterday
Thanks for the test. I discovered it doesn't work so well with the S21 or note20 ultra. Zooming is terrible and quality with their 8X zoom is complete rubbish compared to the native camera.
I just got one yesterday and my phone is google pixel 6 pro, it can only use the main camera to record which is kinda bad because the ai tracking needs to use the ultrawide to recapture the subject if the ai losing it. it just make the ai tracking not much useful as I saw on the other using it with Iphone. I really hope they can fix this. thought is it hard because android have too much different phones, but at least they gonna make the flagship phone in this two years working better.
tira foto 360 no s23 ultra?
is 4k@60fps still not supported?
It does currently do 60fps on the s23 ultra. The s24 ultra I have now only does 30fps.
How is the compatibility with s22 ultra? I am planning to get a gimbal for my Aug Japan trip😂
Tested s22 ultra this morning and it's the same as my s23 ultra except the selfie front facing camera is limited to 1080p. Everything else the same including live mode not working well
Finally someone that test Flex with Android. Thank you! I purchased an earlier version of DJI gimbal and it worked very bad with Android. Afterwords I noticed that nearly all reviews was made with iPhone. I'm going to see how your further test is going before I maybe order Flow. I have a few other Insta360 products that works with the same app.
More testing in another video is now live
👌👌👌📸
Thanks brother….everyone seems to have iPhone on TH-cam…and I had Samsung…thanks
Bekomme mit S23 ultra ständig die Meldung dass die Achse ausgelastet ist. Mit iphone 13 pro ist alles ok.
My Pixel 6 only one lens works according to insta 360 compatibility charts. Its just not worth buying for my phone.
Usually, pixel has multicam access.. so probably, when zooming, lens will change automatically.. test needed
@@danilo2567 oh thanks - so still could be worth buying?
Yes please hohem m6 review it...
so sad there is no 4k 60, and the transition between lenses, mainly 1x, so bad...
Can it be fixed in software updates or is a hardware issue?
@@adz-ql6kv to a degree, software can be improved. Different OEMs expose different things with their APIs. For s23 ultra, I know all lenses are available in mcpro24fps and motioncam pro raw. Mcpro24fps has 4k 50 fps 10 bit, so it should be possible to insta360 to make available. Sometimes, OEMs has a "white list" to access certain features. So insta360 might need to contact Samsung and try to sort things out.
using app, you will lose the video quality from the phone. the gimble looks weak and swing
This gimbal is still not ready for Android phones, but heard with time they will update. Avoid for Android users just yet.
I'm using it with a humble S10 and it's working fine.
It’s working perfectly with android. I’m using s21 ultra and I’m not having any form on difficulties at all. Finally a gimbal that works well with android
@@darlbanc8651 Could you please tell me what gimbal that works well with android? I am having a Samsung S23 Ultra and I find it really difficult to research a about a good gimbal for my phone.
First thank you for doing this on a Samsung versus an iPhone
However it would have been nice if you would have played with it for several days to learn all the features correctly and how to use them, such as the zoom which you can zoom very quickly with once you know how! It also would have been a much better, smoother, more comprehensive video had you played with it and learned it prior to making the video.
Hey man, a big fat Thank You from India. Was looking for exactly this, the camera compatibility comparison with the DJI OM6. Now as it seems Insta 360 flow is the only option for me. Fellow Galaxy S23 Ultra owner.
Let's hope they will fix the app and stop calling the 0.6x camera, 0.7x camera as well as that jumpy transition from the Ultrawide to the wide. Also hoping they will let us use all 4 cameras together when shooting videos.
Best of luck for your TH-cam endever.
Thanks, and yes we are so close to perfection and just need a little tweaking from insta360.
It's just lazy work. If insta360 can utilize those lenses, DJI can too.
They just prefer optimizing it for Iphones because it's just 1 phone...there are no other iphone variants...lazy
selling my om6!
Gimme a few days to sell mine first! OM6 vs flow side by side comparison video is processing now... Should have live in an hour.
Why everyone use Iphone??? They got brainwashed hard
Android no 60 fps, insta is a big scammer, i have 2 phones poco f5 pro and mi 14 no 60 fps, stupid gimbal
"scammer"? As he mentioned, Insta states that it's 30fps for the Samsungs. Where's the scam?
it sucks
Could you turn off the auto mode? I can't set my ISO and shutter speeds manually on my S23, and it ANNOYS the shit out of me! :(
