these types of insanely obscure and completely unintuitive, arbitrary rulings by konami are so incredibly frustrating whenever they come up and i think i speak for a lot of people when i say that this kind of stuff leaves a really bad taste in players mouths and gives the game a bad reputation for annoying rulings that plague the game even though these situations are relatively niche.
also i could easily see this being the sort of thing that a judge at a lower level of play isn't aware of and in a worst case scenario could potentially allow the illegal play out of sheer ignorance to such a niche and arbitrary ruling, ultimately resulting in legalized "cheating"
yeah I agree, this is the king of thing that shouldn't exist. We've had this poison of a rule for over 10 years now and it never brought anything but frustration to players, while being so obscure that, as you said, several players were cheating without even knowing
At least they wouldn't upset as many people if you could find them IN THE FREAKING RULEBOOK, WHERE THE RULES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE FOUND
Cheating is a very strong word since the player might even know about the ruling themselves
@@bangster1869the legal phrase would be soft cheating.
Ie: you illegal play but wasn't intentional so the repercussions *(if any)* are much lighter
The Green Baboon ruling is one of the most nonsensical things in the game
fax
But why was it made?
@endeavor1299 that's what I want to know.
@endeavor1299 I believe it was to address a loop that you could do with Green Baboon, and it has stuck ever since.
@@jeremycarromero5302 then this could be the chance to replace it with an erratum of that card, if someone tells konami...
Been playing Fire Kings since forever and whenever I tried to do something similar in Master Duel I would only be able to summon 1 from hand. Now it all makes sense.
I forgot how to play Fire Kings in MD with the current roster available, what cards and combo are you using to get this situation again?
If you have 2 or more monsters that special summon it self upon seeing a fire monster destroyed, you can only special summon one of those
Im still excited for fire king so this is a really important ruling fire king players have to know, it also applies to dark hole dragon and a bunch of other cards
but raging phoenix isn't include on the list which is a good news
Thanks for the heads up. I didn't know this ruling and I am currently building this deck.
Always appreciate videos like this.
Thank you 🙏🏼
my pleasure brother!
Thank you very much for the golden information.. I now understand the reason why I cannot summon two monsters in the same chain
Does this also apply to if you have ponix in hand.
thank you for that information
So would this be the same as taking battle damage from an attack and then trying to activate battlin boxer veil and mahaama the fairy dragon at the same time?
Thanks to anyone that can answer.
what aboyt the ocg ? and master duel?
Cl1 aruha cl2 garunix would work, right? Since aruha summons a different monster?
Does this also happen with gazelle and exceed?
If Kirin uses its effect from hand does this mean Garunix cannot be summoned by the destruction Kirin causes? Since that would be 1 trigger for 2 hand summons? (Kirin and Garunix)
Also I’m really interested when the new yubel support comes to yugioh master dule also fire kings do work well with yubel
How can special both?
@@207fatman that’s easy you just use the field spell and then you have it destroy a yubel and then you can go through they cycle of yubel
I figured this was universally understood, oooof
Why can’t i SS ponix when Hita the fire charmer is destroyed?
Melffy still works because different chains 😺
Would this be the same if you have Dark Hole Dragon in the hand or grave?
Yes, there's an official ocg ruling with exactly garunix and dark hole dragon
I wouldn’t consider this cheating like the title insists, but merely lack of knowledge. Im glad he made this video so people just learning fire kings can understand this too and also people who will play against it.
Unfortunately, unessesary anger in the title is what brings in the clicks.
@@OmegaChase1002 facts
Is this ruling somewhere written in the rulebook? Or is just some nonsense that konami came up with at some random point?
The second one
@@Salati00 aren't all rulings basicly the second one outside of rulings that nobody has issues with past literal 2 year olds + missing timing
smashed the like button for ya
❤️❤️❤️
I’m wondering if Hanumans effect didn’t trigger because it wasn’t in the hand during the destruction. Could you possibly test it with hanuman in hand? 🤔
No that has nothing to do with it, I already clearly explained why it doesn't trigger. This isn't speculation, but rather an official rule
Question: can i Special summon ponix in the same chain as garunix? If one fire king is destroyed? Or is the result as the video?
Nah you can't, ponix, garunix and hanuman are all the same. You can only chose 1
Thanks a lot. And i guess i did cheat a couple of times😅 but I didn't know about those rules.
@@yacine656but if for example ponix was being summoned with arvatas effect is it ok?
So this is a official ruling? Is is written down somewhere?
yeah of course it's official, and no idea where it would be written, but it has to be somewhere
OCG Ruling database, Green Baboon ruling
Is this ruling from OCG or TCG ? Or both ?
well doesn't matter, it applies for both, but it might originate from OCG
Is this also the case for ponix or is that somehow different?
same thing for ponix and barong as well yep!
We want some Edison content :D
It's like gazzel and exceed
Slightly different, since Garunix can summon from grave
@@christianflora2316 it's the same ruling 2 trigger effects 1 window
@adagilb2111 Yes, but the Salad ruling is at least a bit more straightforward since they both trigger in hand
❤
Imagine being new to this game?
would be ROUGH honestly
Dam does that make the new level 4 fire monkey kinda bad?
absolutely, I despise that card and truly believe Arvata is infinitely better
it's spell/trap arvata without an effect on destruction, of course it's bad. arvata is already barely salvageable as a card.
I called it when I first read the cards because it was so obvious just by reading them. /s
😜
welcome to the 1% club of people who are aware of these rules and interactions, because I can guarantee you practically nobody else is haa :')
Wtf is this? This really is some obscure sh1t. Thank you for the info.
Ah, Yugioh... So easy to play and understand. s2
FIRSTTTTT 🔥🔥🔥🔥 ON SE VOIT BIENTOT FRERE❤️
oh mondouuuxxx!!!!😍😍😍 absolument mon frère j'ai trop hàte tu sais déjà!!!!!
You said "when"
Yugioh rulings are complete doodoo 💩
Just normal summon the level 4 fire king monster🤦♂️ problem solved…..
Another video that you’ve posted incorrect information. This has been cleared up by Konami. You can in fact use these effects simultaneously.
Source? I'm 100% positive you're wrong
Source? I'm asking because dueling nexus only allows for one summon.
@@kevinlee5753 yeah can only summon one, that guy's just hatin
