One question, in windows, could a person with full access to the machine compromise Vera's system?

think you should record/run vm in 1920 x 1080 - as that's were most witll be confusing content (yes I have a widescreen but I want to follow along without watching in full screen - text here v.small!)

Hi. Thank you for this short video on Veracrypt. I used the program in the past when it was still known as TrueCrypt. As I recall, it was possible to use a a container file of a predefined size (10GB etc) and save files to that container file as if it were a drive. You video here demonstrates to use a USB stick. Since becoming Veracrypt has the option to create a container file been done away with? Thanks.

Hiya there. You can still use the container function just as you could when it was TrueCrypt. It's the first option when selecting what type of encrypted variable you want (container, partition or external drive, and whole disk encryption).

@@thetitansuite Great! Good to know this. Reason being is, IIam thinking to make a container file and maintain iit in my Google Drive account. This way, I can access it anywhere while at home, on the road, or our upcoming cruise. I try to stay away from using USB sticks iin this day and age of much better performing SSDs (M.2 2238) which can just as easily be carried aruond in lieu of a slow-as-molasses USB2/3 stick. 😊😊

Thank you so much for this instructional video! It was easy to follow, but I have one question... it sound stupid but I don't know if my USB drive was encrypted or not. I can still open the drive w/out the password I set on my computer (where I made the encryption). I don't have any files saved on the USB drive, but does it matter? Do I need to try to use it on a different computer? 🤔

Something went wrong in the setup process and your drive was not encrypted.

Hi when i mount my Veracrypt it says "This folder is empty" when i try to use the hidden file i did all the steps in this video

I want to use a 4GB usb drive just for my documents.Is is possible with this app. And does it have a plug and play solution where I can plug into any unknown device and use it or do I have to install veracrypt on every device.

It is recommended that you use a larger device. And yes VeraCrypt must be installed on the system to unlock the device.
