Beautiful version. Makes me homesick for the UK. I live in Paris and this makes me feel very nostalgic. I had the chance to work with the Housemartins on their video of ' Think for a minute' shot in a recording studio in North London where I'm from. The day ended up with a kick about with the band in a playground near by. Great bunch of lads all of them. Things felt simple back in the 80's. The UK is a great place with so much talent despite the underfunding of music and the arts by successive governments. The words to this are so very poignant !

The One you did some years ago by Embrace was another one of those. As good as everything else is, these are special for some reason.

Just the right touch of everything - perfect key for her range, perfect tempo, _love_ the right-hand octaves - that just makes the piano part. And the instrument itself is tamed down so as not to sound harsh as digital pianos often do. Even the little gliss at the beginning of the chorus and intro is just the right touch. But mostly, the sensitivity of the vocal - you _believe_ this tune when it's coming out of someone's mouth like this. It doesn't sound insipid or childish - it sounds tender and sincere. Voice quality is _so_ beautiful, too. I don't know how she managed to pick this particular song/track to go after and "fix" but I'm glad she did - everything it lacked it has now. When you accompany yourself, it is about more than just learning the lyrics, you have to learn the music. As for the dancing, I seen to recall you doing a bit of that when you did "Merry Christmas Everyone" which disappeared. The only Christmassy thing left is "Santa Baby" which is very, very good. Damn, just looked over here at the list of stuff on the right and there was something called "A Snapshot of Scotland:" by Zuni. Been up 2 months and I have somehow missed it. Need to check it out. Went over there and I apparently had seen it and commented on it. Oh well, another watch didn't hurt as it was just as enjoyable.
