I have said this before, but will do it again for this song as i am back listening again. Every once in a while a song will come along that just grabs you and pulls you in. This is one of those. The One you did some years ago by Embrace was another one of those. As good as everything else is, these are special for some reason.

Well, it's been a while since I have really listened closely to the Housemartins, but...on the pop side, the song "Five Get Overexcited" and "The People Who Grinned Themselves to Death" are outstanding. On the slower, more heartfelt side, their song, "Johannesburg" is wonderful. But, honestly, I think "Build" is far and away their best!
Another one I keep coming back to. This is one that just gets better when I listen to it. Nice touch showing the keyboard work. You did this quite well. :-)
Beautiful version. Makes me homesick for the UK. I live in Paris and this makes me feel very nostalgic. I had the chance to work with the Housemartins on their video of ' Think for a minute' shot in a recording studio in North London where I'm from. The day ended up with a kick about with the band in a playground near by. Great bunch of lads all of them. Things felt simple back in the 80's. The UK is a great place with so much talent despite the underfunding of music and the arts by successive governments. The words to this are so very poignant !

But if you keep your house cold/er than most folks like I do, then that could be the cause. And if you don't have a bulb that's putting out correctly (enough heat to make the Lava Dance like when it was brand new) then this might be the problem. My old Lava Lamp from 1971 is still bubbling along just fine. But in the Winter (which is now - here in the USA for most of us) it does take it a little longer for it to get going good, like, more than an hour or so. @@zuni - I can remember you working with tracks rather than accompanying yourself and they were good. When you accompany yourself, it is about more than just learning the lyrics, you have to learn the music. As for the dancing, I seen to recall you doing a bit of that when you did "Merry Christmas Everyone" which disappeared. The only Christmassy thing left is "Santa Baby" which is very, very good. Damn, just looked over here at the list of stuff on the right and there was something called "A Snapshot of Scotland:" by Zuni. Been up 2 months and I have somehow missed it. Need to check it out. Went over there and I apparently had seen it and commented on it. Oh well, another watch didn't hurt as it was just as enjoyable.

I have been so surprised at how many people visited this track Charlie as it is not a well known song. Well, I don’t think it is! This was the last one I did for about four years! I will eventually go back to accompanying myself like this but for now I want to have some fun singing 😉😉😉😘😘😘
@@zuni - I had not heard this before you put it up. I liked it the first time I heard it, then it just got closer every time I listened to it. It is nice when you accompany yourself, but you do well with tracks too.
I will go back to playing eventually but I can get so much more done when I just sing and output is important to keep the momentum. Hope to do some dancing videos soon also 🤣🤣🤣
@@zuni - I can remember you working with tracks rather than accompanying yourself and they were good. When you accompany yourself, it is about more than just learning the lyrics, you have to learn the music. As for the dancing, I seen to recall you doing a bit of that when you did "Merry Christmas Everyone" which disappeared. The only Christmassy thing left is "Santa Baby" which is very, very good. Damn, just looked over here at the list of stuff on the right and there was something called "A Snapshot of Scotland:" by Zuni. Been up 2 months and I have somehow missed it. Need to check it out. Went over there and I apparently had seen it and commented on it. Oh well, another watch didn't hurt as it was just as enjoyable.
