I own a 2023 model and changed the handlebars direct for 14" apes. Put Kahuna heated grips on it. SE Streetcanons and a Stage1 tune! A Freedomshields 18" windscreen, rear crashbars and some small things. It is very capable and very fast in the mountains:-)) Lovely scenery btw....Here in Holland it's boring, flat and raining since 8 months now!!!! (go I forgot...I changed the rear shocks for 13" instead the stock 12".....more stroke, more clearance, more comfy)
I bought the 2023 Roadking S, phenomenal bike. Mine has the 117 in it tho. Wonder if it is different because mine's a US bike. Yeah, love the acceleration, and the nimbleness. Immediately changed exhaust to a set of Neighbor Haters. Has a great rumble to it now. Definitely glad I bought it.
Fantastic content - fantastic bike! I’d keep the Breakout too!! When I said I want one of these or other HD tourers to my wife she suggested I wait until I’m older. 😊
I think it’s a suited bike for the elder rider Which I’m only a few years off Extra cam and some more power and it’s a contender But I loveeeee my breakout toooo much 🤣🤭
Traded my 2023 LRST Fast J (awesome paint scheme) for 2023 RKS w 114 Stage 1 (believe all '23s have 114). Hands down I prefer the RKS cuz i'm 6'6" and even with mods could never get comfortable on the LR. It was a beast, though. The RKS even with stage 1 cannot compete. All that said, I love the RKS package as a whole. Fast enough, very comfortable, handles great and looks fantastic especially sans windshield.
Awesome bike Harley’s nicest bare bones bagger. Not a fan of the big old fairings on the street or road glides. I’ve got a ‘21 RKS and absolutely love it. Handles and rides great but first upgrade I did was 16” apehangers didn’t like the feel of the stock bars. I would definitely buy another RKS if I was buying a new bike again
As an Italian biker I can't complain about the variety of landscapes around me here, but the particular English landscape, its light and its sky are things that are missing here and that deserve to be seen at least once in a lifetime.
Great vid. I think ‘refinement’ is the word you’re looking for. I have the 107 RKS with 465 cam and Öhlins suspension. Fantastic bike with great performance. I had the Low Rider ST on test the other week whilst mine was in for a service and it was fun, but for me the touring chassis is just so much better. With a torque cam the 107 is much punchier low down than the stock 117 in the Low Rider ST. I think you’ll probably like the ST though. It’s lighter and more aggressive. I have a sportsbike for those days so sitting back and chilling is the order of the day on the Harley
Great vlog maka. Ive just purchased a softail slim from riding a 1200 sporty and this was my exact thoughts word for word. Its nice to ride, handles well and leans even though it has floorboards. Its just missing something. Its fitted with a 107 so should be faster. Ive always said Harley only give you half a bike! You have to buy what you like to make it yours. 119 should do it. Thankyou California!!😂😂😂
Always liked the road king 114 I think it was 2020 they brought a midnight blue paint job out that looked black until the sun light brought the blue flake out so very cool I keep toying with the idea of buying a road king but do you go new or and older model for more character and cooler looks it’s a toughy
I’d buy one with the 114 engine that’s already been stage 1 or stage 2. With that extra power, the road king s would be perfect. I’ve seen the midnight blue and it’s a beauty. My fav is the 2018 model that was in the olive green colour 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
I assure you that the 114 is everything you need. I have owned the 107, 114, 117 and have ridden the 121 CVO ST. It all depends on the application but I can 100% tell you that the 114 on the RKS is the best performing engine/chassis in the entire lineup. My Street Glide ST felt slow and it had the high output 117....not even close to the same power as the RKS mostly due to weight. A stage 1 will add 30HP and that will make the RKS amazing. I have a 2024 RKS and had a Low Rider S......the Low Rider S does not come close in power to the RKS, nowhere near as smooth. The RKS corners better than the Low Rider as well....I actually hated my Low Rider S. There has to be an issue with the RKS you are riding if you are saying it has no snap......just 2 days ago we raced the new CVOST against the RKS and the RKS walked it until 100mph.
Tbh I had just got off a rocket 3 and took the standard RKS out. It handles amazing!! But I stand the performance feeling flat. AND I believe it needs to breathe. The standard M8 units are flat until you start opening them up with retunes / cams and exhausts. I’m still contemplating getting one as it ticks all the boxes for me.
@@MakaJerycho So I just purchased a 2024 Low Rider ST and I also own the exact 2024 Road King Special from the vid. These are my two favorite HD's ever made. I think I have owned 8 HD's over the years. It has been an interesting comparison between the two. I love the raw nature of the LRST and I also love the smoothness and refinement of the RKS. Both are totally different machines but equally awesome at what they do. I have owned Street Glides and Road Glides and they are amazing but for riding in TN like the Dragon etc. the ride to the Dragon is great but once you get there the SG and RG are just less fun. Now I also own a few Ducati's, KTM's etc built for the Dragon but I live 4.5 hours away and do not want to sport bike it for 5 hours and be worn out when I get there.....they are usually trailered. That being said, the RKS is so much lighter in the front end and can be whipped around corners (within lean angle specs) but the real beauty is that I have a detachable wind splitter windshield that provides easily as much wind protection as the batwing or shark nose. However, once I get to the Dragon I remove the windshield and all of the excess and now the Dragon becomes fun. The LRST is the same thing and probably better for the Dragon but less fun to munch miles, although not bad. That is the choice between the two but they both do everything really well. The RKS will be much better for long distance Highway and the LRST will be better for aggressive riding. I am personally not a fan of the new HD's, they cant just reduce the price $5-$6k and not cheap out on things. I have ridden the new ones and they do feel lighter but also cheaper. Not a fan of the new Honda/Indian vibe......I am glad I was able to buy the last great iteration of the RKS.......the new ones look just as lame as the other new models. Cheers!
Apart from the modern teeaks like ABS I will stick to my 05 twin cam ( have a look ) meantime , I prefer the SG to the newer kings I have to say. My stock pipes and even my horn sound better than the new.😂 Appreciate the insight bro. 👍
Those handlebars are all wrong for that bike. Should be flatter and pulled back. WTF was HD thinking. And that bike is INSANELY overpriced. You’d have to be high to pay $23k for that. LOL

It would be even better with a stage 2 torque cam 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

It would seriously benefit from the 117 or at least a stage 1 114 minimum
Handles like a dream

You need the 117, improved oil pump design and more power. You need a Street Glide or Road Glide to be honest.
Personally I like a bike that’s naked up front with a quick release shield. RK classics / RK specials
@@MakaJerycho right on 👍 for us here in Detroit just love a tach at a minimum

The RKS defo suit your frame at 6’6!!!
I can imagine the LRST would be too small.
Add a stage 2 torque cam!!! It’ll change the game with the RKS
Love the RKS...But HD wants to much money for it....I will wait to get a low mileage used on that already has aftermarket exhaust and a windshield...
Good plan

I love that you use body capacity as a way to measure how much room the saddle bag has. Good vid man!
What else do you need a bagger for, if it’s not to carry chopped up body parts across state lines 🤣🤭
With a stage one and a good tune this bike is much meaner. I love mine RKS. Thanks for the video 👍🏻👊
It defo would benefit from a stage 1
The handling and lean is all there
Just needs that extra spice
I’m thinking a 131 and ohlins out the door would be just hilarious and frightfully perfect.
