I think the orv chassis version is superb because it's so odd! I think tamiya need to re-release it on the orv frog chassis👍

I got this kit a few months ago from Jadlam for £160, great value considering that it comes with a ball diff and oil shocks as standard. I think it's probably my favourite Tamiya chassis too, it handles really nice. I did make 1 small change when building it though, I left out one of the two spacers they tell you to fit in each shock, just to give it a bit extra height & therefore ground clearance. It is a rally car after all. One thing to watch out for: the front & rear wheels are different, easily missed 🙄

The Lancia 037 rally is and will be the most iconic rally car that has been designed by Pininfarina. I have a 58040 Lancia Rally newly built but not painted with unused original stickers and a 58278 Lancia 037 Rally (Ltd. Ed.) built on a TA03RS chassis. They are a decoration inside the TV room :)
I might have to find an 037 Rally of my own. I have a Porsche 911 GT2 Road waiting to be built.
I have a wife and 3 kids I love them dearly but I’d swap for that Mercedes…..I found the Lancia decals a struggle wish I’d seen the water technique first 😂

Love this. I loved the body of the original, but the cartoon proportions of the chassis ruined it for me. This is what it should have always been
Recently my mom rang and asked if she could give all my old RC cars to the charity shop that she had kept in the loft, I had no idea she still had them.
I've collected them and have around 10 cars. My plan was to fix them back up, that was until I saw the price of spares on eBay.
Does anyone know a better place I can get them?

Looking forward to seeing this.I got an original one off EBay about a month ago.The chassis is in great condition but the body has been repaired below the windscreen.Then about a week after I saw one with a brand new body with stickers and I won that.

Ahhh, this is a nice kit, BUT I was hoping for a true re-release, just as it was. I know it not anywhere near scale, but I like the big wheels/tires .. imagine the Brat with a new chassis and small wheels /tires, that's not really a re-release.
I absolutely love the Lancia 037, one of the best looking rally cars ever. I had one late last year then sold it thinking I wouldn't use it, I really regret it now, but I wasn't going to go box art, I was going to make it look like a US police car😜
I've just built this model, and it's superb for display. Really detailed body, however drivabilty wise the Frog chassis original is more accurate being rear wheel drive like the real car. I guess you could remove the prop shaft..Still think it looks suberp though.
Tamiya has a habit of releasing historic 2WD rally cars on 4WD chassis. Ruins it for me. I'm super familiar with the 037 and it was a tail wagging RWD car in real life.
Is the original driver the same as the one from the Brat?

It’s not a bad kit coming with a hard body, driver cockpit, mirrors, wipers, motor and ESC.
Love it! I just built a tt02s audi quattro rothmans with working fog lights and rally cockpit. Would love to do one of these! Is it possible to convert to rwd??
Lancia rally body was re-made for the ta03Rs in 2001. The car was re-released on a ta02s chassis in 2018.
I like this kit Gavin and I loved all the Lancia rally cars back in the day!! I agree, there's a lot of excellent detail in there and it should be standard practice. Looking forward to the build. I have just received my LC Racing PTG-2 Lancia Delta Integrale and wow what a car!!Thumbs up my friend!👍
