    The shell is two pieces upper and lower, the trim just covers up the line where the two pieces join together. Splitting the shell into two pieces makes it possible to lay up the fiberglass molds.

    Hi Frank, Alex, Everly and Taco ❤ I love watching your channel. You keep it so real. New Parents balancing the build with a new baby, you are doing amazing. You don't sugar coat anything. I am looking forward to seeing the camper when you restore it to it's former glory. Hugs to everyone, even Taco ❤

      Thanks you. We do have people around us that are great but as for people watching the baby that is all us. We are really just non stop and that is why we are start to feel super tired. Also why we are getting a video out every week but they tend to come out on different days. I think we will catch our groove soon. Thanks again for your support.

    Great sticktuitiveness, Frank! Looks good. I think I would have used some penetrating spray and soaked those screws first and maybe used a little lubricant when getting that trim piece in the channel. Alex, the Bohemian look becomes you!

    Yeah, I think maybe "the look of it." All those Toyota RVs had those, with a plastic trim inserted. There are some Toyota RV/Sunrader groups on Facebook. All the plastic in those strips have pulled away over the years. So now the question is What to put back in that track? Oh, look at you. At 5:45, already got the plastic filler. Good for you! I'm so impressed.

    • @FnAVanLife

    for installing the vinyl insert, dont install one edge first and then the other. Take it whole, squeeze it in half hotdog style with you hand and put both ends in at the same time.

    • @ryansanyt
      @ryansanyt ปีที่แล้ว

      also, the aluminum trim piece simply covers where the two clamshell halfs meet. I did the same thing as you in that i tried to replace all the rusted screws, but I dont think it was worth the effort. On the inside both the halfs are fiberglassed together (you can see this the easiest when you look at the rear tail lights from the inside - this is why the tips of the screws break off when you try to take them out, because they are fiberglassed in.

    • @ryansanyt
      @ryansanyt ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also, i know you did the butyl tape on the windows but i advise that you get some captain tolley's creeping crack cure and use it around the glazing bead on the windows on both the outside and inside. The glazing beads tend to leak through...
