Nothing worse than water issues, likely not drained/maintained when last put away. We always used the big water cooler jugs for drinking and cooking. Good thing you all had the Waterdrop system to get you through ! Look forward to seeing you get it sorted 👍

PS if the RO system shows any signs of slowing down it is time to change the filters.

I'm so sorry, but I laughed so hard watching you two trying to get the black water tank into the back of the truck. I have loaded motorcycles and 4 wheelers in the back of trucks, so I suggest you use a ramp, even if it's plywood. You make my day!!!

The plug is an anode rod that need to be replaced and that can make all the debris in your water, the sediment. Open your low drain plug and let it all run out and start over.

Oh, my! Smelly water. I'm so sorry! Even water that's healthy (I'm thinking of the well on my grandmother's farm in Minnesota) can smell so bad you have to add Kool-Aid! Just focus on how sweet your life will be when you've conquered these barriers.
And now for my shallow comment of the month: Your hair looks FABulous, dahlink! And I'm downright giddy when I see Everly walking. Much love to all of you.

To empty your black tank...put a macerator put on the outlet for the black water. Put the tote in the back of truck. Hook a designated water hose on the macerator pump and pump black water to tote in truck. No more lifting tote to dump.

Check your sisters' house for a clean out for the sewer. You can dump into that . If she's on septic tank you can put one of these in.

RV living is so FUN! (in a sarcastic tone) I lived in one for a year while i remodeled my house in Maine and now I have one at a seasonal campground so I use it off and on for 6 months out of the year. I bought a used one this year and ive never had so many problems with one!, so I feel your pain. I've been getting through them one by one. But im still fixing all the water supply issues as well, i think im taking my conventional water heater out and putting in an on demand water heater that runs off propane

We dump our black and gray water in our septic tank at home and when staying at family’s property. Just open the septic clean out and poor it in. It also looks like your freshwater drain is clogged. It should come out a lot faster. Use a little wire to stick in the valve to try to clean it out. Then use a little bleach to sanitize your tank.

What I do in my Van conversion is everyone's in a while. I clean my 3 gallon holding tank. I put a little bit of chlorine bleach in about a gallon of water. Flesh it through the whole system so that the tubes get cleaned from the inside because otherwise I don't want to drink it. But I would suggest doing a really good clean. If you've had or get a new one, but you've got to look at your plumbing as well. So run a cleaner through it. And clorine bleach works great and then you just flush i, Of course. That's all once. You've got it emptied out, rinsed out.Cleaned out , then you do that as the last step

You could look into a 12vdc Macerator Pump, to pump that sh*t out to the tank that is already in the back of the pick up. Some of them can even pump a fairly long distance if the septic tank is an option.

Well, I am glad you figured out the anode rod! Keep an eye on it in the future..once it gets a little chewed up, replace it. Also, don't forget to use the pressure relief valve on the tank before removing the plug! ( again, something you figured out on your own!). I'm sure there are great responses about the bad smell in the hot water. My last trailer had the same issue , if water sat for more than a week it would smell stagnant. I never fully figured it out. Just make sure you are using your hot water a lot ( even if you have the Heater off, use the hot water tap , so that fresh water circulates into the tank)

  • @brianjacobus722
    @brianjacobus722 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Hey guys if your sister has an outside clean out for their septic , you can dump directly into there, that’s what we do at our house . Also your hot water tank is possibly the problem with the smell as it probably has not been flushed well enough, I would suggest when you travel, and dump your tanks at a regular dump station there should be potable water you can fill flush and refill several times, or even somewhere at some one’s house with good fresh water, no smell, also make sure it also flushes the hot water tank

If your sis has a septic system, there should be a clean out spout that’s between the house and the septic, it looks like a white pvc pipe sticking up with a lid on it. You can dump the black tank there. The spout should be the same size as your black tank hose. Good luck

Anode rods have to be checked annually and replaced as needed. When the plumbing smells like rotten eggs, it's also time to sanitize the system. (They are called slide outs, not pop-ins, unless that is a Canadian term. 😂. Being parked in a field, you can expect mice and critters, if you are parked for long term. ( I offer this info for your viewers as I suppose you know this.) Can you dig a big hole on the property, back your trailer up to the hole, and dump the waste water into it? 🤔

the tank really needs to be full when you empty it, and also need to use a lot of water in your black tank to avoid the teepee effect. if there isn’t enough water in there solids will just pile up and cause clogs which are extremely hard to get rid of once it happens!

Okay- so I don’t know your specific water system- but you may need to sanitize your fresh water tank with bleach. Also check any inline filters (for my rig it’s a filter housed inside near the water heater). I hadn’t changed mine in 2 years and I had green algae in mine- and I always filter my water coming into the fresh water tank! Since you have a KOA membership- I recommend staying a night or 2 to dump the tanks, sanitize the system, and have a fresh go- until you have to dump tanks again.
Also- I toted one of those portable tanks for a year and never used it!

    Here’s their video about it
8:59 suggest waste tank system but the real action is at about 16:50 and he dumps the tank at the very end using gravity. I hope it helps! Love you guys ❤
