I find the way he sits at the piano very shocking, but I think his interpretation of this piece is absolutely amazing. It sounds really beautiful. He barely hits the keys to get exactly the sound he wants. So difficult to do. He is really good at playing Bach, but he is just amazing at playing Schubert.

    • @tia904

Shocking, yes, he will look as bad as Glenn Gould over the years, terrible for him. And he will have a lot of pain, even virtuoso have backs that will complain sooner or later. No reason for this. It doesn't look good, either.

Very few can play Schubert with this sensitivity . His variety of tone might be called fussy here by some but it has more charm than many achieve in a lifetime . His color, pedaling and ability to get just the exact dynamic he wants show like Andrewsky he is a very thoughtful pianist ! Look at how he plays that C with a straight finger - he can do that as few of you commenting will ever be able to o because his instincts , practice and training have given him experience and knowledge of a the very few !

    At last !
When an interpretation is over and it still remains something elevating in you, this is the sign to recognize shallow plays from « whole understanding » plays.
It has a purpose that goes beyond piano, and contribute to your life.
