We have one and it does work. Great job with your video! I was trying to remember which way was to turn the switch for 24 hour or 12. Again thanks for taking one for the team!! 🤗
Currently at my mother-in-law's in Puerto Rico up in the mountains. Looks like we have the same pests, mosquitoes and termites. Got the one that's half the size of what you have. So far my wife said she heard four or five pops. Bringing it indoors for a bit because there's some mosquitoes we want to get rid of.
I got mine last weekend from Lowes! I was primarily concerted about the number of moths laying larvae in the lawn. The larvae would eat through the grass causing the grass to look like it was cut very low. The grass would then die. My secondary concern was mosquitoes. Note that I said was...
Well it became so encrusted with dead bugs right away, I couldn't tell you if they were mosquitoes or not. But it certainly kills lots of insects quickly.
Ours worked the first year and now it doesn't even with a new bulb. I'm going back to Flowtron brand since the bugs fall through instead of piling up and having to be blown out with the compressor.
I just took some small snips and cut out the inner portions of the plastic grates giving a larger pathway. The 4500 w is plenty & works better without the grate in the way.
+SheetRockGirl Hey SRG, I'm glad we got a big one because we have tons of bugs. Should see when a poor Gecko gets zapped. It stays on till it completely burns. Thanks for checking out the video!
+iworkforbudlight Oh cool! We always felt lucky when a huge moth would get zapped, the buzz would last for such a long time lol, I hope PETA doesn't come after us
I just bought 1, still in the box. I think I will return it after watching this vid. near the end of the vid you said you wish there was a self cleaning system......The zappers made in the 70s and 80's did just that for the most part....They had like 4 times the power and would smoke any bug in the grid.....Now we live in a world of no common sense zombies and or free loaders that will sue for anything and everything.....Now these company's need to make Child and or idiot proof devices...In this case under powered crap to be safe from lawsuits.....I live in zombie land!
I own one all the bugs actually fall off the bottom latch area. Maybe in this guys case since it was way extreme compared to were I live I have never had to clean it out. I live in California.
that uses a mesh grid to kill bugs...the Flowtron models are better since they use solid metal bars that do not get clogged, because the bugs get fried and just fall off :)
You said your old one was 100 watts. The Black Flag is only 40 watts. I think you're confusing 5500 volts for watts. Running a 5500 watt bulb all the time would cost you a LOT of money.
Wont kill mosquitoes or anything small, the main reason I bought was for the mosquitoes and other small biting insects guess what the mesh is spaced out too much, mostly for bigger bugs. It will attract lots of bugs but it wouldn't kill them. Put this lamp over a table or on the floor over night. Come back in the morning and lift up the lamp, you will see a huge amount of bugs under alive, since they only got attracted by the lamp and when sun comes out they hide under. Mosquitoes laugh at this lamp. Still in the search for a true mosquito killer 🙏
Unfortunately, I am not sure because we have a lots of them. We live next to a mountain and it rains here daily. It wacks everything else very good. We have been getting so many termites right now that it clogged the grid and it keeps shorting the circuit. It's time for a cleaning. Thanks for watching and commenting
Ok ok ok I bought on e and had not choice but to exchange for another came out one morning after the sensor shit it down for dusk the top metal Handel next to it was melted the top raised up I took it back immediately. Only had it a week and I did kill a lot of mesquites but that risk of a home fire is absolutely there I had to take it back but there was no since of getting a refund just will keep exchanging them.
This zapper is shit compared to the previous one Lowes sold. The bug has to go between the first screen and make contact with both at the same time and the gap is huge. The previous one had the other style zapping surface and would hit everything. The flowtron had the other style one but I already wasted sixty dollars on this one so I'll wait a while then get the flowtron.
This is the biggest piece of junk I have ever bought. There is no way that it is the voltage listed, because I have two old Sears bugzappers from the 1980s and they toast the bugs and they are dried up and fall out. Bugs hit this piece of trash and just stick to it. I don't want a piece of duct tape! I want the bugs toasted btw my old Sears bugzappers are listed as 4800 volts and the bugs are zapped dead! This thing is a farce.
These things are pathetic! Get the stinger, or get the Flowtron! These black flags are pathetic! A little rain in there destroys it! IT DESTROYS IT! It's so quiet you can hear it. You know it's not killing a lot of the bugs but will just halfway fry them!
Thumbs up for dedication going out there at night

how often do you replace the bulb?
I have the 1.5 acre Flowtron that I got from dad. It's from the earlier or mid 80's and still works.
3:25 Is this octenol lure stincky ??? Can it be placed indoor without causing a bad smell ????
If I remember correctly, yes it was kinda stinky.
I have this zapper. The bait is barely noticeable to smell even if I'm right next to it. A couple feet away and I don't smell it.
@@cougar3429 > "The bait is barely noticeable to smell"
Does it work? Does it attract the insects?

Awesome! We had a bug zapper when I was a kid, I loved it. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzpt!! It was great when a BIG BUG would get zapped, yee hah!!

I just got one from Walmart for 20$ I’m using by my door light. It’s been doing its job so far as long as it don’t cause a fire it’s good
a row of them, like pathway lights would be cool
I just bought one of these ... I keep it within air hose distance of my air compressor so I can blow it out every other day
Just bought one of these, out of the box doesn't work.... watching this video to make sure there wasn't some secret to getting it to turn on...
self cleaning would be great! like the video.
Now how do you clean it out
With the power off what I usually do is I usually use my air compressor to shoot it out.
@@MuddyDrivewayProductions Nice, gonna go try that!
Hair dryer!!!
I just bought this. I was hoping It was one that you can actally hear the zap!
I got it and it doesn’t kill flys smh
Compre uno en home depot y no funciona😭 no prende el foco😔
Compruebe el montaje de la bombilla mientras está desenchufado.
Si aún no funciona, HomeDepot debería retirarlo.
Gracias por mirar y comentar.

@NonLegit Nation The comment was intended for clowns like you!
I bought this and it doesn’t kill flys anyone know why ?
I feel your excitement!👊⚡😬⚡

mansharker8 what kind do you have??
John Kennedy flowtron zappers with killing bars work best, the wire mesh zappers get clogged and burn out the transformers
You mind searching this number on ebay? 272651132100. Is this what you mean?

(Hint) I says VOLTS on the box
4:05 bug on the other zapper lol.
Does anyone have a number to call the company mine aren't working and I've changed the bulbs. Nothing.
I just wanna know if this works with flys as well ?..???
If you put something attractive around it i'm sure it would Zap those pests.
Thanks for watching and commenting
No
do you guys leave yours plugged in if it is raining? or do you go outside and unplug?
I leave it plugged in at all time. Never had an issue with the rain. It's water resistant and you should use a cord rated for outdoor use.
Bug Zapper Was Tested By ETL (Intertek)
I just bought one of these......$60 and it was dead on arrival. Going back to Lowe's.
Is it still working?
Yes Sir. It's getting warmer and the Termites are here.

Can this be for indoor? Or fire hazard?
I would not recommend it to be used indoor.
Did it help with the mosquitoes?
Unfortunately, I am not sure because we have a lots of them. We live next to a mountain and it rains here daily.
It wacks everything else very good. We have been getting so many termites right now that it clogged the grid and it keeps shorting the circuit. It's time for a cleaning.

Its work great out door
Does this attract flies?
Flies are not attracted to light
biting termites? The ones by us only eat wood.
omg that shock joke killed
What kind of fliers were those? They looked big..
please get a decent mic or turn up volume before your next video recording. Extremely hard to hear you.

The first night i used it, it killed more than 50 bugs !!!!!!!!
Awesome!
Thanks for watching and comment.
Thank u
Y bought 3 last year, all 3 are burn out ! My guess is that they are good for 1 season ! NO VALEN CHORIZO
Just got mine yesterday, the manual says to replace the UV bulbs each year. Model is BB-40BLK.

6:52 is a clogged killing grid....case in point
It is clogged right now and I am having a hard time cleaning it since I leave it out.
unplug it and use an air compressor on it :)
Will do
