I'm old enough to remember a time when breasts where squeezed between plates of glass in a way that was very uncomfortable and the exam took a lot more time than it does now. My exam yesterday was a bit awkward but there was no pain at all.
My mammogram doesn’t hurt, but I know it varies by person. Please do it annually. It caught my breast cancer at stage 2 and was successfully treated with chemo and radiation. Thank god. It was not a lump my doctor or I could feel.

Stop It!" when the damn machine assaulted me, to have Digital Breast Tomosythesis next time. The machine made my breasts feel like they were going to burst, they are Not "squeezed", they are Crushed, Mangled. If you have a Cyst it will burst. How is it a Brain Scan is Painless? The damn mammogram is not even 100% Correct & not surprised women Develop Cancer after one.

I’m having a mammogram done because my lymph node under my arm pit is swollen and hard and still even after antibiotics it hasn’t gone away and now I have a lump in my breast that’s hard and it’s tender so I’m so worried about the pain … pray for me please I pray it’s not the same as your experience 😢
I love how you auto assume that everyone who says it hurts just likes putting fear in others. Did you ever think that maybe some women have very tender breasts and do suffer pain during the procedure? That’s like saying “I got a tattoo and had no stinging pain so if you did, you’re a liar”
@@EducatingStupids I did have a lot of scar tissue on my left breast from my car accident back in 2017 but as for cancer there was nothing detected ! 🙏 My risk of cancer is high due to my family history but they told me what to look for . #nottodaycancer
@@musicloverb1agree. My first papsmear did not hurt at all. I am surprised when i went to another country that it hurts so much and I bled. The gyne of second did not warn me or anything, she just shove the speculum in without preparing me.
This video is great if waiting to have done first time but if was painful its something you must have done to make sure you dont have anything wrong or if have get treatment straight away
I just went to get a mammogram today. The lady called me over and she said, if we dont get your mammogram from last time you did one he wont read it.WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON? I do not understand. Why cant they just do it and if something shows up, something shows up. I left the office with a few choice words! I had the office send the last place a request for my records. Apparently, they didn't send them. I wanted my records from another hospital because they did a MRI i asked twice, they wont send them. I dont understand all this. At this point i really dont care. Im so mad!! I don't think they really care!

This happened with both breasts. Subsequent mammograms were less uncomfortable . Maybe on my first they were trying to get I’d base as to tissue density etc. .
I was going to do this but to scared to being exposed to that Radiation that can cause cancer and even the more you do it . I did all my research. So am going to keep doing the old fashioned way breast exam standard breast exam.
I'm a dude and just found out today that this is a thing. *Thank you* for explaining the procedure. I'll make sure (when I find love) that my partner knows about this. Also this sure beats the "finger" for men. If you know what I mean (I'm not looking forward to that procedure 😢)
Hi @pamsatira1753, there is a minimum of 4 decanewtons in order for it to be diagnostic, but more compression is better for visualization in order to be able to properly exam.
I detest our healthcare system. If men had to get this procedure you know they’d have a pain free option that didn’t involve compressing someone’s body.

The last one I had I saw stars and actually thought I was going to pass out. It was painful! Then every time I am then put through a sonogram. Even the thought of another momo makes me break out in sweat and terror. Plus X-rays are a carcinogen. So if one starts at 40 by the time they are 80 they have had 40 times X-rays through that tender area.

Go with a Ultrasound/Sonogram instead. No pain, no flattening, and most importantly no radiation.😊
