Rlly impressed by the effort put into this. First time hearing of this book and this video inspired me to pick it up. Cool to think that a random video from a person I've never met or probably will meet has the potential to impact my life and if I take something from the book then impact my life for the better. Good stuff.

What a lovely comment. I think that's a wonderful thing about TH-cam isn't it! I hope you got as much from the book as I did! Thanks for commenting too 😬

Ive been reading through it myself and i only really didn't like that he took a chance with his appendix bursting and came away "learning" from this instead of recognizing how lucky he is... Otherwise i do find a great deal of enjoyment and my own creativity spurred by his pithy and witty observations!

That's funny you say this. I originally had a section in the video about this. It was the only passage of the book that I found really troubling. But because it's such an extreme anecdote, and I though quite out of keeping with the rest of the book, I chose not to keep it in. I thought that if I had, it would have overly coloured people's perceptions when it really is just one passage - albeit a strange one! Thanks for commenting and hope you enjoyed the vid 😁

The topic of creativity is a fascinating one, and this a fantastic book! I think that kid took Rick's saying "audience last" out of context, or perhaps too literally. The key to finding your voice in whatever you do well is to do it authentically. As a pretty serious Taoist/Zen Buddhist the book confirmed some ideas in my head, and raised new questions. I have been training highly specialized GPTS as creative muses or to fill gaps in knowledge for things I am working on and this book is one of several that makes up my sort of philosophical secret sauce for their knowledge base. Cheers to just starting out. I kind of got here by accident. I was working on a book and when I finished it one little idea sparked another. I was a Chef six months ago!

Hey! Thanks for sharing. I'd love to know what other books are making up the secret sauce. I'm always looking for inspiration. Any recommendations?

@@henrydidit a lot of philosophy of ethics, such as Kant's Critique of Pure Reason, The Problems With Philosophy, Biographical Dictionary of Free Thinkers, The Psychology of Revolution, and Taoist literature and a few other closely guarded secrets. I only use chatGPT nowadays like google if my browser is open. I have been using Taskade which is powered by ChatGPT, but can do more with the agents. Essentially I have a personal army of GPTs not in the OpenAI store. I was gonna upload some, but it was too easy for people to get the instructions and knowledge out of them. Also, the terms said they end up owning 30% of your idea, and I have working talk therapist agents and a critical thinking companion that will not answer your questions but talk you through til you arrive at the answer and it will challenge the users believes if they hold any strange ones.
