It would be an unbelievably EPIC WS if it were game 7 top of the 9th and NY was down by a run or two with Ohtani on the mound and Soto or Judge coming up to bat with two outs and then they hit a walkoff!
Shohei not pitching is not a surprise. I agree with you. I don't think after a year out he will be able to just be an ace out the gate. Lucky for me I live in California. Cole, Stanton and Judge are all Californians.
Rumors says Flannery LAD starter in game 1 saw his velocity drop 2 to 4 mph in last game against the Mets. NYY passed on trading for Flannery due to back concerns. Perhaps it is mechanics or over use. We will find out in the first inning of game 1.
Jason, the Ohtani and Cortez articles were nothing more than click bait. There was NO chance that Ohtani was gonna pitch in the series. He has been on the bump facing live pitching in a year. Complete Hype. Similar to Cortez, if I get hurt pitching in the Series, I am willing to sit out for a year. Completely ridiculous.
As my insight progresses closer to the Series !!! I go through so many plays and players in my mind and come to an assessment !!! Judge !!! All will rise !!! I do see media and betting lines all favoring the Dodgers !!! ....MLB may want this line !!! The lines will stop in NY !!! Yankees in 6 !!! Waldo will come up huge in a crucial point !!! "Swami Salter the Great "!!! 😉
As of a week or two ago Judge was the betting favorite to win the WS MVP but now he's just slightly behind Ohtani. It's not important though because I believe he Yankees will prevail.
Like you said, he hasn’t pitched in a year. How effective would he be. Having said that, even if he was 100%.. who cares. To quote Paulie to Apollo Creed in the Rocky I movie: I don’t sweat you!”. 😉
its not because he wouldn't be effective...he does everything super good, its a matter of risk to injury...he could prob pitch fine but there's a big risk, pulling someonthing, the arm getting injured..then he's out of action...no there's not enough high side, they have guys who can pitch well, just as good pretty much so he's not needed to pitch. he's needed to hit and run the bases.

I agree but can we wait till 2025 ws instead for the rematch😭

Condolences to the Valenzuela family, may Fernando rest in eternal peace.
I wish he would’ve pitched lol

Would have loved to see Soto walk him off
Shohei does not scare me at all
Me too since he has not pitched in a year def a edge for us
How long has Cortes been ramping up after getting the green light from the medical staff?

Both teams deep, both have ?s. NYY mostly full strength, but LAD not. Would not be so even otherwise.
Ok. It is of no consequence. Yankees shall prevail. Yankees shall win. And Soto stays!
That part. Despite on rumors that he may leave concerns me. I trust that Soto will stay regardless of these reports.
