- Join me for a wander around the halls at the 2024 Bristol Classic Motorcycle Show at the Bath and West Showground, Shepton Mallet, February 2024. No slick production here just oodles of atmosphere :-)
Just the right amount of background music. Great production !!
Thank you kindly Paul, cheers for watching 🙂
Great Video tour. Thank you for taking time to really look at the bikes. So many videos rush through and just pan everything. You were very thoughtful in giving time for the exhibitors. Kudos from the US
Cheers Paul, it's often tricky to get the balance just right; if I keep the vid to a reasonable length then it's too quick through the exhibits and if I linger too long then the vid would be too long so on this occasion I literally filmed as I wandered round. I did go round again without the camera which took hours obviously 🙂
great review of the show, nice to see the raleigh stand (at about 25.30) with our safety seven on it. the stand got 3rd best club award so was a nice surprise.
Thank you kindly. What a great, but largely overlooked, marque Raleigh is. Congratulations on the award, well deserved 🙂
Thank you very much for posting a very well edited video of this show.I have never made it down that far to see for myself, but you captured it very well.I have been to Stafford many times, glad to see these shows are getting back to strength after the pandemic.
Thank you kindly Christopher, I normally endeavour to make it all a bit slicker but the crowds meant I had to just film as I went. Hopefully it turned out alright 🙂 Thanks for watching
Thanks for the video! Cheers from California
Thank you kindly for watching, just sharing what I see 🙂
Thanks for posting the video, very enjoyable.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, thank you for watching 🙂
Thank you, nice video. Enjoyable.
Thank you kindly and thank you for watching 🙂
Great video. 2 parts with myself & my Triton on but a bit of a glare from my bald spot 🤣
I’ve still got the Kett leather jacket I bought there in 2006 for £10. Thanks for such a detailed video
Cheers Jim, funnily enough I'm always on the look out for the Lewis jacket I had nicked in 2000 🙂
Excellent thanks very much.i should have been there but instead ended up in salisbury hospital on Sunday with a badly swollen knee😢 still here!!
Thank you kindly John, That's terrible misfortune fella, hope it's all sorted soon 🙂
brilliant
Thank you kindly Alan 🙂
Excellent video very good, not one Royal Enfield anywhere to be seen 😢😭 .
I'm sure there's one or two lurking in there somewhere 🙂 Cheers for watching
Great video, was a good day 👍 sad to say we didn't end up making it in to the video 😂 but hey maybe next time 🤣 love your vids
Cheers Lee, it was indeed a great day. Yeah maybe next time eh :-))
Nice to see a vid for the show. We didn't make the trek this year.
You missed a crackin' show and I had hoped to see an in depth vid from yourselves; I thoroughly enjoyed the one you did last year 🙂
@DukeDyson we made a weekend of it last time, meeting friends and stopping over. Hopefully be at Stafford. 🤞
@@Banditmanuk see you there hopefully 🙂
My first bike was a Honda CB100. Yours sounds much more exotic.
I'm not sure I'd have called it exotic at the time 😆
'Here's to the Autosol tubes in their thousand, flattened to death for their dregs;
cupboards bereft of all clean rags, their airing cupboards tremble instead.
So . . . rub-a-dub-dub go the bed sheets, repurposed & ribboned to suit,
'Will we have enough petrol to get there?' - somehow the question seems moot . . .
'Keep polishing gal, . . it's showtime! - here, have a swig of the special Brasso.'
~ A lot of hard work goes into these shows, a lot; so take a bow folks, & thank you : )
Saw my bike for a couple of seconds at 11:29 :)
Ooh, is that your VFR? Wonderful machines all of them 🙂
@@DukeDyson Yes it is :) We got a runners up rosette for best modern classic.
@@pross Quite right too, it's a credit to you 🙂
Being realistic looking at the average of the exhibitors and entrants, where will all these beautiful and expensive bikes be in 15 years?
I think the exhibition of these bikes has already peaked. During my lifetime they have gone from just cheap transport to fast appreciating classics to beyond the reach of most people. They are now being passed to the next generation who are looking to their own youth, thus some of the older stuffs' value (which, let's face it, is the gauge everybody uses) is stagnating. I may be able to afford that Black Shadow yet eh 🙂 Thanks for watching
As they say demographics are destiny. We might be approaching a cliff edge not so far away. These are 'boomer's toys from a far distant glorious past. As those brought up in the analogue age become decrepit and die out, those who came of age in the digital era will have little interest in our beloved classics. The signs of this trend are becoming evident. Many traders are retiring. A few more empty pitches in Stafford every year. Some old parts are going into crushers. Who cares what our RD 400's will be worth in 15 years time. Enjoy them now, as some of us who ride them, will have departed this earthly realm by then.
Only thing that lets the whole show down is the awful carpark , or should I say the lack of hard standing . Sunday rain saw cars stuck in the mud and the bike park suited off roaders.
Show had a massive amount of carefully restored and original classics.
The parking is indeed a bit rubbish, I went on the Saturday which wasn't as wet. It is primarily an agricultural showground so maybe they assume everyone arrives in a Land Rover. Great show regardless 🙂 Thanks for watching
I had a 'Oh-so-rare' Moto Martin CBX back in the very early 90's. Probably regret letting that bike go more than any other . . . 😢
A very rare beast indeed, even more so now obviously but you never know eh 🙂
@@DukeDyson Yes true. It was original and in Black & Gold livery, but needed a little bit of work, (alternator was shot for one), but as an old 'Kwackhead' I saw a rather nice Z1000H for sale and the swap was done.
