Well done guys, looks really nice. Having married a builders daughter I can sympathise with Chris sometimes feeling a little like a spare part! 28 years later I can testify that being an inch from idiocy and keeping the maestro supplied with tea, as well as finding the odd thing you are good at, in my case demolition with minimum impact elsewhere works out just fine. Looking forward to seeing whats next!
its hard to keep up with Bex, shes a force, but I do make a good supper so just have to make sure shes fully stocked , thanks for all the support, were getting there
Hi Becca, Chris, Wow, how lovely you have made everything look. What an amazing job you have done with the stove. It's Fantastic. I love, yet again that Becca explains to us all what she is doing, what her plan of action is, and Becca always comes thru with the goods. And we all listen to Becca's every word. I'm thinking "Training Videos" !!!!!! Chris, you are amazing with the support you give to Becca when she has all her genious ideas, you never say no, and always give her every praise. But once again Chris, I must comment on this weeks edit, which was very slick and clever, so many little tiny touches (which can take ages to sync up) which only a professional could do, be it video or audio, even down to an odd note from a track just to create an atmosphere. I loved your closing speech, it made me feel all emaotional. It sounds like your an excellent script-writer too. Such a nice polished video from two lovely people. Thank you. Spoolbox
Thank you so much, didnt bex do amazing, such a clever cookie. woaw that would be a great shout...I cant wait to see what bex creates out on our cruises. aww bless you what a compliment thanks for noticing as always. it was a bit emotional wasn't it Thank you for all the love it really makes it all worth while ❤️
You guys have done a phenomenal job - Becs with her ingenuity and skill and Chris with his support and growing skills, topped with that crazy sense of humour. A win all round 👏👏👏👏
Hi Chris and Bex. Well done for completing the stove. It looks excellent. So glad you’ve now got some warmth. In this weather you’ll need it! Take care. Nick
Hey .this is our 1st message..we absolutely love you two guys and gals..cant wait to see you on the wet and wild canals of the Great UK.. but fingers ceossed..beat that bloody bridge....roll on 2024...
Well done both of you. The stove and its surround are stunning. The Wombat has really come along way. Can't wait to see your vlogs when your out on the cut
I have a suggestion for you guys. If you get some flexible thin copper pipe and spiral it up the chimney to about 15 to 20 times then connect each end to your central heating circuit (if you have one yet) and Bob's your dads brother, you'll have central heating. It will need a small electric pump somewhere in the circuit too and not too near the stove itself otherwise it will melt. Hope this helps............
That's so interesting, what a fascinating way of getting heat around the boat, eventually this is what a back boiler does for rhe stove though we have heardvthere not very reliable, thanks for your comment
Nice job guys, its always satisfying once you have done some hard work and can sit back and admire it and how much you have saved rather than having someone else do it
Awww looks flipping marvellous guys! Fantastic job Bex! 🤗 And, yep, this year is definitely you pairs! Can’t wait to see you cruising! See what mayhem you create (in a nice way, of course)! 🤣 Take care lovely pair! 😘❤️🌻
Just found your channel. I love the way, you are keeping it real, not just showing all the good times. Good luck in the future and I hope all starts going the way and you can enjoy your narrowboat and the canal’s.
You guys 😊 lol had another school girl giggle! James I’m sure would have helped you guys! He’s on his second project narrow boat. He’s as lovely as you two ! Hope you both had a good Christmas and let’s hope this will be the happiest of new years !!! ( it will be because you’ll be sailing away in to the sunset very soon !) lol love you guys xxx
Haha!!! Glad to hear the laughter caught you Mandy! Ahh he does seem like such a lovely chap! Thank you so much and the same to you too. Fingers crossed for some cruising in the not too distant future 🤞 xxx
Aww thank you so much 😊🥰 that's so lovely of you to say. I never have any idea what I'm doing really, I just give things a go! Hope you guys are all good and out of the flood zones? Xx
Thanks so much and also for the reminder. We are planning to do that soon just putting it off for fear of the tile cracking! Fortunately we do have a special drill bit just for the job but still scary!! 😂
Well done bex you done an amazing job on the fire place and I best not forget Chris lol you done an amazing job at being very entertaining as normal lol 😂. Keep up the good work guys you’re both great to watch. I bet you two are both bloody happy you got some heat again.
Huge congratulations! You smashed it out of the park! You did it 🧑🏻🍳👌🏻The whole stove area looks fantastic and and it’s such a huge relief that you both are now in a cosy home again. In some ways thank goodness the rebuild stalled so that you both weren’t out on the cut with these crazy floods and having to deal with the stress and worry that the CC’s are having to go thru right now. So stoked for you both, let’s hope 2024 sees you both enjoying being out on the cut in your finished(these things are never truely finished 🫣😄) floating home Having fun on your traveling adventures 🤗🎊🎉🥳🎊🤗
It's all Becca bless her...she has a great mind for this sort sort of thing. You have a very good point...some area are very chaotic...at least the marina is quite safe. the river next to it is out of control..finghers crossed 2024 is our year Thank you
Yeah🎉🥳🎇 🏅 It is going to be your year!!! Did James ever get back to you? You did great…both of you! Teamwork! Can’t wait to see the videos of you crushing….with hot water 💦 😊🤗 Kathy
Oh wow, I never knew about this! Thanks so much for the suggestion. Il defo keep an eye on the rope and should it need replacing, get some of this stuff. Many thanks again 😊 x
If it was in a house I think the regs say single skin flue pipe has to be 3x it's diameter away from combustibles, ie wood... Id be tempted to fit twin wall flue a foot or so down from the ceiling and through to outside. This will reduce the distance to combustibles to 50mm of memory serves? Yeah this is it. It makes it hard to translate into boat conditions as some stuff is just not practical on a boat. When I measured out where it should be in accordance to house regs, it would mean the flue would have to be situated in the middle of the doorway or something equally daft!! We did deliberate changing the whole flue to a twin flue which is something we might do in the future but our old flue was absolutely cemented onto the stove there was no way it was budging without being cut off. We decided to stick with it for now and revisit that in the future when we have more time and it's not so cold! Thanks so much for your helpful suggestions though, that's really useful to know 😊
Hey guys! We just finished binge watching every single video! Awesome content and great seeing things improve slowly! It's my girlfriend's birthday today and we are in st Neots! Can we buy you a coffee or beer in the mill? X
Hi guys, thank you so much for the support and Happy Birthday ,We've got arrangements with friends today unfortunately, if you down any other time give us a heads up and we can try to arrange to meet you😃
Yeah sorry, was just an ad-hoc jaunt around for the day. Next time, more notice and I'll bring a box of your fave cro-bottles to help your hard work along😅 x
What a brilliant surprise for Chris Bex, all looks great. Henri wants a wood heater in his shed, ummm don’t think so, a lot of work. Stay safe guys and thinking of you. 💕
aww bless him, we went a bit mad with this one, we could have done it faster but wanted to go a bit posh, hasn't Bex done great thanks so much for watching Pauline
Nice jobs guys. Have you ever heard of a recoheat ? I got one in my cottage. It will turn your let's say 5kw stove into a 10kw stove . Brilliant peice of kit , I can heat my 3 bedroom cottage with my multi fuel stove without turning on the oil and thats not even running my stove 24/7
Thanks so much 😊 Yeah we just need to get round to doing that bit! It will be nerve wracking just in case anything goes wrong and the tile splits but we have the right bits for the job so fingers crossed! 🤞
Thanks so much 😊 We did talk about this but the twin flue was a bit out of our budget for the moment so decided to stick with what we had already with the intention of maybe replacing it in the future with twin flue! Thanks so much for your comment 😊
Well done on your completely over the top stove fitting the only thing the bss examiner will check is that there is no smoke (co2) leaking inside the boat and that the stove is screwed down tightly.(can see that has not been done in the video)The rest of what you have done is just for your own peace of mind
Haha! Why thank you! You are right to some degree however when you saw the level of charring of the wood next to the stove it was clear it needed some work or else it was in danger of going up one day as it was getting worse. It was a poor installation of the stove in the first place to be honest which is what lead to these problems. Better to be safe than sorry ey! Happy New year!
Looks great, its exactly how I imagined it would be from the created image. Will seem a shame drilling out the tiles to secure the stove or is there another way?
Thank you! I'm so chuffed it came out like those first images. I was worrying Chris wouldn't forgive me if it all turned out a big mess!! 😂 Yeah the tile drilling will be a nervy moment but we do have a special tool for doing it so fingers crossed it goes to plan. I'm not sure there is another way to be honest 😕

Thank you so much! You're always there to support us and it's much appreciated!
I think "stuffing rope down" is called caulking, normally used by shipwrights to seal against water but purpose is the same. Go Bex!
caulking...thats interesting, thanks for letting us know😊😀
Great job Becks.. you nailed it... very professional looking jobby. Well thought out.. Looks outstanding.. Enjoy the warmth it will produce..😊🤗🍺🍻

It also helps prevent cold plugs of air in your flue, poor combustion and the build up of creosote in the flue. I'm sure what you've done is safe, it just depends what the tester says.
