Canon printer BJC 2000 2010 troubleshooting

If I can fix your printer, it's a $50 charge. If I cannot fix your printer, my labor is FREE. A good customer gave me two printers to fix, a Canon BJC-2000 and a Canon BJC-2010. Thereby hangs this fascinating tale ... (2 hours of work condensed into less than 10 minutes).

I had two of these, and I fell in love with them. The first I bought in 2001, and it lasted until 2007. The second I bought used in 2007, and it lasted until now, early 2015. It finally broke down, after years of good service. Thank God I have a newer printer with my second computer. This model served me for 15 years, and I'm happy they did.

The technician's response:
Yes, I dismantled the printer, in order to discover the root cause of the problem, that is, failure of the paper feed motor.
Since both printers in this video exhibited the exact same symptoms, I can also say the other failed for the same reason.
I would be surprised if this is not a common problem with 2000-series Canon printers, which, by the way, were popular between 1998 and 2002.

Don't waste your time on this ten minute video. You won't learn anything about fixing a printer except that if you let someone else do it, as soon as you agree to let him dispose of your printer, he proceeds to rip it apart.
