  • Clogging fixed by sinking (overnight) printing head in Isopropyl Alcohol.
I put it inside bag to prevent fast evaporation.

A lovely little printer. I've got one I wish to restore, too.

Does that thin transparent piece on the print need to be removed for the printhead to function correctly. I got an old printer at a rummage sale and was wondering if that small rectangular strip was supposed to be there because when I try to print, I can't get anything to show up. Thanks

Sorry, I don't remember, I took that video years ago, take look at video and compare My print head to Yours - it should looks exactly the same since my was printing correctly - in short word I have pealed off everything that should be removed.

@@ElectronicNoobBlog Hi, my printer wont even go through the start up process properly and was working perfect before with good clear print so i recon the fault is within the printer head because ive had this happen before would you agree Is there a website that sells these heads out there that doesnt cost a fortune!?

Yes, You are understand correctly, there is isoporpyl alcohol in bag (to prevent evaporate) and idea is to dissolve clogged ink.
Is it safe for print-head? I don't know, i use this as last resort, i was going to toss out printer because print-head is more expensive than printer itself and decide to give it a try and it's ended up working good.
