- If you haven't tried this famous Teluk Intan chee cheong fun you haven't been to Teluk Intan! The constant queue could be 30 minutes long and customers order over ten packets! To top that, it's ONLY for take-aways! This is Liew Kee's 100-year old, 3rd generation stall at Jalan Hill. It's no secret that the chee cheong fun packets are special because it comes with slices of turnip, chopped up salted radish, deep fried shallots,finely chopped deep fried dried prawns,topped with spring onions and served with pickled green chili. The perfectly fried ,almost burnt, dried prawns culminates its uniqueness with a rich aroma and distinctive taste. It closes on Mondays .
But from Tuesdays to Saturdays 5pm till midnite and from
8am till late on Sundays you can join the queue not just for fun but the best in Teluk Intan!
已百年第三代的安顺豬腸粉店用自磨自製的新鮮米漿住家烹製現做現賣
老闆娘一手拿起平盤，以純熟的手法快速地把米漿均勻地鋪在平盤上，再鋪上炒至香脆的沙葛粒和蝦米，然後通過輸送帶，把平盤徐徐推入電動蒸爐內，待豬腸粉蒸熟後，平盤便從蒸爐的另一端出來，而盤上屆時鋪的都是熱騰騰、香噴噴的安順豬腸粉。
接著，工人即馬上把已鋪上餡料，且已蒸熟的米漿捲成條狀，再將豬腸粉放到塑料紙上，加入醃青辣椒後，即把豬腸粉包起出售。
雖然燎記是打著“現做現賣”的旗幟做生意，但在住家烹製豬腸粉的老闆並未設桌椅供民眾即席食用，而是直接把所有新鮮出爐的豬腸粉包起來，賣給排著隊的食客。
即便如此，當食客把豬腸粉帶回家或帶到其他地方食用時，仍無損豬腸粉的鮮味和美味。
有食客披露，他向燎記購買豬腸粉兩三小時後才食用，豬腸粉仍是溫熱滑口，美味依舊。
燎記所烹製的安順豬腸粉共有兩種口味，除了傳統的“沙葛炒蝦米”口味，味道略帶刺激的“青蔥蝦米”豬腸粉也同樣廣受歡迎，但因後者製工繁複，所以每天生產的數量較少。总言之没有尝吃过安顺豬腸粉就像不曾来过安顺一趟。

前几年新加坡也开了一家，在樟宜，吃过两次，但味道没老家安顺的好。安顺。。。土生土长的地方，虽然满怀情感，但也已是过去式了，家人全都离开了安顺，大概不可能再踏上安顺的土地了。。。人生就是如此，只知起点，却不知终点为何处。。。。
在國外多年每次看到國外的腸粉、糯米飯和瀨粉還有雲吞麵就會想到從小吃到大家鄉安順的大排檔美吃！一極棒啊⋯⋯
My telok intan - ipoh friend bought this for us back to singapore when she back hometown, is about rm3 per pack 7/8 yrs ago, is so tasty, the one she bought is near a big tree she said, she needs to queue for an hour morning 5/6am. Very nice! I missed this version with mushroom and sweet pickle radish can't remember if have white sesame and option to add ingredients not sure is char siew. I find a bit oily too but really very tasty, which serve with green chilli very different from my penang plain one but serve with dark soy sauce 5 spice and chilli paste. I prefer this teluk intan version, compare to other hong kong, KL, or other place in ipoh or curry version.
May I ask, what is those black bits filling ?
It said, a 3 generations about 100 year family business. Wonder whether it was started behind my house, Immigrant Road, when I was a kid back in 1950s. Very popular then and still is but now I find it to be too oily
Hi Yu, your comment pique my interest since we are from the same generation. Readers here kindly pardon me for going off topic. I have no doubt the chee cheong fun is yummy, especially from someone who has not eaten any of it for decades. Having said that, I am here to find some answers to questions perhaps you may be able to provide. Like you, I had lived along Immigrant Road for a number of years with the Thong family. Before that I used to live along Dennison Road where my parents owned one of the many fruit shops in that area. Behind these shops was the muddy Perak River. To make the story short, I attended ACS primary and secondary school until Form 3 (1952 -1961). I used to walked by the Tower every school day. There was a padang next to the Tower, with the primary school at the end of the field. My questions: 1. Is ACS, both primary and secondary, still around or has the name been changed? Couldn't find it on Google. 2. Has the Perak River finally claimed that row of fruit shops? In other words, they no longer exist. Looking forward to your reply, or from any reader here who has the answers. Thank you very much.

Rena ,OH The black stuff is Chinese version of preserved tulip (a kind of root vegetables) which had been washed (to remove salt used in the preserved process) which is dried and cook with some cooking oil, sugar and dark soy sauce (if I recalled correctly). The cooked preserved tulip give a kind of sweet taste and some crunch to the steamed flat rice noodle aka chee Cheong fun.

有层油纸隔着 再用报纸包装 这不是一种非常平民的包装设风格咩 我欣赏 油烟污渍 这是所有亚洲菜系的特点 或者说是缺点 应该热油蒸发 蒙住 所以特别粘灰尘 至于制作过程 用手感觉不卫生 最好用一次性手套？ 不行的 手套打滑 做厨房劳作非常危险
shirma peng 就别说亚洲了，目前被普遍认为脏的只有中国和东南亚吧？棒子和小日本在宣传自己饮食文化时是很注意口碑的. 单论制作水平中餐绝对是不可质疑的世界第一，但是地位却没有只会泡大白菜和捏饭团的亚种高. 可是毕竟大环境在这，很多地方饮食只是温饱，卫生是无法强求的. 不过有什么关系吗，卫生不过就是发展的下一步，不会很远了
Very unhealthy - using the sponge to apply oil on the hot metal trays and wrap the Chee Cheong Fun in plastic sheets. All these are not hygiene and bad for health.
