    So what do you do if you need to decrease your medicare/medicaid population? Just say you have reached your panel size?

    I was under the impression that you were obligated to take anyone and everyone who had insurance you were credentialed with. Is that true?

      If you are not an emergency room or hospital, or other agency that accepts federal funding in order to provide services to all comers, then you do not. You can always limit your practice size or the panel. (Of course, you don't want to discriminate on race, gender, religion, age, etc).
