  • Children with ASD often have quick tempers and are unwilling to wait. When they want to do something, they will do it straight away without considering the danger or appropriateness of their actions. Children with ASD have difficulties in waiting is often because they do not understanding the concept of waiting, or they feel anxious due to their uncertainties of waiting time.
    2 years and 7 months old Lucas does not like to wait either. Whenever he encounters a situation where he has to wait, he becomes angry and will even harm himself, which greatly concerns his parents.
    Watch the video to learn how AP consultants used simple tools such as a timer and a card to help Lucas grasped the concept of time and waiting, and successfully extended his waiting time from 1 second to 60 seconds within 5 days.
