- I show you how to factory reset (hard reset) a Samsung Galaxy A11 phone where you forgot your password, PIN code or swipe pattern. The traditional way to factory reset you would first have to turn off (shut off or power down) the phone but you can't cause its asking for your password every to turn it off. So watch this video very carefully you may have to try it a few times before you get it. Let me know how many times it took you. Hope this helps.

Wow thank you! My A11 suddenly decided to have a screen lock yesterday- I DID NOT set a screen lock myself- and nothing on the Samsung website was sufficient in helping me get into my dang phone. I couldn't do anything without the password. I decided to simply reset the phone, and I couldn't figure out how to do this until finding this video. Thank you!

Thanks duder, saved my cousins christmas. With my province on lockdown they woulda ended up waiting weeks for an unlock without this. Worked first try for me but I moved my finger of volume down when the screen went black which was before it vibrated.

oh wow!!! that trick to first turn off the device is precious! noone had told me that and I was waiting hours for the battery to be empty to try the combination for the factory reset (as, as you mentioned, is not always working at the first try, or second..)

It doesn't work for me, my daughter forgot her password and her gmail info so we did just what you showed and I just keep getting a warning that someone tried to erase the phone data and it goes right back to asking for the gmail info. The people at the phone store tried it too and it didn't work

I have an interesting situation. My neighbor gave me a Samsung Galaxy A11. They have no moved away. We factory reset the device, in hopes that my daughter could use it, but once I've connected to the wifi, it asks for the previously linked account information. My neighbor has moved, so I'm unable to ask them for the password. We get a notification that says "an unauthorized attempt has been made to reset your device to factory default settings. Connect to a Wi-FI or mobile network to verify your identity". Is there anything we can do to make it work? We're hoping it's not a lost cause because it's a great phone!

@@karlaanguiano4557 Yeah, I ended up needing the google account or last linked device it could send a passcode to. I ended up having to use the last phone number and send a passcode.

Also after vibrate and move from down to up once logo comes up release power only hold vol up. If it vibrates a second time while holding both power and vol up you held power too long. You can hold vol up all the way to recovery menu.

If you factory reset and now you have to enter your Gmail account to get your info back,after a a reset. What they fail to tell you that once you enter your Gmail email and password they going to send you a verification on another phone and if you can't unlock a phone you haven't touch in months or years you are screwed

took 8 times of doing the same thing and I almost gave up but it worked! I thought maybe it had to be from an OFF position, but it worked while phone was still ON but password locked. I used two fingers and did a quicker transition to the volume up - not sure if that's what finally made the difference. Phew! Thanks so much.

I have a question anyone if you watch where he selects factory data reset there is a red warning under the divider on the screen. And that states that you may have to sign into Google to gain access to this device again. I didn't want to do the factory data reset because I don't know my Google info on this device. Does anyone know if that will in fact block me from gaining access? Any help would be appreciated thank you
No it doesn't work, if you don't remember your gmail info you'll still be locked out and it gives you a warning that someone attempted to wipe your phone but you're still locked out.

Hi, tried the unlock 4 times each time it just powers up with the Tmobile music and screen cannot get it to move on to the factory reset choices, any suggestions? Also does SIM card need to be in phone or out for this to work?
