Conservative premiers were practically begging the Federal government for immigrants. Take, for example, Conservative premier Tim Houston, a few random quotes from him:
"Immigration is critical to the future of Nova Scotia and Canada."
"I actually had in my mind that probably three million Nova Scotians was best, but I said, 'What's really achievable,' and we kind of settled on two million."
"We need more people. Our demographics are not great. So doubling the population, for me, is about right-sizing our demographics. It's about making the province younger."
"The reason I say that is we need people. Growth is not without its challenges, but I think as a government - as premier - I accept the challenges of growth."

@@Jasmine-k9m2bExactly provinces asking for more but happy to let the feds take the heat on unaffordability😅 like education is provincial jurisdiction yet none are asking feds to reduce they are asking for more amid students intake cuts

Danielle Smith specifically created Bill 8, so that MLAs in Alberta could get away with unethical conduct, and the bill makes it so that the Alberta Ethics Commissioner can't investigate them for unethical conduct, before a provincial election in Alberta, which makes it so that the MLAs can run in the provincial elections. Bill 8 also changes the gift limit amounts MLAs in Alberta can receive, which opens the door for MLAs to accept bribes. This bill is also part of the UCP's disrespect for democracy.
The $80 million Danielle Smith and the UCP blew on Turkish Tylenol, is among their least costliest debacles and mistakes. The UCP has done many more costlier debacles than that, such as blowing well over $7 billion on a pipeline bet gone bad, lost $4 billion on a pension fund debacle, lost nearly $2 billion from the Heritage Savings Trust, and lost even more money from that fund, lost $1.6 billion on an accounting error, borrowed $25 billion, without asking Albertans about it, and the UCP have never revealed what they have used the money for, blew $3 billion and $13 billion on 2 very imbalanced 'aid packages' for Alberta, blew billions of dollars trying to prop up the Alberta PCs $35 billion bitumen upgrader debacle, blew billions of dollars on various voter bribery schemes, lost $4 billion, without any paper trail, has an Australian coal mining company suing the UCP for nearly $4 billion, for breaking a contract agreement, is blowing $20 billion on the R-Star debacle, cost Albertans well over $100 billion with the economic witholding power price gouging debacle, has more coal mining companies suing the UCP for $10.8 billion, for breaking contract agreements, and so many more.
The UCP have done well over $80 billion in very costly debacles and mistakes.
The UCP also has treated the vulnerable, seniors, medical professionals, teachers, students, rural property owners, and the environment in Alberta with disdain.
Many years ago, Peter Lougheed, who was the only good and sensible Conservative premier in Alberta, said that Danielle Smith couldn't be trusted. He was correct.
Other former Conservative politicians in Alberta have also said that they don't trust Danielle Smith and the UCP, because they are so dishonest. They are also correct about that.
Danielle Smith was the Wildrose party leader, and she condemned Alison Redford for what she did wrong, and she demanded that Alison Redford resign. Now, as premier of Alberta, Danielle Smith is doing far worse things than Alison Redford did, so why doesn't Danielle Smith resign?
Canada's worst premier is Danielle Smith. She won't complete a full term as premier of Alberta, because of her angering constituents, contradicting herself, constantly lying, flip flopping, backtracking, and doing many very costly debacles.

That’s a lot of anger and misinformation, you might want to take it easy. Give yourself a heart attack getting worked up like that. I was no fan of the Notley govt but I couldn’t get that worked up about it. 🤣👍🥃🥃🥃

@chadtosh6831 It's not about me at all. This is about Danielle Smith and her unethical conduct, and her very costly debacles and mistakes.
Interesting how Danielle Smith has two sets of standards. One for herself and the UCP, and another set of standards for other politicians.
If other premiers were in power in Alberta, and were doing what Danielle has been doing wrong, and Danielle Smith was in the opposition, she'd demand that they resign.
Somehow, Danielle Smith and the UCP are supposed to be able to get away with doing it.
