    Great stuff. That ending reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Chief Wiggum reveals they use old Hootie and the Blowfish cassettes to record their wire taps because they're cheaper than blank cassettes.

    What an excellent host! That jacket was everything. This was too freakin' fun, I loved the editing. 😂 Man, there are so many movies I still need to watch, it's overwhelming, lol. Scalpel is first on my list!

    Scream for Help! You're in for a treat with that one. Can't go wrong with Michael Winner in the 80s!

      Michael Winner was hit and miss throughout his career
      because he never actually did anything.
      He didn't really direct anything,
      he just let everyone get on with it.
      People that worked with him would say
      "If you needed Mike, he was in the pub."
      The movie could turn out to be Gold or it could be a stinker.
      The results would vary.

      @@abegarfield7031 very true. Haven’t read many good things about him but there doesn’t seem to be a batshit crazy idea that Winner didn’t like. I would never accuse any of his films as being high art - or, in many cases, good - but if you’re looking for cheesy sleazy fun, Winner usually comes out a winner

    This was cool! Nice to see what everyone got-- and I'm glad you guy's showed the cover after each drawing so we could check out the artwork. I see Justin got Hider In The House. "Rush Week" is fun! I reviewed it a few years back and it just recently got a cool Blu-ray release. I couldn't finish "Edge of Sanity" either and I've tried watching it twice haha. That was a fun video though. Congrats on the VHS haul!

  • @80sSlashers
    @80sSlashers 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Awesome! That is always a fun thing to do. I think you both made out pretty good with some great titles and some other ones that might be fun or at least fun to laugh at. I reviewed "Rush Week" it is definitely a horror flick and it was pretty good. One of those half 80s slasher half Animal House comedy, but it works.

      The Slashers I've seen, Rush Week, Graduation Day, Blood Hook and Madhouse. Satan's Blade is a slasher but I've yet to see it but am currently working on a trade to get the blu ray.

    Blood Link is extremely good! Alberto De Martino one of the best out of Italy. Need to do a show on that one. Nice pick ups! Plus Blood Link is rare as you can't even buy on DVD. Excellent film, clever writing and plot.

      @@FrightfullyForgotten also "The Antichrist" by Alberto De Martino is an excellent Exorcist ripoff and would make an awesome show. The Possessed character vomits in her hand and makes people eat it. Instead of levitating like in the Exorcist, she flies around the house and out the window. She's able to detach her arm and choke the ish out of people like Stubbs the Zombie. Has some bad special affects but is a really good rip off otherwise. Released only a year after The Exorcist. Also Formula for a Murder and Shadows in an Empty Room by De Martino. They feature characters with a disability and De Martino does an excellent job at using that to generate suspense and fear. Blind characters running from the killer are usually great.

      You're not wrong-In my experience, tube TVs, which used to be everywhere are now nowhere to be found at the usual thrift stores and pawn shops. VCRs, on the other hand are pretty common in my area. I have about 5 in my storage closet waiting to be cleaned and tested. It's kind of an odd experience to find yourself looking for an old, shitty TV and a VCR to watch these gems when we're surrounded by 90" OLED TVs, Blu-Ray players and my little ROKU pal who can stream whatever, whenever. For me, it's kind of a deep, Zen thing to take me back to the "good ol' days." A bit like the time-travel method in "Somewhere in Time."
