I love this video coverage of my car !!! It's a beautiful factory 4 speed Dodge muscle car and it rips real good lol Thank you to Muscle Car Campy for a very well done segment on these crazy Chryslers ..... My name is Matt Gause of Gause Garage, and I approved this message 😂😁💯
Let's Rock! I have driven the Fish the last two month's very often, 4 tanks worth, 6 awards, lots of smiles and one lost iWatch! Apparently the magnetic band is only rated for 75MPH! Gotta look cool with you arm out the drivers side! I Love this Dart Matt, Bet it is Fun to Drive! The fish has a 3800 Stall and 3.55 gears, still makes you smile!😎
Great car ! Great sounds ! A great video that brought back memories of another '68 Dodge with a day 2 383 that one of my high school friends proudly owned....the Super Bee ! 1968 was a good year for American muscle ! Thanks for doing a feature on this fantastic Dart, Campy !
This is my absolute favorite Dart body! I refer to these as smaller Road Runners. I've only seen a couple with the big block and I believe one was the 440. I like the idea of it being a 4 speed car. I'd be happy with a 340 under hood. 😉

I had a '68, 383, four-speed, drop-top Barracuda, for a while. Such a fun car!
Actually, Mr. Norm wasn't the first to install a 383 in a 67 Chrysler a-body. Plymouth offered the Barracuda from pretty much the get go of the model year. Dodge was not planning on this, but Norm was a Dodge dealer, and wanted Dodge to do it as well. These big block cars, including the 68 Hemi and 69 440 versions were not intended to be mass sellers, but allowed drag racers to use these blocks in the stock classes, which were very popular selling tools for the manufacturers.
G'day Muscle Car Campy, What a awesome GTS Dart got this similar in a 1:18 Diecast. I own a 1970 VG Valiant 770 Hemi Hardtop exact same body with Aussie sheet metal from the windscreen forward. How does one send you pictures of my car. Love this episode sounds awesome in the speakers. Cheers Louis Kats from Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺 👍
I’ve seen more freaks here in Sarasota than when I lived in Pinellas. 3 weeks ago I saw an original unmolested 69 RS Z28 with the original owner around UTC. Nice Video, I remember riding up the street on my Stingray in Philly just staring at these cars when they were brand new. Thank You 🙏
Liteweight tin can Dart body. Combined w that sweet sounding 383, 4sp. And you have a smiles per mile recipe. 😀 is the tach stuck ? Another good ep. Campy 😎
In the Canadian town I lived in, I used to pass by a red 68 Dart GTS convertible, 383, 4spd. with white interior and a white top, in the late 70's. An extremely rare car especially in a place like Canada. Through the grapevine I heard that it was kept for the son of a guy in town...who destroyed it in an accident. It probably had disc brakes and standard steering.
How so? Six pack cars were still to come, E-bodies, too, not to mention wing cars.

@@musclecarcampy9922 Six packs are/were grossly overrated. So were the wing cars. If you look across the entire lineup, Plymouth, Dodge, Chrysler and Imperial, '68 was superior.
I had two friend's , one had a stock , new 68 GTX four speed , the other had the cat you are showing , it two was a new 68 GTX , 4 speed , one had a 340 , the other had a 383 , the 340 would beat the 383 every time ?
@@chuckschillingvideosOut of 172,000 or so Darts built, we think it is. It is not ZL1 Camaro rare, but they were uncommon new and certainly rare today.

I Love my 70 340 Duster but I'm really liking this Dart alot . Great video . Thanks for sharing . Love the Dart .
MOPAR OR NO CAR !
You're not alone! I've got a feeling a lot of folks are going to want a Dart after seeing this one!
Really sounds great.

Good old American muscle back when they built cars. Love the video!

We love the Darts too!
Gotta love a man that DRIVES his cars as they were meant to be!
Absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful red. Stunning Mopar Muscle Classic Dart. ❤
Such a cool car. Glad you reviewed it. I miss them all.
Nice to see a car used for what it was meant.

Beautiful old Dart, looks and sounds great !!!!!
Thanks for the kind words. It's a very special car.
I use to have a Orange 383 4 spd GTS 68 Dart
It's almost shocking to remember that cars used to be built with the ground clearance of an 4x4 😂😂😂
Now these days newer cars, you go over a speed bump or pull up into your driveway you scrape your front end.
I could have gotten the twin to this car back in '76, but had a '65 Belvedere 383 4bbl 4-spd. Nice car!
Your Belvedere looks much better

Beautiful dart ! My dad had the ‘68 dart 340 gts when I was a kid . Was fast as hell .
Early 68 still has the Chrysler inland on it.
👍🤙

Another good ep. Campy 😎
That looked like 681 in Nokomis in the beginning .
I like everything about the car. Don't change a thing.
Doesn't sound like the 270 horse 383, not with that camshaft, one of my dream cars.
Well, it did make 300 in ‘68.
This one dynoed at 345

Try one of these but with a 426 race hemi in the front. 750 horse factory engine. No joke I saw it in Louisiana. Factory
383 GTS Dart (check). Four Speed (check). Bright Red (Check). Black rear stripe (check). Poverty Caps (check). Square Mopar Exhaust Tips & crackling exhaust note (check). I’d ask this car to marry me.
Sounds like you have good taste!
nice i have a twin to this one its maroon red inside , needs restored but run and drives
Great car to own.
Nice, clean, simple Hot Rod. Hot summer nights with a new girl and a pocket full of dough….rowing through the gears.⚙️

1968, the last overall excellent year for Mopar.

We had one badass car. In 80s.lot fun it died one night in a ditch side ways...dad sold it next day. Hay whit I was. 16yrs.........koolcar
I am very interested in this car
Good. Watch the video again and again. It is the only cure.
No disappointment in that car...
Relatively simple add on. I had a '69. The 4 wheel drum brakes suck.
What was a simple add on?
The larger wheels and tires the other fellow was talking about
@@garybishop4030Four wheel drums on my ‘71 Barracuda sucked.
They should make cars like that today alot of baby boomers would love to buy them at the right price i had a GTO a 442 bring them back 3:25

What's so "rare" about a 383?
Did you watch the video? Fewer than a thousand 383s went into the Dart with a 4-speed.
@@musclecarcampy9922 I don't consider a thousand rare.

That car needs an upgrade on the wheels and tires, and likely brakes as needed. 5.5" steelies gotta go.
Front knuckles and disc brakes from a mid seventies Dart .
