I think short hair is more work than long. Just my opinion. However, everyone should have what they want and please only themselves

I agree when the short hair cut comes from the salon it is the most beautiful hair I've ever seen...however, seldom clients can keep it up....and what is left is a hot mess....

I am 78 yrs. old. I have no intention of ever getting your type of work done. I don’t know of anyone here in Los Angeles with your caliber of expertise. I just love watching you work. If you are ever in Los Angeles I’d love to have you do my hair. I think you can do just everything for the hair, no matter what the condition of the hair. God has truly blessed you.

Your client looked very relaxed as you were cuttin her hair. That says that she trusts you with her hair & that you'll give her the style she requested. Why relax her hair? Her hair seems to grow straight from the root. I have the same texture hair and my hair gets bone straight with just a blow dry. On a positive note, her hair turned out beautiful!
I may be wrong, but I believe it’s because she sweats alot from her scalp. Even though her hair is naturally straightish, it may have a puffy look to it after she sweats out the blow dry which is going to be more obvious now that her hair is short.
Her is overall naturally curly, I think. Also, she mentioned she sweats a lot, so the relaxer will help her maintain her short (straightened) style longer, in between washes.

Amen, short hair is much more work. I use to wear mine short; every time I think about cutting it these videos remind me not to.
I was waiting for a final trim of the neck like. Also it always makes me wonder why the haidressers make some sophisticated hairdo instead just styling the natural curl (in this case) and show the client how to simply and nice style it at home (so it is corrsponding with the new shape of the cut)

I agree! But most of the time the hairstylist does this complicated styling that is sometimes impossible to do at home. They want their work to look presentable and complete and I get it. She looks greats in the video.
But I think you are right, for me this cut seemed very complicated to maintain. When she gets home that cut may end up looking more like an old lady hairdo. When I see this cut, it looks great coming out of the salon, but once the hair breaks in, it doesn’t look as good because the client doesn’t know how to maintain it.
I know plenty of older women with this hairdo (my mother’s friends). Later they end up cutting their own hair to maintain it short, they think it’s easy, but it looks so bad when they do it. 😂
-When my sister gets her haircut she ask him not to style it, but you have to request that. Plus you are sort of paying for them to style your hair. Best

You do very good work at staying in touch with the what the client want and need. Her hair looks beautiful.
Learning what your hair responds to is very important ( shampoos , conditioning, leave-ins, gels, serums). Short style will lay nicely when wrapped nightly. Most people think you do nothing to your hair when short . You have to maintain your hair so it’s growing healthy.

I'm 58 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. Since September 2019, I liked the color of my silver white coming through. I broke my forearm in March of 2020, so I also let it grow. Now I have natural lovely frosted hair. I hope she enjoys her hair, thank you for sharing, Sonja and Christopher

Her hair cut is gorgeous. I went to the barber shop in 2017, and got my butt length hair, shaved off, so I could embrace my Salt & Pepper curly locks. I only added heat to my hair at that time, twice a year, as it took me forever to flat iron it. But after watching Chrystal for the past 10 months, I learned that I was in fact Silk Pressing my hair. Fast forward 5 years. I have not put heat on my hair at all & my hair is almost to my butt again.
