- Unexpected heavy rains this time of year around and on the Bonneville Salt Falts flooded out Speedweek 2022. This forced The Garage Shop team to load up in the water and get ready for future land speed races at El Mirage, Blytheville, AR and - hopefully - return to Bonneville later this year.
You can easily why it was cancelled in this video with our own Tim Packman.

In reality EVERYONE should be celebrating the great fortune that mom is bestowing on the area. There has been a serious concern for a while about the water table and lack of underground support water. Mom knows what her earth needs and for millions of years managed the environment. The fact that it happened right now in human time, mom could care less. Be thankful that she created such a place you can use and enjoy.
We agree an support Mother Nature 1st. 😁
What a bummer! Gotta be a huge kick in the gut after all the time and effort to get ready for speed week. Looking forward to the next event and see these cars roar!

Saturday night..at the Nugget..then I look up in the sky and race back to camp only to find destruction..rain and 60 mph winds. AMA in a couple weeks. We will return

Such a disappointment, you all must be devastated… this is one of the best builds and your updates have a great journey to follow… I’m sure these cars will break records it’s only a matter of time.. please keep the updates coming and even more in-depth conversations on the build, those beautiful Roush/Yates engines.. to everyone on this build the very best for the future and records broken. 🏁🏁🏆🏆

Tim, it was a mess and the storm on Saturday was intense. I hate it especially as the team put a lot hard work in it to get the cars build and ready for this event.
Tom and I truly enjoyed (and appreciated) to be allowed to hang around with Aaron, Vance and the entire team through and after the storm. (We had a blast at the Black and White Bar).
There will be another race hopefully this year and we will try to be there. And for next year I’m planing to drive my Hot Rod out to Speed Week.

Yes, it was a very unfortunate situation for everyone involved. Glad you had fun hanging out with us, and we'll see you again - for sure.

Thought there was a drought
That went away pretty quick out there with one big storm.
Make sure you wash everything that got stuck in that water, salt water sucks!!!!
It started that day with fresh water washing and then lubricants on parts to keep them from corroding.
Everyone's walking on water....Didn't Jesus do that too?
