  • Here is one of my expressions, this time on canvas, I hope you will enjoy it.
    Prep the canvas one time with Amsterdam Acrylic varnish, Gloss
    .
    Alcohol ink colors
    copic various N5 Neutral Gray
    Ranger ink , Flamingo and Oregano
    .
    isopropyl
    mini applicator
    Markers from Copic ciao, Winsor &Newton and Spectrum Noir.

    Acrylic ink from Schmincke , black

    Beautiful! Loving the texture from the varnish stroke. Also loved that you used dots with the “trees.” It softens them up quite a bit...which I love with the softness of Alc Ink.

    Love this, I so love the vibrancy of alcohol inks but I have found difficulty working on large surfaces. Will definitely try this on canvas. Xx

    Great Video. I'm just now getting into Alcohol inks. Mainly because I'm in Hawaii and I can't do big regular acrylic pours here. You're my Fav! I will give you Kudo's on my channel when I get good enough to do a video with ink.

    I love those colors! Is the varnish to create a waterproof barrier on the canvas?

      Thank you very much, yes it gives a smoother surface and doesn't suck as much of the ink

    Absolutely Gorgeous!!!! Do you have to use varnish to prep the canvas? I have 2 different spray varnishes. Or could I use a few coats of Gesso? I love your beautiful artwork. You are amazing!

    I'm intrigued with this Amsterdam Acrylic Varnish - the video is showing some streaking from the varnish. please advise if it's prominent or is it what the camera is picking up ! Thank you very much for sharing your expertise.

      Yes that is a heat gun I use in this video, the brand is Artemio heat gun.

      I actually do not know, I used transparent shellac before but this varnish is just as good and cheaper.

    Thank you so much. May I ask: What does the Acrylic Varnish (Gloss) do to the canvas after applying? Is it to preserve it? Or is it a Primer? I've never heard of it.

      I have a feeling that it is probably to give a smoother finish to the canvas to allow a better flow for the inks maybe?

      the varnish closes down to the canvas so it doesn't sink in and it gives a better flow to your ink 👍

    Beautiful work. I could not get my black ink to spider like that. As a tutorial I need more direction. Please tell us what you are doing as you are doing it and what products you are using. I see it in the description box, but it's just not enough for me. Thanks.

      I know that not all acrylic inks can do this, that's why I write the name of the brand I use in the description

    Do you have a plan of what artwork you’re going to video or do you just wing it? Are you ever worried about the colors getting muddy? Do you think spray varnish would be just as effective on canvas? Are you going to resin this? This piece is very cool!

      I plan color choices and surface and a little idea of ​​how it should end, but it rarely ends as I thought

      if you use spray paint you have to do it several times, i prefer to brush it on.
      i don't think i will close it with resin.

      but you can buy it online.
      look for heat gun

    Just simply exquisite, I love this.
    I’m new to alcohol ink and while recognise their application I don’t know what the stamp is or what you applied to it.
    You have inspired me to try the acrylic ink also with the markers, again really beautiful.

      The name is just : small applicator and it is from Ranger ink.
      I drip on small drops of isopropyl and use it on top of the alcohol ink 👍

      You can seal it with all4one molotow spray, it works very well with alcohol ink.

    I love your art. Please tell me what the air gun or heat gun is that you are using. A regular hair dryer doesn't work. I have searched the internet to find this small hand held air gun. Thank you.

      The one I use in this video is an Artemio heat gun.

      @@ziminoart7889 Thank you. I have a heat gun but it smells so bad when it gets hot. I checked on the Artemio heat gun on Amazon and found similar ones to yours but they didn't have a way to lower the heat. I just ordered a small travel
      hairdryer with a lower speed so my ink won't be splattered all over the paper or canvas. My last one blew up. LOL I will let you know how it works.

      Hi Linda I bought my airbrush here in Denmark in a shop called Biltema, my air bruch is an 17-371 That is the name !
      And the compressor is an MC 90

      I use a applicator from Ranger ink,
      a small stamp where there is a small cushion on when you drip color or alcohol on and press it down on the painting then it creates structure in the surface

    Did not realize you could ink on canvas. Love your painting. Is that a hair dryer or an embossing gun you use. And if embossing gun why you use it instead of the hair dyer. I always look forward to you videos.

      I use heat gun because I want it to dry as soon as possible.
      it is easier to control where the ink flows.
      but you can use a hair dryer 👍
