Guys my mother and father don't know anything about the piano and I litsen to this piece I was shocked
I wanted to learn it
I started 2 Months ago and I can play at 85% tempo idk everyone is saying it's Soo hard
I was practicing for 6 hrs a day
Did what I do was normal or smth because my parents were showing the same reaction as I started playing
@@alawe-memes9022 cool
I'm so proud of myself. After 3 weeks of nonstop practice I can finally play up to 0:05!
😂
+Lucas Penny Yep definitely checked that to see what's the music played at 0:05 lol
+Lucas Penny took you long enough
+Lucas Penny hahahahahaha :)
Ohhh my xD
after 4 1/2 hours I'm proud to say I've mastered the first note!
+Andy Dico no one asked for your opinion so gtfo. You're so obnoxious replying to almost everyone's comments saying you did this and that. Stop trying to brag and get off the internet
+Andy D. Dude, you should be able to sight-read the right hand. That's nothing.
King Dedede woah... I may be good but I'm not THAT good!
+Andy D. A bit disappointing for guy that has boasted so much on this page. I thought you would've been a master.
Tasman Kuang I NEVER said I would be a master.
2019 - people be flexing with their supreme stuff and flash cars.
1802 - THIS is a flex
this is still a flex imo
That's so true! We live in an empty shallow society. 😒
wdym? this is still a flex, having a steinway & sons is a real flex till today, or any piano that isnt keyboard or digital piano
This is definitely still a hard flex
DLCSadBoy
Lol digital pianos sucks a$$, steinwyas and sons have much more range, and many keyboards don’t even have the ability to change the sound, no matter how hard or soft u press a key. And when are u even going to use 300 sounds? Honestly the amount of idiots on yt
two weeks ago my friend said I could learn this . I'm still laughing
just like me :D
so you no it?
+milind parmar I learned it in 5 months, so you can do that, too!
Ive been playing for a year in total and ive learnt this and im on fantasie impromtu now, lol
Harvey Hammond-Miller You can play it, but you will play it bad and wrong.
Tips to anyone playing this for real:
First off, please understand I'm NOT trying to brag, I'm genuinely giving real tips as someone who has played this before.
Before even attempting to play this, please know your scales and chords. This will help SO MUCH, not only for this piece, but for any future piece.
Leading up to playing for the first time: It's actually not as hard as it seems. The third movement is primarily all patterns in different keys. Muscle memory will do the work.
Now, it's your first practice of the day. DON'T start off with this piece. Obviously, it is at a fast tempo. Start off with a quick warm up (which could be scales!) My warm up was actually the first and second movements of Moonlight. Also, split up the movement into smaller sections (once you see it, you'll clearly know there are certain "sections" that have their own style). It will make practicing much easier.
This goes out to anyone with small hands-- If you are trying to play 0:52 and find yourself feeling very uncomfortable or unable to reach it, just ignore the bottom octave in the right hand. (I know the struggle of having small hands, I played this when I was 13 with like 17cm/6 1/2 inch hands rip).
1:35 and similar parts: I practiced these notes completely by themselves to get the feel and speed. Think of them as large interval grace notes, it'll take time to perfect.
1:49 This took a lot of practice as well, I used the fingerings from jumping 1 - 3 - 5 - 5 - 1 - 3 - 5 - 5. The hardest part is accurately hitting the 5 - 1.
3:32 (Also including runs such as the intro) Alright, this was one of the hardest parts for me honestly. I'm a righty and I play violin, so I'm much more used to the treble cleff than anything. What I did was forget about the right hand (it's just a pattern) and practice my left hand by itself.
3:50 My LEAST FAVORITE spot. You WILL get hand cramps in your left hand. It's just constant octaves. There's nothing to do about it except stamina :/
4:14 Chord - Use una corda for this, it'll give a nice muffle sound.
5:46 Not much to say about this, just wanted to let you know it's fun to play lmao
6:06 Ah, the demonic ending. For anyone with large hands, octaves shouldn't be too hard, you can also use 1 - 4. To those with small hands, I pray for you.
6:09 Again, I practiced these by themselves. ESPECIALLY the run back up, those were tough to get down. Use a metronome, it's really helpful!
6:20 Chromatic scale. Not too hard, just get the fingerings down and it should be a breeze.
6:48 The iconic ending. Your right hand should be a master of this by now, good luck getting the left hand to do the same, haha (what a pain...)!
Alright, that's all I have for specifics. If anyone has any more questions, I'll try to answer them to the best of my ability! And now, I'm not a teacher, haha, I'm just a random Asian teenage girl who would like to spare your souls :) As a time frame, I learned this in about three to four months with around two hours of practice each day. Neat little note: It made my WPM 110 for a few weeks I shit you not.
Anyways, good luck to everyone trying this! Practice makes perfect! Time for me to go die trying to learn Chopin Etudes!
「Xiaoya 小雅」 easy for u coz u Asian bro
Sry but I was too lazy too read all this
「Xiaoya 小雅」 well the two comments you have ate pretty braindead BUT THANK YOU! I really do need to learn my scales, I can't even do the C one without messing up which is worrying. And wow 13, as expected of the golden hyung ππ
Even though this was 2 months ago I’m actually gonna use this as help
Thank you so much 😄 I wanted to practice playing this but I didn't even know where to start lol
I'd encourage anyone who's on the fence about learning this to go ahead and try it. It's so much fun to play once you get the hang of it. I played this many years ago and struggled at first because I couldn't quite reach an octave yet, but once my hands grew this piece really came into its own for me. One of my favorite pieces to play - well worth the effort. And to be honest, it's not quite as hard as it sounds.
Jeffrey Wong for someone poor like me who has just youtube as a teacher, man this song is hard as hell
H13011 Get a copy off of IMSLP.org - it's free! You can find almost any piece on there as long as it's not copyrighted.
Tanks man
I'm currently learning it right now and once I break it down into parts I realize it's not that difficult at all! With TH-cam being my only teacher it's going well because I am an independent.
i used to be like you =))) couldn't reach an octave =))) ( i'm 13 so my fingers are soo short ) but after i learn a song that have a shit loads of octaves in it. now i'm very comfortable with octaves

Got the first 17 seconds in the bag....only took me a year. :P
Anon Ymous After a very long time now, I too have also gotten to 17 seconds in...
JK I've gotten to 5:55
Anon Ymous if anyone's actually struggling with the first part, then play the arpeggios as normal chords, slowly until you can keep up with the real pace, then split the chords again.. The chords themselves aren't too bad..
Krykonator Agreed.
I think your pinkie isn't relaxed enough xD Chill out, no one gets it right the first time (maybe except Mozart..)
Anon Ymous I can only play the left hand with two hands :D
It looks hard when you watch it, but when you play it… it's harder.
NO, it's easier
Nahhh nah nah nahh It's definitely harder
xXSwagKittyXx I can play this and it's easier than it looks, in my opinion
Jamesi03 Oh ok.. but I'm a beginner so it's extremely difficult for me.
i agree that the arpeggio part is easier than it looks, but the rest of the piece is way harder than it looks
it's an incredible feeling to have your mind blown by a piece of music that's over 200 years old.

Dark Souls 3 is easy as shit though. Dark Souls 2 DLC was harder than the entire game. Along with the first games DLC.
it’s actually easier than it looks, for me, it didn’t take that long. It’s just about learning it slowly and keep practicing.
If you’re thinking about playing it, I think you definitely should, it’s a piece of art
Cristina Castellanos Can you play it at this speed? And no, most comments on this video is from people who barely play the piano. Its not a good piece to start.
@@greenapple306 She didn't say it was a good piece to start
Cristina Castellanos it’s taken me a little over a month
@@greenapple306 Thats a presto agitato. If you cant play it fast, you simply cant play it. Dont encourage people to give it a try if they are not ready, it only will frustrate them.

Just try and learn one hand at a time. For instance just learn whats blue first. Forget about the right hand. Once you have that down then learn only the right. Youll find that its alot easier to learn it. The fun/hard part is putting the two parts together! For that part I suggest smoking some sativa strain and try playing it. You will find that your brain will mesh the two parts together alot easier. It worked for me on Nuvole Bianche by Ludovico Einaudi.
Practice 2000 years to learn this
After 10 months I'm still only 2 minutes into the first movement
Man, that's pretty good especially if it's in tempo. I just got the beginning part before the forte passage in around 2 months but I'm not sure if that's even a ton of improvement
To play this you must be in a slightly different position than usual. When the song begins, play like you normally would. As the song progresses, place your foot atop the piano and slowly bring your weight down on it. Eventually you shall completely lie down on the piano and carefully distribute your weight. Now, the next step may require assistance for amateurs. This can be from siblings, friends, spouses, or pets. All participating shall flop on the piano like fishes desperately gasping for fish oxygen. This requires much practice and study to succeed. It is recommended that you take several times more caffeine than usual. Any seizures that may be induced are encouraged. Others can also help by dragging their faces wherever keys seem neglected. As others may have demonstrated, random children are especially helpful for this part. They tend to become professionals in no time. Try to keep the steady pace of a cheetah who just got its cheetah girlfriend stolen by a flying monkey. Many will have passed out by the ending, but if you have not, good job. You now have three days to live

Beethoven was basically imagining the moon crashing on earth when he wrote this...
Lmao 😂😂😂😂
Actually, Beethoven didn’t name this sonata “Moonlight.” While Beethoven did name some of his 32 piano sonatas, his fourteenth sonata (Moonlight Sonata) was not one of them. Until after his death, it was simply his Piano Sonata No. 14 in C sharp minor. This is why the third movement doesn’t really sound like moonlight.
that is quite fitting since the mayors meeting theme in majoras mask very likely seems to be inspired by this, a game in which your only goal is to prevent the moon from crashing onto the planet

What Beethoven was thinking while composing the sonatas
Moonlight Sonata no. 1 = lol okay ill go easy on them
Moonlight Sonata no.2= this is still easy--for me
Moonlight Sonata no.3 = Nah forget it ill just be me.
Just so you know, they are all one single sonata that has 3 movements
rabbia su un portafoglio perso
I see it more like this way:
1st movement: Beethoven just woke up, still kinda groggy, maybe hungover from last night
2nd movement: OK Beethoven's brushed his teeth and had breakfast, but still kinda sluggish
3rd movement: Beethoven on 8000 cups of coffee trying to smash a bug that's running along the keys at mach 8
what Beethoven actually did is change the order of the movements the first has to be fast then second is slower and third is your choice but most commonly even slower

Lachlan Keller not the real reason but do u want the true story
@Annoe Joestar I believe he was goin g deaf and this was the result of his anger
Jw- piano On the contrary, at this time in his life, the primary reason for this piece was unrequited love. See, Beethoven was in love with one of his pupils, Countess Julia Guicciardi, whom he believed to be below him in terms of status, although this proved disingenuous, since she was the daughter of members of the Austrian aristocracy.
In any case, Beethoven eventually proposed marriage to her, and, although Julia herself wasn’t opposed to this, her father banned this due to Beethoven’s peculiar nature and lack of wealth.
This rejection led to Beethoven dedicating this sonata to her.
Originally titled “Sonata quasi una fantasia”, Moonlight sonata received its modern name when a music critic compares it to the moon setting over Lake Lucerne.

Not really… It’s actually very basic I don’t know why people go on and on about this piece it is so simple in its structure… It’s just broken cord play that 16th notes… He doesn’t even mess with time at all it’s very simple
Then how do you think music was created? Soneone had to create music from their head lol
@@Rachmanfan4life Could be basic, but it's hard as hell. And also good as hell.
Enjoy.. If you want be inspired with anything just listen alone in a calm place classic music and your mind will be hacked and enjoy the ride..
Stay safe

+Edgy Niles Krane rest notes? :^)
how I learned is just by watching this video everyday, over and over.. actually it is quite easy and because it is a sonata, it will repeat, that means that you can learn this fast, if you take time for it and go through it slowely.. now I can play the whole right hand section, I learned in like 4/5 months, just watched every note go. way to go, now learning the left hand, it is going great, but I don't think that I can play them both at the same time.. I just can't do that! also I never had piano lessons before, just learning it all by myself!
Mahonii Kunt Keep going my friend, you will succeed. It's worth it !
Dude that's freaking awesome. Not to detract from anything you've done but it sounds like you need a teacher. Like seriously man, you sound like you have so much potential!
Its way too hard without piano lessen
+Nikolas Wilhelms

+Mahonii Kunt lol i dont know if this works for the more advanced stuff, but i usually listen to a piece over and over again till i can play it in my mind from starting to end, after that i pick up the sheet music of it and then try playing it, it's super easy that way. I've only tried this with more simple pieces like fur Elise and canon in d.so i cant say how it works for music like this.
When u haven't done the dishes and your mum's coming up the stairs to give u the beating of a lifetime but you try to run...
Elizabeth Hide 1st movement: oh no. My life is over. My mother will murder me. What if I run?
2nd movement: Ok I ran. I think I lost her.
3rd movement: OH SHIT!!!!! WHY DID I CHOOSE TO RUN?!? FUUUUUUUUU-

Imagine Beethoven in heaven listening to his kusic for the first time like *"oh i meant for that to be an A#"*
Beethoven when he can hear:
“Oh wait I meant for the song to be more aggressive. Time to release moonlight sonata movement 4”
To think that beethoven never married.
He was a master/musician how come no girl wanted that D Major? they must have wanted the D Minor...
OMG XD
He was to busy practicing for greatness! Imagine being fingered by him
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Right...I'm just gonna keep scrolling...
Meis smart lol
them ladies must have loved beethoven if you know what i mean
Thats the one joke that not everyone can understand...
Toprak Koç yeah, I don't get it...
Zoravur Singh
A joke's not funny if you have to explain it.
XD Lol I get it
LOL
I Working on this for 2 months and nearly 1 minute is done! xD
"And one minute is done" I understand you.. but BAHAHAHAHA
Now, you can call me dumb for saying this but if you really did do nearly one minute, that's pretty good considering the fact that this is as hard as flight of the bubble. But seriously just listen to one minute of the song.
Hey at least ure Making progress
Boran Birtanır omg same 😂😂
except its been 2 days 😅
Asa Hopkins flight of the bumble bee is definitely harder
Beethoven used No Mercy!
IT'S A CRITICAL HIT!
😎YEAHHHHHHH
tHIS FOR SOME REASON SOUNDS SO MUCH BETTER THAN ACTUAL PREFORMANCES
Probably because this is designed after the original sheet music, most pianists can barely play it 100%
It's a co
how i wish valentina lisitsa had another video file playing this...
The actual performance was centuries ago
Chris Shearer Lies, most pianist can play at this speed, this is nowhere near one of those "hard even for pianists" pieces
I'm being honest when I say this, but I listen to this song just about everday. It really channels my emotions. I hope one day I will learn this wonderful piece of music.
It's been a year, have you learned it yet?
Sean Miller Same here, the piece is phenomenal.
Follow your dreams
@@madeleinemusgrave5578 I haven’t been active on TH-cam in quite some time haha but sadly no. I haven’t been able to pick up piano for quite a long time but maybe someday!
That moment when your video lags at the tense part.
even computer cant handle it
that's my tablet
So...it lagged the entire time?
AwesomeFaceHD pretty much
the video worked fine for me
It looks so difficult but once you sit down and take a look at it it’s really not as bad as you think
It is even worse
When you need to write a 6 page paper in 7 minutes...
Fantazos you start playing mvt 3 on the paper?
Tanmoy Bhattacharjee I play it in the background for increased dramatic effect while doing some crazy Death Note moves
Tanmoy Bhattacharjee nah nah nah😂😂😂
i can play this, hold my beer.
i cant play this, give my beer back. :T
I can play this with one finger, but not in a piano of course.
my beer can play this, hold me

And to think the guy who made this song was DEAF
Thats why its sounds like this
He wasn'f deaf when he wrote this.and he was never completely deaf
Shail Choudhari he was completely deaf at one time.

never taken a single piano lesson and only learned from these Tutorials. I mean you can just barely tell what I’m playing cause there’s so many notes I’m missing. But it sounds like it !! Anyone can learn if they just practice!!
I too learnt the beginning part some how : th-cam.com/video/M17Qfd1SNL0/w-d-xo.html
Beethoven's way of saying "TAKE THIS MOZART!"
Should have just turned off replies, but you learn something new every day, thanks. Now I can delete the stupid comment, if you call it one.
TAKE THIS MOZART
neondr0p Shut the fuck up and go on the HUMOUR page of dictionnary.
HauteGameFR You're stupid. He was backing up the OP. You know, the guy who made the damn joke, dipshit.
CosmicPegasus(The Watcher) what are you talking about? You were right the first time. THAT GUY was the one who didn't know anything.
an asain le I'm so confused...since this was posted months ago...
I can play 0:00-0:05 very well
very impressive
Victoria Slamovits i can only go for 0:03
00:00-00:00 I can play very well!
Best version of moonlight sonata mov 3. Sounds the most furious out of all versions ive heard.
my hands hurt just watching
Late Night Thinker same here
Beethoven is amazing! He must've had some fast fingers..... and a lot of 5hr energy XD
HA, TUTORIAL
Chair 😂😂
Your username and Picture make it better😂😂
Considering it shows how long you should keep the notes, it is, indeed, a tutorial.
Yup, I'm learning this song by this video, since i have no idea how to read music notes, I'll stick to synthesia to learn faster :)
Also, I find this the hardest song to date that I'm trying to learn.. I got the intro down and clean, but the speed is just insane, i guess I'll get the speed down in a few days or so since it took me 2 days to memorize every note from the intro..
T. N. holy shirt same, it's just that I can't learn that easily :(
"If you can play it fast, you can play it faster"
Bethoven at the time of composing this
This music is WONDERFUL!!!
Alpha Saturn winters DELIGHTFUL!!!
All other musicians shall fade away and classify themselves as obsolete
I can play this blind folded, but I have to hit the play button first 😁

Im a kid so i know, im probably one of the best piano players, but this is still really hard, ive been learning for 2 montgs and can do 0:00 - 1:39
And then I’d be the only kid in class who even knows what this is, and to be able to play it...
I liked the "Now it's your turn" at the end of the video...
WHAT HUMAN CAN PLAY THIS!!!!!
Obviously not Beethoven, cause he was a fuckng alien.
Tiffany Poon
it looks spread out but its close together, the challenging part are the 16th notes, but once you get those down quite the easy song. of course only if you above average at playing x3

search murray perahia bethoven's 3rd mov sonata and you ll see haha.
if i could describe my anxiety it would sound like this

I be like:
During 1st movement: Ah, this is easy
During 2nd movement: I can do this, too
During 3rd movement: BEETHOVEN WHAT THE FUCK

ARPEGGIOS EVERYWHERE
But thank you for the tip though
+Mistermathew999 nonononononono.......no.... playing in arpeggios, ruins conception of the entire movement, you just need to practice it in 4 times slower tempo, then speed up a little and then play it fast
SO TRU
I know right? But after a few hundred times, I be like: this is so easy, until my dad starts taking up my mistakes.
I like the last part when the damper pedal is pushed and a very magical sound is produced
