She responds to this. I dont think there is anything unnatural about it. I didn't know there was a small controversy about it? Kind of a weird thing to get hung up on
Endless Infinity - I realise I'm replying to a five-year-old comment here, but I have to say that while I didn't know the members of the band, I knew people who did - and no matter what may have gone down at Lollapalooza in '92 (it was Perry Farrell's circus after all), I never heard anything to suggest Chris had remained a dabbler in heavy intoxicants in the long term. Having been besotted with Lush since I was 15, I had just turned 18 when I heard that Chris had passed - and I was surprised at how deeply saddened I was by it. Years later, I lost a friend to suicide shortly after having made plans to meet up with him the following weekend. Depression is a bastard of an illness and many of those who suffer from it tend to keep that fact very close to their chest - it would appear that both Chris and my friend fell into that category. Some days they're the life and soul of the conversation and other days they can be distant and unfocused whether intoxicants come into it or not.
And now im replying a four year comment here. Depression is a slow decay mental ilness who will possibily kill you. Consumes you slowly...I know that very well by me. But we have to live with it.
The beginning of Chris's downturn, IMHO. He was introduced to bad drugs while on the '92 Lallapalooza tour. He's very articulate here, but in later videos ('94-'96) his speech is cluttered with stutters and stammers. Very sad. He and Miki enjoyed smoking marijuana, as Phil confirms at the 1:29 sec mark. Don't do drugs or alcohol. I'm #49 on 9/23/09. I gave this video five stars.
Really good band for their style and sound. I heard the drummer committed suicide? They were a bit middle class people. Never heard much of their records played on the radio stations. Only 3 studio albums. All singles were catchy and cheerful😇
They also recorded "Blind Spot" in 2016 for their then reunion. It's kind of like a 4-songs maxi single. It's true about Chris, back in 1995-1996 he was suffering from depression and took his own life.
Consider the industry she was in and the circles in which she was moving. Difficult enough for a young guy, never mind a female, which means she would have had to deal with so much crap just because she happened to be very attractive.
Memories so sweet... So far now...
1:00 God she's beautiful. And that voice...
I like how their album and singles cover artwork never pushed the look of the band. It was all about the music for this talented group of young Brits.
That's a classic 4AD trait.
Mikis Cockney accent always surprises me.
That's because there's Nothing Natural about it.

i really miss them soo much
I think I miss Lush more than any other band from the alternative surge of the early 1990s.
Great band to roll to!
They were so special. Miki sings on Seinkling Ships' 2010 CD which is great
Miki was so clued up even then
I agree with you, especially since the Valentines reunion.
ah miki my high school crush
Yes she is lovely. Even now with 52 years...
Were miki and chris on again off again, or did that thing happen where you go out with someone in your 20s, and then break up to become friends?
STEVE
At 0:57 they wrongly label Phil as Steve haha
And when Phil replied about Chris and Miki being "party animals", he didn't mention marijuana or whatever, here.
"Nothing Natural"
@NeonDCL lol yeah, I noticed it too.
what is the name of the first song they are playing live at the gig?
Same question
nothing natural
@chrissylb100 And guess what ? I have a copy !

Miki was always so full of herself and arrogant, anyway, they were a great band.
Id rather say "cocky" than "full of herself", she has at least the ability to distance herself from what she lives.

@@julosx obviously in hindsight, but her autobio has really shined light on things
