    For this week's video, we traveled to the north of Spain to film the former home of a Spanish doctor named Guan Torres. Throughout his life, he had a real passion for his work and over time he became a well-known policy doctor. He builds a magnificent mansion for him and his family and for the bigger part of their life they used to live here. But his life was not completely without worry, his son Gose had trouble with staying on the right path, throughout his life, there were problems with assault and drug abuse. After Guan and his wife passed away and made heaven their new home Gose became the owner of the house. But through his record and problems with the law, he was not able to claim the house. Now it lays abandoned and forgotten, waiting for nature to reclaim it!

    I'm wearing my navy blue Bros. Of Decay tee, with the plan to watch as many of your videos as possible. My grandson leaves for college today and my granddaughter is babysitting for the weekend and my daughter is in Hawaii, so, I can watch as long as I want! Yay! I love seeing what you show us! Thank you so much!

    Finally a family that treasured family photos. I understand completely taking the memories but leaving the material things. Those can be replaced photos not so much unless you have negatives. Beautiful home

      Roberta Hubert Perhaps the daughter-in-law rescued the photos to share with her children. She perhaps loved and respected the children’s grandparents. I imagine she had no idea what she was getting herself into when she married.

    I believe the word you were looking for with the cloth paintings is “needlepoint”. When they are larger and not framed they are called “tapestries”. What an absolutely beautiful home. I’m so excited that y’all are exploring in Spain. I have always hoped to see more of this amazing country. So sad that the son was not able to take over the house. A wonderful video gentlemen, as always.

      Tapestries are sometimes woven, not embroidered, and reversible.

    • @zapacila2955
      @zapacila2955 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      And tapestries can also be framed (a lot of them actually are framed).

    • @vanessasimmons1175
      @vanessasimmons1175 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We call it cross stitch on linen, cotton etc. Tapestries are usually larger using wool or flax and depict a story. As in the famous Bayeux tapestry.

      I hate it to the point of almost not being able to watch. It kills me to see all the artwork, china and valuables left in these homes to rot! It's like putting a shotgun to the head of history! Why doesn't the country/state or whatever it's called not save the history of these places? At least the stuff inside. I think I'd rather someone take the stuff and use it and treasure it, then to be left to rot.

    I watched a similar video from EXPLOMO. The boys felt so bad after seeing a couple of rooms trashed ( the lady owner died ) that out of respect, the cleaned the rooms, put the clothes back into dresser, folded them, and put everything back into the room as to how they thought it should look. I thought that was a wonderful thing to do. I could only hope the rooms would not be trashed again.
    Kodak is coming back, to make Covid medicines.

    Your brother Jodi is such a good videographer. Actually the best I’ve seen so far on these explorers types. Most leave me dizzy and they don’t give any history or give you a chance to really take in the view. Thanks for taking us with you to Spain I haven’t left the house in months due to the virus. Stay safe

    I already commented on this, but I really need to say something. You say that the son was a criminal. But when the letter was read ,it was said that he was addicted to heroin. A person isn't a criminal because they have a disease. I am a former addict,but of pain pills. I am quite crippled and because of pain medication, I became addicted. It got really bad. Please don't judge someone else, you don't know about this person.
    He could say the same of you. That you are a criminal, because your in a house, that is NOT your own. Think about it.

      He did not call him a criminal because of drug use. It was because of all the other charges of abusing his wife and other things he did.

      I am sorry for your struggles...but, he wasn't judging or accusing him for drug abuse. It was related to other things he did.

      @@lorialderman4518 I am sorry, you are right. Some how I didn't hear of the other things he did, the first time I watched this. I apologize, I was wrong.
      Thankyou for pointing that out.

    Another good explore & a funny one too Bros. I liked the outside of the mansion with the two small balconies. Too bad such a nice old mansion is just sitting there rotting. ✌from the USA!
