This sample job interview helped me a lot to decrease my anxiety and nervousness. although this interview is for uk nurse I believe i still get some benefits from it for my job interview preparation.
Thank you Scholastica for the videos.. I will be sitting for CBT in two weeks time and I have got every other requirement available but don't know how to go about seeking for employment. I'll really appreciate your guidance at this time of Pandemic, regarding this. Thank you as I look forward to your reply soon.
Hi, dont worry too much about finding a job. Pass your exams first and the employers/agencies will chase after you. You can also send me your CV if you want me to refer you to the agency I used. You can join them at any stage. Scholasticaugboka@gmail.com

Hi dearie, pls there is this news I saw on the internet concerning recruitment to U.K.. I read Nigerian health professionals can not be recruited by UK NHS, pls how true is this? I need a feedback pls, bcos I just finished my contract in Saudi Arabia, and I want to go back to Nigeria and rest for few weeks, while I process my coming to U.K, but this news is driving me nuts right now. I am really worried.
I have been unable to confirm if this news is true or not, i called both NHS England and NMC UK to find out about it but they were not aware of anything like that, some individuals I asked also said it's an old news while others are saying its because of covid and after this pandemic things should go back to normal. However, I would suggest you continue preparing for your UK registration despite this, if it turns out to be true you can always get a job with a nursing home and come over then switch to hospital later and if its false you will be glad you didnt give up. The agency you decide to sign up with for your job search will let you know the situation of things when you get to that stage so dont let this news discourage you.
Good evening scholastica. Please there's a news that Uk recruitment agencies are no longer recruiting nurses from Nigeria. Can you tell us more about it. Thank you
Actually what is going round is that NHS should not employ from developing countries because those countries need their nurses too. However, I have been unable to confirm if this news is true or not. i called both NHS England and NMC UK to find out about it but they were not aware of anything like that. some individuals I asked said that article was written years ago and some Nurses were still and are still being employed by the NHS while others are saying its because of this covid situation and after this pandemic things should go back to normal. Anyway, my suggestion would be to continue preparing for your UK registration despite this news. if it turns out to be true you can always get a job with a nursing home and come over then switch to the hospital later and if its false you will be glad you didnt give up. Moreover, the agency you decide to sign up with for your job search will let you know the situation of things when you get to that stage so dont let this news discourage you or anyone that is planning to come over to the UK
@@myqueen0402 some employers prefer those with at least 1 year work experience but it's ok if you dont have a paid job experience. Just use your clinical placements as your experience. Most of the employers will employ a candidate that can perform the basic nursing procedures like giving meds and observations. As long as you show to them during your interview that you are willing to work hard and learn on the job you should be fine. And yes I'm on nairaland. I created the Nigerian nurses who want to travel abroad thread.
You will still have to undergo the registration process for overseas trained nurses to become registered as a nurse in the UK even if you come as a HCA. They are regulated by different bodies so being a HCA has nothing to do with being a nurse.
Very helpful video. Thank you so much scholastica. Please I have obtained job offers from both the NHS and a care home, I'm really confused as to which one to choose. Can you kindly help me decide? Thank you
Congratulations, no one can help you make the decision. You need to weigh the pros & cons of each sector and decide on the one that suits your needs more at this moment in your life. Check out this video to get an idea of what it means to work in a carehome and in the hospital th-cam.com/video/qAueSbZUB3Q/w-d-xo.html
I dont have a list of agencies but most of them recruit for care homes. I used MMA, you can also check online for more options and tell them the type of job you are looking for they will let you know if they can be of help or not.
I know there are difficult questions and also questions without an answer that they might ask. For such questions let the interviewer know that you are not sure of the answer but guess something and tell them you will look for the answer after the interview and let them know if possible. I have a video about this particular issue but I'm yet to upload it. I will do that soon.

Can new graduates start the immigration process? Without work experience
Yes they can. As long as you have passed your nursing council exam then you can start the UK registration process
@@ScholasticaUgboka Thanks for the quick response. but will the lack of work experience cause issues? Also are u on nairaland?

Are interviews currently going on for employment for overseas nurses?
No interviews for now because of the covid pandemic

It's very difficult to find a job as a midwife expecially when you are applying from outside the UK.
