    The vstar 1300 service manual can be found in/on the vstar 1300 wiki page in the files section/downloads.
    Link - vstar1300.pbworks.com/w/page/5760692/FrontPage
    Once you have the "SERVICE manual" you can refer to some of the pages that I mention in this, and upcoming videos.

    Tip: I have seen people put a Crown Royal bog on the caliper after removal to prevent it banging on the rim or fender. There is usually a place to hang it by the string until you can re-install. Excellent reason to go buy a bottle. Great video man, good to see another 1300 rider on TH-cam.

      Good tip , I will at times do that, or Ill stack a few bricks underneath to alleviate the stress.
      Good points. Another 1300 rider huh , awesome.. will swing by your channel.

      How did the balancer work..?

    • @AnthonysWestTexasRides
      @AnthonysWestTexasRides 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dbest1aVlogs It worked well, it has a level on it so you can be sure and adjust the 4 lower legs before you get started. It is a bikemaster model and the materials did not feel cheap. I ended up adding another 1/2 oz of weights to balance the tire and then added a little duct tape to help them stay on. It looked like I had some fall off.

    @SkeggyCruiser 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice how to bro, when I do mine it's pretty much the same but i only jack the bike just enough to take the weight off the front end, but with the tyre still touching the floor with only the weight of the wheel and tyre, that way you don't need to support the wheel whilst pulling the axle out, then jack up a touch more to remove the wheel from under the front fender, RSM8.

      The principal would be pretty much th same. If you can get the field service manual for your bike, that will give all the helpful torque specs. They are a huge help.

    • @dbest1aVlogs

      yes lightly . per the field service manual with lithium based grease. Important to read the manual. It will help you to not miss a lot of little things.

      I did a time lapse, and videod a little .. I do have video of the boring replacement in the vstar maintenance playlist. I needed a special Otc tool to pull the top race. If your lubing them then you dont need to do all that just pull the wheel, forks, headlight bucket, wires, pull the handlebars off the mount, pull the triple tree top. Then slide out the bottom triple tree, lube bearings, then reinstall as per manual for tourque specs..
      Gonna see if I can finish filming the forks tonight , n the wheel install...
      Stay tuned..
      Oh we ended up going to a buffet that night lol... my daughters got me good lol. It was fun.

    You need a special bracket on these bikes to keep from jacking against the motor.

    • @dbest1aVlogs

      Lol.. I will be filming that as soon as I get the front end all back together. Pulling the bearings to lube then film the forks going back on , then the wheel an the whole process I go through. I just needed to get some parts out the way especially before the 1st ride video.
