Can’t technology provide a smaller GPS unit? That thing is huge. Does the collar expand as he grows? How often is it adjusted?

What an amazing sight. It's not everyday you see a big cat! I'm glad everyone is safe and unharmed. They normally eat herbivores such as deer, not people or pets.

Male pumas need enormous territories and they can’t just wander into one of another male, it will kill him. When young males try to disperse to find a territory of their own they are at extremely high risk.

Too many deer on Angel Island. It's like that cat has radar for where he is needed.

Was driving home to Santa Cruz county from SF and this baby mountain lion cub got tossed out of a red jeep. The jeep was on the freeway started jerking side to side and swerving. The guy had a saddle for a horse in his red jeep back window. All I could see was him throwing the cub into the freeway. His tires missed it but it was 4 lanes and I don't see how a baby could make it. I glared at him as I passed him, like you're a real mountain man guy. I'm sure the cub crawled into the jeep to sleep in warmth. RIP baby. I would have tried to calm down put hazard lights on and pull off freeway to secure the cub and walk it out or swaddle it in a blanket. It was so young I don't see it doing a lot of damage to a human other than noise maybe hissing and a bad scratch but he was an idiot.

He's right we've already lost the California Grizzly and the Condor . It will be a sad day should we lose our state's big cat.

What the lions need more than anything is don't put out rat poison they eat poisoned animals and it leads to kidney damage and terrible sickness til they die or get care.

The young mountain lion P-36 ❤️ Should’ve been left alone in the first place, and let nature take its course!
Edit: I mean, just like at him, 1:45 looks like a government research subject 😢

but we stupid humans are destroying mother nature by developing open spaces into roadways, houses, factories. Other species are in peril because of our activities.

@@catwoman2596 I am wondering why you think he's weak? Seems strong for his age, and has survived crossing 5 freeways on his journey to find a home territory... I am glad we are learning about these animals so we can learn and protect their corridors!
