I could tell way back then that he was a special talent , an extremely intelligent young man. I’ve enjoyed watching him from his CHSAA career throughout his NBA career as a player and then a coach. I knew of his dad, his family, his surroundings coming up. Mark comes from the “ Village “ that we so often speak of in our community. Mark Jackson is a man of faith and integrity. * Kerr by contrast is a complete and effective coach. He includes ideas from D’Antoni but Kerr also runs the triangle. He will focus on defense. He is very effective with bigs. @@ram0666 He coached them for 3 seasons, one of which Curry missed a majority of the games. His 2nd season, they went to the 2nd round, 3rd season they ran into a Clippers team everyone picked to win the Finals and took them to 7 games. So he definitely didn't hold them back. Steph even said Jackson is the reason he didn't give up after his ankle injury. Jackson was fired because he had arguments with the front office. Had nothing to do with his coaching on the court at all because the team was improving...

      @@brandoni241 How do we know they wouldnt have won a title if Kerr took over a year before he did? Didnt Kerr win in his first year? Listen im not a M Jackson hater and he would probably be a solid coach but too many people give him a lil too much credit and fail to realize that he made some enemies when he coached GS. He got lucky that GS drafted a generational roster when he took over and if he took over a team with less talent would probably have a rough go of it. I do think he deserves another shot based on his coaching but there is plenty of speculation out there that he is homophobic and supposedly he pushes his religious beliefs on people.Its not all about X's and O's, teams hire coaches and players to be the faces of franchises and represent them to the public so if he doesnt represent a team like they want, that is more important than winning. No matter what, each team is a business and a brand and nobody is going to be a face of that organization and represent them in a negative way that may effect the bottom line.

    • @brandoni241
      @brandoni241 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ram0666 that's wasn't your original post. In your original comment you said Jackson held them back. And how do we know Kerr is a great coach? I mean all of that talent was there and they were a 50 win team, maybe he just got lucky too. If David Lee didn't get hurt would Draymond had gotten the opportunity he got? Because Bob Myers was a huge fan of David Lee and he was a focal point of the team until his injury. Things fell into place for Kerr too. Yes, I think Kerr is a decent coach, but we saw Luke Walton coach the team in Kerr's absence and it was still great. Walton did a terrible job in LA and Sacramento after. I do think Kerr is a better fit for the organization, but to say Jackson had nothing to do with the development of Steph (who the Warriors tried to trade and Jackson was against it), Draymond (who was a 2nd round pick that Jackson gave a lot of minutes too when he didn't have to), and Klay is ridiculous. Even Kerr said that he didn't change much when he took over from Jackson because the team was already working...

    • @ram0666

      @@brandoni241 Jackson very well could have held them back. The first year he was gone they won a title. So who is to say if they got rid of Jackson earlier they wouldnt have won earlier.All i know is that the first season that Jackson was gone ,Kerr led them to a title.I believe this shows Jackson underacheived with this group and Kerr would have led them to a title if he had taken over the year before he did.I am saying Jackson held them back. He didnt go further each year. His last year was a step back from the year before and i believe if Kerr would have taken over for Jackson a year earlier he would have won a title a year earlier .Jackson's last year they got bumped in the first round which was a major disappointment, I believe Kerr would have got more from that team. I believe that no coach can win a title without the necessary talent. Coaching and instruction isnt taking a mediocre team to a title. I believe all coaches get to much credit for winning and too much blame for losing.
