- Snap Generator is a Fusion 360 addin which creates snap geometries. It's free software, available at github.com/AlfMikael/snap-gen....

Awesome work! just tried it out on a item I needed to put clips on and worked out amazing thanks!
omg I'm so happy right now! I've literally been studying all day trying to learn how to make a good snap joint! the last video i come across is your video and i couldn't believe my eyes! you are a saint!!! I will use this tool so much! i cant thank you enough! i tried to go to your website i was going to see if there is a way to send you a couple bucks for this wonderful life improvement but your website won't pull up!? thank you for making this tool and giving it to the community for free! your awesome! well i look forward to what you have to offer in the future.
Thank you for your kind words. :)
This is awesome! Makes life WAY easier
Thanks for this work, super!
Nice tool so it will save lot more time for the imported body's to place in correct location.
Awesome work.
- Thx. I'm gonna check it out.
- "Wow, just discovered a bug." LOL :D
- "If debugging is the process of removing bugs, then programming is the process of putting them in!" (And, as a fellow program, I've put a few bugs in!)
Thank you for bringing this as I was still learning about fusion 360 for sure it would have taken a long time to do so. I have a question and it is that once it is printed in 3d, when you dock it, is there a way to undock it again or is it a single fitting and it would be fixed forever?
If the nose angle is 90 deg, then you may have a hard time getting it out. If the nose angle is 70 deg then it is no problem. The smaller the angle, the easier. I would not advise lower than 45 deg personally because that makes it weak.
@@alfmikaelconstantinou3798 ok, thanks for the recommendations. great job. new subscriber
Waw great work. That will save me so much time! Thank you for sharing this! PS. Your audio level is a little too quiet. I had to crack up the volume to max.
Thanks! I now notice that you're right about the volume. It's too low.
Thank you for making this add-in! I'm having a problem getting the cantilever to snap to the joint origin. It disappears when I select the snap joint. Then, Fusion crashes/closes. Any thoughts?
The add-on works great, but how do you get the controls back after you have completed the positioning via joint?
I wanted to adjust the cantilever clip after some part modifications and couldn't get the controls back.
You can't. You have to delete it from the design history and create a new one. The profiles are a way to partially overcome this limitation, so that you can store the parameters that you used in a profile and thus easily recreate the same geometry, or modify it.
Is there any tool to generate inbuilt supports in fusion360 student version for 3d printing
Not sure. I don't use the Fusion 360 slicer. I usually use the Prusa slicer.
@@alfmikaelconstantinou3798 actually I'm using cura it was giving supports where it doesn't require places
Do you have a step by step on how to rotate this to the side/plane your trying to attach it to? I can’t get this think to rotate to the side or plane I want it on. Thanks
You do this by moving or rotating the joint origin
It now shows up under solid->create->Snap Generator
Thank you I watched video 4 times before I read comments.
So probably a stupid question...how do you change the measurement format to inches...
When you write a number on a box it assumes millimeters, but you can also write "2 in" to force it to be inches
this is great. But how can i rotate it ???????
You can rotate it by modifying the joint origin that you created first.
