On a side note how fucked yet funny would it be if there where a member of a large community that plays this game then you go around dressed up as Preston Garvey busting into games saying "I'm sorry to Interrupt... But another settlement needs our help!"
Hello and thanks for the video ! I'm a bit confused by the Modiphius web store page of the game, so I have a few questions. Apologies if those were already answered in the video, I'm not an english native speaker, I may have missed them. There seems to be 3 different products, a rulebook and two tabletop games with maps and tokens and stuff. Are the maps and tokens and such required for the games, or is a rulebook and a few character sheets and dice enough to play ? Also, is prior knowledge of the universe necessary for a non GM player to understand the rules ? I would like to make my uninitiated friends discover the universe. Finally, is there a progression system to the characters, like a leveling system for example ? Or are characters bound to stay more or less the same since creation, only reliying on loot to improve ? Thanks !
the rulebook (and a bit of imagination on everyone's part) and the required dice are all you need to play the game. the other two bundles add items that can enhance the experience (like fallout brand dice and bottlecaps and markers).
This reply may be a bit late but just for any future vault dweller out there, Fallout the Roleplaying Game and Fallout: Wasteland Warfare are two separate games/products. This video is referencing to the former. As of today, only the Fallout Roleplaying Game corebook is available, with some accessories for sale such as dice, character sheet, etc. There are some bundles out there that include the nuka cola bottle caps, dice, Commonwealth map and GM toolkit. However, all you need is the corebook and some dice to play. The other product (Fallout Wasteland Warfare) is a totally different game and is miniature heavy. It also has tons of expansions and additional products. So when shopping around Modiphius, watch for the words Wasteland Warfare to separate the two.
Yes. Yes it does. I believe the vault dweller can spend action points but those who lack a pip boy (which is what enables VATS) They take a minus to their hit roll in trade of better damage or sunthin of the sort
Yes! I just played last night, and our player who was a doctor (and ghoulified former vault dweller) was able to use VATS. He still ended up accidentally shooting me in the hand, but that's because he rolled really poorly 😂😅

That’s a good point. But now GM’s will use Preston as an NPC, constantly following the Player characters.
