I was having this same issue. Beam was split before reaching the lens. I replaced the tube and it works better than ever.
Wow you're lucky that you can have a repair guy come out.
It was only because it was under warranty, I've since changed two tubes myself. It's not difficult, but there are some really high residual voltages in the tube so precautions definitely necessary! Never seen that particular fault again since was a really weird one. Thanks for watching!
Oh no! While I am happy you sent my stuff last week I am so sad this happened to you. Did you have to pay the £650? It wasn’t under warranty? You’d better start churning out more stuff for us to buy to cover these costs. I hate to say it, because it makes things more expensive for me :-), but don’t forget to include depreciation of your equipment in your costs. Let’s hope everything else goes okay. Another good video, even though it was about spending money. Very interesting to see. All the best, Kev.
Thanks for watching Tim! The tube is a consumable so I cost it in to all my products they go about every year but I was hoping to preemptively change it to save all the stress! Still we’re up and running now, all good.
Thanks again for your order, hope you like them (and I counted the dice out correctly!) 🤪
@@TabletopUpgrades I’ll be the judge of that, when they arrive. Lol. Glad everything is ok. Looking forward to more vlogs and vids. I just wish I was as talented as you.
@@timstubbings9140 if there are any problems, just shoot me a message on Etsy and I’ll sort immediately, as for talent…1% talent and 99% staying up late past my bed time swearing at a laser cutter haha
Did you fix the problem? What was it?Tube or PS
Both! The tube was on its way and the power supply sent it over the edge. Paid for the tube and PSU was on warranty so all good, been through another tube since then too 👍
How many hours were on it?
I don’t know exactly which is annoying I had assumed there’d be a log in the laser controller.
Roughly 5hrs a day * 5 days * 11 months = 1100hrs ish? Maybe a bit less? That’s with a proper chiller with refrigerant. I suspect a tube using the bucket of water and pond pump would be a bit less but I may be wrong.
What was interesting was the one I just changed faded over the course of two weeks but this one just died in a single day and and didn’t exhibit the weird array of circles like the one in this video
I was planning on keeping a tube in stock but apparently they don’t have a great shelf life and my laser supplier is only an hour away so if needs be I can always do it same day.
What’s been your experience?
