    This vid was very helpful to me. My Laser was not firing , everything seemed to be perfect, No alarm on the chiller (CW-3000) but once i pulled out the chiller alarm cable and jumpered it (1-3), the water alarm lockout was resolved and laser working as normal.

    Great Video and Very helpful. I wonder but is there a way to test the power supply itself. I have just bought a laser that comes with a digital readout in mA for the output current on the power supply itself. When the laser says its firing either with the red test button or the controller it shows 0mA. Just wondering if there's a wat to prove if its the power supply itself not producing any current or the tube/wiring not completing the circuit.

      The digital meter should indicating voltage when the tube is firing If the laser power supply led is indicating the laser is being fired when you push the test button on the laser power supply. And it is not firing it could be a switch main door. Water flow. By pass the lockout circuit to eliminate the switch circuit.
      If still not firing is probably laser power supply but could be tube.
      Your electrician could put a multimeter between the anode and cathode wire only test momentary as your meter could be damaged as the Amps could be over what your meter can candle. If meter indicates power should be faulty tube.

      I had the same issue - never worked from the beginning, troubleshooting indicated the flow sensor is not working but changing the direction of the cooling water flow got the laser firing again. The flow sensor may have been installed backwards?

    I have a max 147W laser tube, it worked before we transported the machine. Went to realign the mirrors and it’s not firing. I thought maybe there is a button on light burn that I am missing? That was my first hunch, I’m new to the machine and light burn. FL-1390. No alarms going off so CW 5000 cooler works great.

    Hi. My laser has had no power whatsoever for awhile. I'm prepared to fix it now. I just replaced the power supply with a correct replacement. My tester is reading proper voltage in, but nothing lights up at all when hitting the test button, even when the larger green plug is disconnected. Water is working, external power to air pumps and laser completely dead, fan to new power supply dead. I don't know what I missed, but I did not apparently understand a direct next step. Would you be willing to advise? Thank you.

    • @Graemecns
      @Graemecns  ปีที่แล้ว

      your laser power supply should a have a test button on it maybe a green button which should fire the laser.
      I think it will still fire even when you don't have a complete safety circuit (Water on Lid Closed).
      You should be able to test the output from your power supply with a meter.
      if you have the correct output voltage you may have a faulty tube.

    Good Morning. You would know why my laser is duplicated. In a test, like the one you did at 4:20, there are two marks on the paper, one next to the other, Thanks

    • @Graemecns
      @Graemecns  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should only have one mark if you have two like in a figure 8 then unfortunately you tube may be faulty

    My Laser is no longer firing (when I run the machine or when I press the Pulse button on the Ruida Control Panel).
    It was working fine... until it stopped working. I changed the tube as well as the power supply to the tube.
    I even connected a wire between the third and 4th connector in the Laser Power Supply (bypassing the flow meter).
    I don't have arching. When I press the test button the Laser fires every time (provided the connections to the controllers are unplugged)... ..
    I shorted the flow switch it hasn't helped.... Water flow is good... No bubbles in tube either...
    What could be the issue..?? Is the RDC6442 faulty??

    • @Graemecns
      @Graemecns  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      From what you are saying it sounds like your controller is the problem.
      I am not familiar with the rudia controller so I am no help to you with rudia testing.
      Generally electrically I would suggest you disconnect the power and have a closer look at the controller check for any burnt smell.

      You should check 1-All Lens & Mirror are clear and shiny not dusty. 2-Check the variable volume of power is full or not. 3-check the Laser power meter show the right power. If these are ok than check the Co2 Lser tube Lens with the help of a pice of mirror, if look dusty than clean softly by ear-Bud and check. Thanks

    If you get arcing where the wire connects to the tube, is the tube bad? I did a resistance test on the power supply and got 45 mA.

    • @Graemecns
      @Graemecns  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Arcing could be good or bad.
      If it is just an insulation problem it is good as that is an easy fix just insulate the wire correctly and all good.
      If it is caused because the spark is finding high resistance in the tube or a faulty tube earth and is jumping to the chassis it could be bad. If you did an amp test between the negative end of the tube and got 45ma reading if your tube was 80watt you would expect say 25ma check the spec for your tube.
      I doubt you would get much of a reading until you fix the arcing to chassis.

    • @karvtek
      @karvtek 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Graemecns it’s a brand new factory wire that has a basic terminal ring connector soldered on it and it just screws down to the end of the tube on top of course. Then there’s a red silicone cap that goes over the end of the tube and wire and then another silicone sleeve that goes over that. Wouldn’t that be my insulation?

    • @Graemecns
      @Graemecns  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@karvtek that is probably your insulation but if you have arking it must not be working.

    From what I understand the 40watt and 50watt tube have the same laser power source. All other sizes are matched 80watt tube would have a laser source to suit 80 watt. Some of the sellers in ebay have charts listing the output Amps and tube suitability.

    Hello, i hear sparks over the wire and when i press Pulse on the machine the wire also is moving a bit(pretty scarry) , does the arc of electricity flows away from the tube anode?
    how can i solve the issue?

    • @Graemecns
      @Graemecns  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need to insulate where the sparks are jumping from the wire if it persists after you have it all insulate or moved wire away from surfaces where sparks jump to you may have to replace the tube. Remember this is dangerous high voltage and repairs should be done by someone with electrical experience.

      First do the checks on the water flow switch, and door closed switches. As these will cause the laser not to fire with the control panel.
