Thanks so much for commenting, joe b! For the 2017 model year, the Hyundai Elantra didn't offer a black cloth interior no matter your exterior color choice. Hyundai only offers a black leather interior on higher-end trim levels. For the 2018 model year, though, Hyundai rectified my complaint and made black cloth seats an option on the base SE models of the Elantra (except for the Lakeside Blue, Electric Blue, Beige, and Red exterior colors). I hope this clears up any confusion. Nevertheless, if you like the content that I produce, don't hesitate to subscribe to the DriveAndBeDriven TH-cam channel. The higher trim option offer a hands free trunk open system, which I think is great and solves the trunk opening problem pretty nicely (if you have the key in your pocket, and stand in front of the trunk for 5 seconds, it will open automatically).

While the base SE model doesn't (and actually doesn't feature a rubber pad over the license plate area either). This leaves 2017 Elantra SE owners with only two ways to open the trunk... The key fob or with the lever located on the floor in the driver's area. My 2018 Elantra value edition has dark seats , and remote sensor trunk which I kinda think is a overrated feature. Love the car for the value though , and what all you get . You are reviewing lower trim level lol. It has a lot of features for a semi base trim . I don’t get that , if you want that many luxury options go up in trim.

+CTM12 Tube , I was very surprised as well! Almost all cars come standard with rear map pockets. I looked it up online, and mat pockets actually start at, I believe, the value edition trim and above! I appreciate you commenting, Nick Nick! The 2017 Elantra sure is a pretty impressive vehicle in its class. Afterall, all of its 'Pros' outweighed the 'Cons' by quite a bit. I actually found it quite difficult to find things that I wasn't entirely fond of with the Elantra. The main reason why the "Lack of Rear Seat Storage" was one of my Dislikes, was that many other vehicles offer double rear seat map pockets and some vehicles even offer a fold-down armrest with a shallow storage compartment (allowing for more usable space for knick knacks such as smartphones, tablets, toys, gum, etc.). Also, I am completely aware of the extremely spacious trunk that the newly introduced Elantra boasts. The "Practical and Generously Sized Trunk" was actually one of my Likes for the Elantra. In which, the Elantra slots in at the tops of the Compact Sedan class, and has proven to fare extremely well in my "How Much Stuff Can Fit In That Trunk?" Cargo Capacity Review.
