Alhamdulilah I needed to hear this right now, I’m a revert and I’ve been struggling lately, shaytaan has been dragging me back, and I let myself be pulled away from Allah (swt) and I’ve been very depressed. But I’m ready to try again, I don’t want to disappoint Allah (swt) or let myself down. Thank you Nouman Ali for this video, and thank you Allah (swt) for directing me here.
Dear sis make the dua of the Prophet 'O turner of hearts, make my heart steadfast on your religion'. Also, the book 'Increases and Decrease of Emaan' - this is a VERY good book masha'Allah. May Allah swt reward you and protect you. Also keep your 5 daily salaahs and morning and evening adhkaar protects you from the waswas of shaytan. Love you for the sake of Allah xxx
A small summary on this one as well How the devil pulls us back 1) By using history against us but making us think it’s our own thoughts - Making it feel like it’s impossible to become a good person, the way you used to be. But truth is, if you once had that capability, you still do. And shaitan wants us to believe that we can’t. This is in the spiritual sense and not an emotional one, the connection with the almighty. 2) Questioning past experiences and why we went through them - Why did this happen to me? Maybe I deserve it? Maybe I’m cursed? Maybe I’m no good? Maybe this is why Allah is angry with me. Whispers of shaitan. - So we start reliving past experiences that Allah took us out from but shaitan wants us to stay in so we can become hopeless at the mercy of Allah. This one is dangerous because it can start developing anger towards Allah. Shaitan wants us to figure out a way to blame Allah because that’s what he did. - Prophets had the most difficult of lives yet Allah loved them the most and this shows that having hard times isn’t proof of Allah’s curse. 3) He wants us to go back to previous relationships that were leading us astray - There are those friends that when you’re in their company, you feel sinful and maybe start doing sins, so you recognize that and start repenting and cut of these friendships. Not because you’re better or that you want them to suffer, but to save yourself. - So shaitan starts whispering: hey, don’t you miss the old friendship? Don’t you miss her, or that group? - So he starts pulling us back and sometimes we may fall, we convince ourselves that it isn’t big in Allah’s eyes. Shaitan maybe says just one time, not forever, it been hard lately and so forth. - Every forbidden is desirable, so we have to do Jihad against our own Nafs and control it as well as be mindful of these traps. Shaitan doesn’t necessarily want you to go back to the original sin, as long as you take one step he’s fine, he’s patient. There’s a fire 100 feet away and you just take one step, won’t matter. But every time it’s that little step and by the end, without us realizing we may have entered the fire, started sinning. (Counter-attack) In order to counterattack you have to ask yourself if this is taking you closer to Allah or closer to sin, but be mindful because it’s closer to sin, not sin itself.

I realised it is far better to have only few ppl in life than to have bunch of so called friends who keep you far away from deen. I am so greatful to have found Islam in my life.. It's because he has tawfeeq, probably due to sincerity. Those are matters of the unseen, but from what I see, that is what I believe. May Allah increase him in tawfeeq and grant him husnul khaatimah, he's a man trying hard in a difficult and hostile world.

I was in a situation like this at work where I jad to pull myself away. Distance myself from the immoral behavior of those around me. It felt as though I was being drawn in just by trying to be cordial because I work with them everyday. Of course they don't like it but I had to realize I had to save my soul cause I'm accountable for my own actions. Thank you.
