Fun little build - hope you enjoy!! A few pictures to go along with this video; imgur.com/a/GIEny Map; Supper Bay, Washington Theme; Realistic V 1.4.5 European
I really like this style and feel, but this city desperately needs to have a central rail station/corridor right at the heart of downtown to be realistic for a near-NYC town booming in the pre-highway era.
You get lucky in pa about aguest we get some road work its penndot trying to use all there budget up in the last like 2 months before they get reviewed
I live in a small town in NW Ohio, a quaint lil railroad town. We started recently having another boom with new manufacturing & logistical employment coming in, adding the influx of Californian's moving in aswell. This is almost a good representation of our downtown, except our old industrial sector, which is still standing with new businesses moving into them on the otherside of the tracks.
Nice to see you back where it all began (at least for me) in the USA. I was wonderwing however why towns such as these never recovered from 1929, especially considering the 'golden age' between 1944 - 1974.
Yeah, not sure. Perhaps New York pulled everything towards it, including skilled workforce. And the industrial expansion of the immediate post WWII era never seemed to take root in this town, having no industrial heritage.
Towns/ cities in upstate New york (utica, rome...) much like New England Milltowns declined for a few reason, first the movement of industrial jobs (west first then overseas), second the decline of canal/river trade on the Hudson which was followed by the decline in rail leading to these small cities being disconnected for major trade routes (large interstates), and to a small extent brain drain into the NYC and other coastal cities
Thanks for the info mattguz55 and Devin. I did knew a thing or 2 about railroad decline in the USA after WW2 and started thinking. What if New York acted like a railroad center for suburban (railroad) expansion much like London did in the first half of the 20th century. Would the decline in railroad operation cause or worsen the decline in towns such as these? I do know that Rome and Utica are way to distant to be considered suburban to New York though..
This is really good! I really like how you add a backstory and a vague location. The town is beautiful! But one thing, you're demotivating me to play this game as I can only build Barcelona style! xD
Awesome second music. Sounds like house music, which I love. What I really like about your builds is that you use real parking lots instead of the decals and fake cars.
I love it, this city is better than your other series about Europeans. please continue this and make it your best project to own everything that has a real city
Another quick question; I have the eurorow buildings by feinbildt but have to make a theme for them if I dont want to build them manually. How can I do that? I've created a theme but can't place the buildings that I want, there's no option for that.
I like it for the most part, but You used too many w2w buildings and there are too many large ones considering the size of the entire settlement. I'd either increase the size and make it a small city, or replace a lot the older buildings with abandoned or low end retail.
Can you please tell us what mod you're using for the roads? I use network extensions 2 (i think it's called) so I have a few of those roads you have but you have so many with different colors, what mod is that?
If you mean the additional highways, its not a mod, they come with Mass Transit DLC. If you mean the color of the mods you should subscribe to "Roads United Core+" mod in Steam Workshop and also a theme for it for example "European Roads" or "North American Roads". For more roads than what "NeXT 2" adds, you may try "New Roads For Network Extension 2"
For example, at 1:10 on the bottom row all those right of the monorail road. at 1:12 the last one on the right and the two on the 2nd row. and at 1:24 the large avenues on the first row (except the first two, I got those) and the first one on the 2nd row.
+DaneShady Maybe he's been grabbing some road mods from the workshop? The road editor came out with Green Cities, so I assume those are roads people have built with it. Just go onto the workshop and use the new "road" button on the side. There's something like 100 of them so far.
Can somebody please help me, when I try to start cities skylines it loaded for a long time then the screen just gets black and I can’t do anything.. It worked just good before the green cities update..
I guess that you use mods? If you do that's it. You will need to wait for some mods to get updated and resubscribe to them and some modd will probably not even get updated. Try searching "c:s green cities working mods" in google.

Infrastructurist You should build a coastal northeast town, similar to Nantucket in Massachusetts, it would show the more affluent side of America
Build a city from the game "need for speed Underground 2"
Infrastructurist i have to know all that buildings pls
Infrastructurist make a steam workshop collection
Infrastructurist can you make a rust belt themed city like those of Ohio or even Chicago’s hoods themed city
I really like this style and feel, but this city desperately needs to have a central rail station/corridor right at the heart of downtown to be realistic for a near-NYC town booming in the pre-highway era.
You are absolutely correct! I didn't even think of that, lol 😂😂
Of course YOU would say that :p
These American builds are so accurate. This is what the majority of my state looks like, right down to the potholes. Keep up the amazing work!
Blujitsu what state you live in? michigan?
Tyler Durden Pennsylvania, but Michigan also fits those criteria.
I think pretty much any small town in the US now
Potholes are common in the northeast because of the weather and most northern cities are run by corrupt politicians so nothing ever gets fixed

Do you ever get bored of being this good
OMFG you always make it look so realistic dude.
not the typical video of a thriving City; It made me sad. As always great work.

Molybdane in the case of Detroit and flint, racism sort of killed those cities, And kept them from ever recovering.

Thanks so much for not providing a collection or anything of mods used. Makes it so much easier to find what I need to make something similar!
Nice work! Intentional or not, beginning with the "overpasses" introduces a nice bit of symbolism.
You deserve much more subscribers! This is some amazing stuff.

Laur Oras with the help of mods.
He's a corrupt politician.

Infrastructurist
So a small detroit???

What graphics card have you got?

Thanks for your answer but I have all those already. Oh well, strange.
Then what roads do you mean?
For example,
at 1:10 on the bottom row all those right of the monorail road.
at 1:12 the last one on the right and the two on the 2nd row.
and at 1:24 the large avenues on the first row (except the first two, I got those) and the first one on the 2nd row.
