as a girl with pretty small hands, the New 2DS XL is the best and most comfortable handheld model Nintendo has ever made, period. light enough to be able to hold it easily with no issue, but built well enough that i never felt in danger of breaking it. screen was the perfect size, and the button/toggle distances were genuinely perfect.
I love the normal New 3DS. It's small, fits in every pocket and I really like the swappable faceplates. The only bad thing about it is the battery life! Way too short. Agreed. I got the original 3ds on release and loved it and then I got the n3DS non-XL used back in like 2017. Glad I got it then because prices hsve gone way up since. I still like my original one, the sheen is so pretty and the glow of the 3D is a nice touch. That said, I modded my n3DS and it's such a beast.
Interesting enough technically there are 4 versions of the switch the original, the revision of original, the lite, and the oled. And the Gameboy color is just a revision of the original gameboy, meanwhile the SP is just a revision of the gba, and the DS lite, dsi, and dsi xl are revisions of the original DS. Nintendo loves to make small changes to a console in order to sell you another I mean even the Wii had a revised model without GameCube support and a mini version.
I still have my dsi and own a switch....I plan on buying more games for my ds, but I suddenly have a desire to purchase a 2ds specifically Link green. Will it be a good purchase?
@@randallmontejano7787 if I were you I would just get a regular 2DS it plays all the 3DS games and DS games fits comfortably in your hands I do suggest getting a carrying bag that way you can put it inside the bag when you're done because it doesn't fold.
The new 3DS XL absolutely sucked for me to use if I needed to hit the secondary shoulder buttons. My fingers aren't long enough. They were easily reachable on the non XL.
Personally I think I'd put the original XL over the new 2DS XL, just cause you have to have a floaty grip on it to hear the speakers (which are directly in the corners where your palms go) and the hinge is even flimsier than the original XL Also sucks that the objectively worst model has by far the comfiest hand feel. Very good thickness and button placement and my hands naturally wrap around the top for those meaty shoulder buttons.
The 2ds is definitely the most comfortable, but I think the New 3ds (non xl) comes in 2nd and is my favorite overall. It also has my favorite design with the legend of zelda faceplates, and it fits in my pocket.

I got 2 2ds consoles growing up. Both broke in like 6 months. The first broke after I let my cousin play it and he was a bit too rough with it. The second broke out of nowhere. I didn't want to break that one so I rarely played it and left it secured in a drawer that had clothes I didn't wear as padding so it wouldn't break. Dang thing broke anyway. My 3ds xl lasted for years until I accidentally left it in my mom's old car that she lost the keys to so I wasn't able to get it again. Come to find out years later that the game I had in that thing is now worth hundreds of dollars due to being released by a defunct company.

Nintendo still hasn't figured out analog sticks to this day
Why would u want an actual analog stick on a ds😭
gamecube thumbstick:
Thats actually true tho
I had a 2DS back in the day and I remember being able to play on that thing for hours and not have any cramps or numb fingers.
Makes you wonder why Nintendo insisted on the stacked configuration when all other consoles had the lower set of controls indented inward.
You don't get cramps from a normal 3ds xl or new 3ds xl unless you struggle to lift a piece of paper
@@arzfan29this is what I was thinking. I’ve never got hand cramps from any gaming device unless i was playing something where I had to pull a trigger a lot or button mash for whatever reason. Or if I’m on my PC and I’m having to click repeatedly over and over again. Literally never got cramps from a casual game
@@arzfan29i dont get cramps when playing most games on ds or 3ds APART FROM mario kart ds and 7, i have played them on my dsi, n3dsxl and n2dsxl and its really uncomfortable. Ive had cramps while playing mk7 as a kid but id just ignore it and get 1st anywau lol
I dont like the 2ds feel honestly. I did like though.
I love how youre flexing that you have all the 3ds models and several special editions of them
The new models should really get some bonus points, I'm one of the few people who liked the 3d, but on my original 3ds I always got cramps trying to get the exact angle right, with face tracking and a larger screen the new 3ds XL is a must have
Great run down of the handhelds, thank you for all the info to us all. #shorts #Roadto10k
as a girl with pretty small hands, the New 2DS XL is the best and most comfortable handheld model Nintendo has ever made, period. light enough to be able to hold it easily with no issue, but built well enough that i never felt in danger of breaking it. screen was the perfect size, and the button/toggle distances were genuinely perfect.
I love the normal New 3DS. It's small, fits in every pocket and I really like the swappable faceplates. The only bad thing about it is the battery life! Way too short. Never tried out the 2DS because I always thought it looked a bit like a cheap kids toy, but I definetly have to check it out. It's going to be in the collection someday anyways. Gotta say, I'm a bit jealous of all your 3DS models! :D
I have both new 3ds and xl, but I usually use the small model.
The fact that there’s even five versions of this…
Six versions.
Theres just as many DS too
@@aikesscs There are only four DS models.
@@moddedinkling4168 so basically 2 more yeah
Interesting enough technically there are 4 versions of the switch the original, the revision of original, the lite, and the oled. And the Gameboy color is just a revision of the original gameboy, meanwhile the SP is just a revision of the gba, and the DS lite, dsi, and dsi xl are revisions of the original DS. Nintendo loves to make small changes to a console in order to sell you another I mean even the Wii had a revised model without GameCube support and a mini version.
bought a 3ds xl yesterday and i’m so excited for when it arrives !!
Love the nibbly stick 😂
definitely agree, I miss my old 2ds
The top screen for the 2dsxl looks like a slim phone without the home button (I feel old saying that)
I had a 2ds and upgraded to the xl but I can tell you this, I would've just been fine with the regular 2ds. It honestly is comfortable.
My 2DS still goes immaculate.
still love my 2ds so much. hacked it a while ago and now probably game on it the most
Ngl I didn’t expect 2DS to get 1st place💀
I agree with you the 2DS is really underrated I have the Legend of Zelda model honestly the best thing I ever purchased
That's why they only make controller grips for every ds except the og 2ds lol
As soon as I saw the Zelda design I swear I went 😮
Love that i still have my 2ds that i got on black friday in 2013
The new 3DS XL absolutely sucked for me to use if I needed to hit the secondary shoulder buttons. My fingers aren't long enough. They were easily reachable on the non XL.
Knew that 2DS was coming in at number 1. For such a goofy looking little brick that thing feels absolutely terrific to play on.
SOMEONE FINALLY SAID IT! Thank you, I use my 2ds more than my N3DSXL because of how comfortable it is! (also cuz it’s modded)
Old 3DS XL was comfortable especially for people who have large hands or just long fingers
Personally I think I'd put the original XL over the new 2DS XL, just cause you have to have a floaty grip on it to hear the speakers (which are directly in the corners where your palms go) and the hinge is even flimsier than the original XL
Also sucks that the objectively worst model has by far the comfiest hand feel. Very good thickness and button placement and my hands naturally wrap around the top for those meaty shoulder buttons.
I call my 2DS cheese *refuses to elaborate further*
The 2ds is definitely the most comfortable, but I think the New 3ds (non xl) comes in 2nd and is my favorite overall. It also has my favorite design with the legend of zelda faceplates, and it fits in my pocket.
You can get ready to throw sand at me...
I rather holding the OG 3DS
Ok, you can throw sand at me now
I used to have a 2ds, but crazily enough it got stolen in mexico by the neighbor and when i found it, it was driven over…
I later bought a New Nintendo 3ds XL
Yeah you got to protect your console when you’re out and about ESPECIALLY in Mexico.
With the 3ds xl, a way to help with the floppy hinge is to get like a clear hardcover case for it and it will make it more sturdy thats what ive done
the 2ds sucks
its uncomfortable
my parents got me a new 3ds xl as a kid and my sister got herself a xl and a regular 3ds and omg i hate holding the regular 3ds and the volume control location for both is infuriating
I have the old 3ds model and i put an extended battery in it so now its not as slim anymore and it made it more comfortable
loved my 2ds but ended up breaking it. some time after my cousin gave me his old 3ds but i left it in brazil, still miss both to this day
I didn’t even realise there were so many models
to have the eyes looking above the controlers for every 3ds's is more comfortable on bed sitting than having the controler at the level of the screen. It's either my arms would go cramps or neck pressure. Like my Ps Vita. I love the OG 3DS for that ( and numerous other reasons )
my Red 3DS XL broke in February 2022
i had that since 2013 my brother got it for me as a birthday gift. i played all my pokemon games on that thing & took it everywhere with me.. i miss it.
To this day I'm still on the hunt for a (reasonably priced) O2DS. I have the O3DS and the N2DSXL, but the uniquenss of the doorstop is well worth being in the collection!
I heavily dislike holding 3ds xls, even though I have big hands. Not only does the weight usually feel very top heavy, you can REALLY see all the blemishes in the games on such a big screen. I prefer my new 3ds.
Got some snap on controller grips that fit perfectly around my 2DS for five bucks at Gamestop. Made it absolutely perfect and comfortable no matter how long you would rock it. 100% would recommend as a must have accessory to any one that owns one of these bad boys!
dude a competition for the best 3ds model lost to a 2ds model, that's just crazy
Yep! They are all part of the same 3DS family of consoles, according to Nintendo 🙂
Loved my og 2ds for 10 years now. About to get a new 3ds xl from Japan, really curious how different it's gonna be
I have a N3DS and it's comfortable but for hours on end when I had to be bed ridden, it evenutally hurts to hold. I still use it today and just recently bought a 2ds (NOT XL) and hope to can play for hours without the pain
I’ve still got my old 2DS and it feels amazing to hold, now I can lay comfortably in bed with out the top screen going down whenever I fix my position :]
My dumbass 7 year old bought the 2ds because I thought my friend has that one, the shopkeeper ever told mw it was the same as a 3ds but i went for the 2ds. Later years I'd regret about it, but lately, by retrying both the 3ds and the 2ds I've come to that exact realization, the controls are so much better, and now that im bigger it fits into my pocket as well
The 4th place 3DS was my childhood, I sadly lost that Yoshi 3DS around my house when I was little
The 2DS was the most unconfortable to me, i hated the fact that My hand doest touched the bottom corner while holding it, it just akward
I actually repaired and modded my 2DS
I got it at a flea market for 10$ and the screen was broken
After fixing it up I then modded it and now the little system has a very special place in my heart
I still got the new Nintendo 2DS XL just pumped another 100 hrs into MH4U (Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate)
Uhh if there’s one thing you do not want when holding something up for a long time it’s “substantial weight”
Agree 💯 the original 2ds pokemon crystal consoles are my favorite. The transparent blue, red, green, and yellow look really amazing. I can't wait to complete the set and display them.
i remember back then people hated the 2DS, but seeing how much love it’s getting ever since its resurgence makes me quite satisfied to be honest
the new ones are obviously better but the og in green blue water color was TOO beautiful, and fits in a jeans pocket perfectly, i still use it as mine main portable console cos there's tons of 3ds games i still haven't played yet and it's just too light and small to not be carried around like everywhere every time i go out
BRO! YOU HAVE THE SAME NEW 3DS XL THAT I HAVE!! DESIGN AND EVERYTHING!!
Can you mod number 3? It’s the one I have and I don’t know how to if I even can
Yes you can
I had been under the impression that the looseness in the hinges of the original xl had been a deliberate choice with the aim of shock protection or something like that, I dunno though I just heard it somewhere
The OG 2ds was the goat, went on sale for 99$ CAD with Mario Kart 7 all the time, just wish it had a bigger screen
Just got a modded new 3ds LL (japanese XL) and my god do i feel the difference from the original 3ds.
It also came with a protective casing that has a really nice grip to it, but the buttons and everything feels miles better
How? Those 90º angles at the bottom ALWAYS hurt the palm of my hand
I personally own a New 3DS XL, but my brother owns a 2DS. When I had to beat Pokemon for him, I used his 2DS and enjoyed the system quite a lot, due to its surprising comfort
