    I used to run with Brumback in the late 80's - early 90's and we ran into Scotty quite a bit. That big bar table tournament in Georgia at The Wagon Wheel brought out all the hustlers, players, horses and so on. Scotty was there with a bar table player named John Turner & Eugene Browning. 1 of those 3 stayed in action all week. Eugene won the tournament one year I believe. The calcutta's were huge and they'd run a rolling calcutta every day. I think Scotty played really well when he caught his gear (somewhere between buzzing good & a damn good buzz). Anything past that he lost his edge. But he could still play. ALl 3 of those guys were great bar table players. The one in Moline, Ill. was always good too. Dave Matlock usually ruled the roost in the Mid-West tho.

    Scotty and I went to the same school in West Monroe and lived about a hundred yards apart. When we were 14 or 15 there was a bar across Darbonne Bayou and on Sunday afternoon would open for us kids to have a pool tournament. Scotty won most of the time but I did beat him in the finals one time. Once I got married I lost track of him. We were friends until then.

    I exercised with that staff, and after only 3 days, there was a considerable increase in my power!
    I would highly recommend that you exercise and play. You will develop a considerable amount of power and you need to manage your speed.

    I never met Scotty Townsend but I did see him play in Ocala. A very entertaining show not only in the way that he speaks but also in his billiard abilities!

    I never had the pleasure of meeting Scotty but sense I moved to East Tennessee about 5 years ago I got to meet and become friends with Mike House who i'm sure you know, use to run with Scotty Townsend. Mike is a really cool guy and speaks very highly of Scotty.

    My game has improved tremendously just from what we worked on my stance. When I miss a shot now it's usually because I've second-guessed myself, or tightening my grip during my stroke

      The foundation (stance) is vitally important and few understand it correctly....keep it up, the Game is the Teacher 💪

    CJ can you do a video playing 2 foul 9 ball you did video 11 months ago where you speak about it. I used to watch Allen Hopkins play a black fellow from Manhattan 9ball and they pushed out anytime during game. That was back in 1979. I've tried explaining the game to players here in Maine but they've never even heard of it.

    Very well said CJ. Hey man you ever came to Beaumont Tx n played a guy name Tommy Sanders. A great player. A natural. He was a car salesman. Anyway do you know him or played him

    • @cjwiley1541
      @cjwiley1541  ปีที่แล้ว

      No we never got together, I would have come there and played him even but he wanted a spot and I didn't want to fade him, he was a notch under the champions and a hell of a golfer too......classy man, I've been around him a couple times, I never had any desire to gamble -

    CJ, is there anywhere we can learn that “touch of outside” technique that Orcollo said he likes to use on the faster cloths?

    • @cjwiley1541
      @cjwiley1541  ปีที่แล้ว

      He just spins the ball slightly with outside on most shots - on slow cloth the inside is best but he's right about the new, slick cloth with soft pockets.

    CJ who was the great player in Houston during the 80s that ended up passing away from a drug overdose? I have always heard stories about how talented he was but for the life of me his name escapes me. I guess it’s because he just comes up in passing conversation.
